The reviews for Paapu House guest house are very positive, but my review is centred on their Thursday evening music show. Paapu House is very spacious and there's a variety of comfortable seating for the show. It was very well attended, and there was a surprising THREE different acts on that evening. All different, and all good. A variety of inexpensive drinks and snacks are available. A good evening out, I will be returning soon.

Upon arrival Paapu was so kind and welcoming. She really cares about each guest and goes above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable. Her place is charming, clean, in a great location and very homey. It’s within walking distance to the Saturday and Sunday night markets and the night bazaar. I’ve traveled a lot and have stayed at many different types of places (hostels, hotels and guest houses) and this is by far the best place I’ve stayed at. It’s great for solo travelers, groups and couples.

Paapu House! I was walking across the street and heard music coming out of the bar they had that sounded like Blues. My jam! Just as my ears adjusted and was certain that it was Blues that seemed to sound really good from a distance I started running like crazy towards the bar. I entered with so much excitement and oh my God the music was to die for!!! The service was top notch. The ambiance really lit up my night and I enjoyed it so much. Everyone was just having fun and enjoying the music! I also had the pleasure to meet the owner Paapu who was extremely kind and asked me to sit at the table where she was. I’m definitely coming back for more! Thank you for playing that music. Thank you for making my night. Thank you for an awesome bar with such an amazing vibe!

Nice breakfast spot! Coffee is good and they have fresh orange juice. The pancake was huge, served with fruit. The omelet on toast was equally nice.

I enjoyed a concert here. The place was nice & cozy. The only time I have ever danced so far in Thailand. Thanks for the amazing night.

I absolutely adore this place! I stayed in a double room with a fan. The room itself was comfortable with windows that have mesh to keep out mosquitos. Rooms are cleaned daily. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, I regret not staying longer! And the food - amazing! Best breakfast I've had in Chiang Mai. They also have cool band nights on Thursdays.

Absolutely loved this place. Paapu and her team were so welcoming and helpful. The house has an incredibly homey, loving, artistic vibe- definitely like staying at a friend's place in the spare room instead of a hotel or hostel. Thursday night live music was also fun, so be aware you won't get an early night if you stay that day. I'm sad I didn't get to stay longer on this visit, but next time will make sure to spend a few days!

While staying in CM, we went here every week to catch different talented local artists and it's always guaranteed a good time with a different vibe each time. The servers are sooooooooo sweet, greeting us like old friends!

We went here for live music night (Thursday nights only) and had a great time relaxing, drinking, and listening to the really great music! Prices were very reasonable and prices were good. There was plenty of inside seating, and no cover charge

Paapu's house was my home during my time in Chiang Mai. Paapu was so nice with me! She was always ready to help with anything and always with a warm smile. The restaurant downstairs is a cozy place to have your breakfast or a lunch. I loved the environment of this spot. On Thursday is live music, such amazing musicians! The rooms are comfortable and you have all you need there. You can feel the touch of love and dedication she puts in every detail. I couldn't have chosen a better place for me! Thanks Paapu! See you next time 😚

This hostel became my HQ during my Chiang Mai adventures. The owner is so friendly and the place feels like home. It’s an old house so if you like squeaky floors and a nice downstairs area with plants and water with an overhaul great decoration, the place is for you. As a side note, not the best place to meet fellow travelers if that’s your goal as it’s a fairly small place with just 6 rooms.

Top place! Great music and atmosphere. Three sax players along with two guitars, bass and drums lit up the night jamming for hours on a Thursday.

Love this place, especially during live music night. Many expats seem to hang out here. The owner Paapu is a very friendly and kind lady.

We stayed in a two person private room for 3 nights and the experience is simply great. From the moment you arrive Paapu takes amazing care of you and makes you feel at home. She started by giving us a welcome drink and talking about Chiang mai and what to do around the city, before showing us around the house. The room was spacious and the ac was effective at keeping the room cool. The bathrooms, while a bit old school, were clean. There is a free water and coffee available. The only downside; as two younger travelers, we were missing some other travelers to socialize with.

Paapu`s House is an excellent place to stay in Chiang Mai! The house resonates a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the host Paapu is extremely friendly, and super helpful with recommendations and bookings. She can speak very good English so we had little trouble communicating. The hostel itself offers a clean environment, in addition to delicious and good-priced coffee and breakfast. It is set in a perfect location as it is walking-distance to the markets, restaurants, temples, and many other local attractions. Overall, I highly recommend staying at Paapu`s guesthouse if you're aiming for a peaceful holiday in Chiang Mai.

Absolutely great host . Incredible hospitality. I pretty much walked everywhere from Paapu House with Paapu's help and directions . Although I have moved on, I will be going back tonight ( Thursday ) for the live music

Wow! Paapu is a person full of heart! My stay here was my personal highlight. She gave me fantastic and exceptional local advice. I am very grateful for that. I already miss Paapu's friendly nature. Only wanted to stay 3 days but loved extending my stay for a week. The rooms are lovingly furnished and the vibe here is pure holiday. Insider tip: Every Thursday there is a live concert with a very tasty buffet at a great price. I am looking forward coming back :)

Certainly not the first hostel/guesthouse I've stayed at nor the last, but can comfortably say it's the best, without hesitation. Paapu goes out of her way to make you feel at home and I really did. Great atmosphere balance of coffeehouse/workstation downstairs as well as evening locale for drinks, and occasional events/food. Ideally located with great cafes, restaurants, and bars just around the corner. Look forward to my next visit to Chiang Mai, and I know where I'll be staying.
