If you’re looking to see / learn about elephants in an ethical way, this is the place to go. No you don’t get to ride them or bathe with them but the elephants are forced to do those things for tourists. The elephants at Elephant Nature Park are pretty much allowed to do what they want and they all look happy. At Elephant Nature Park you’ll learn about the rescued elephants lives, get to feed and touch some of them (the ones that don’t mind being touched) and contribute money to a good cause. We did a lot of research before choosing Elephant Nature Park and we’re really happy we came here. Some of the other places call themselves “sanctuaries” but may not be ethical and are just putting on a good face for tourists. Also while you’re there be sure to visit Cat Kingdom! The rescued cats are so happy and love to be pet. We visited during both breaks. There is also a big quarantine area for rescued dogs but you can’t go inside because the dogs might not yet like people. The dogs with good temperament are allowed to walk around the park.

A lovely public park - a quiet place in a busy city. We walk to this park as it's close to our accommodation, and provides a quiet green space. It's a little hard to find - the entry is next to a school. While the park is lovely, there are very few places to sit and enjoy the park. Some decent seating would really improve this park.

(Translated by Google) From the previous foundation in many places Nus cites this is the best. Let's say everything for free !!!!!! That the guide spoke for two full hours is free. Honestly, I have never enjoyed the foundation because you might see something very pitiful but this place is not that !!! And you have to come once in your life. Extremely chilling, super clean, clean +++ What would be good to feed a living animal here again (better rearing than my house) First of all, you have to call for an appointment here. There will be a walking tour at 10:00 a.m. And 1:00 PM, the guide will take us to visit every part of the elephant camp 1. The dog that had been hurt was dropped. He also kept to raise. Each cage is very clean. I have to admit that he looks really good. Some dogs let He followed us from start to finish. The younger brother is very cute, the tech gear is very good, every hair is beautiful, very healthy. 2. The elephants that used to work hard, the elephants with disabilities, with the guide accompanying are safe The elephant has a lot of roots. Elephants live together at home, elephants release the forest Is that you see It's all good here, haha. 3. The buffalo that was redeemed from the abattoir is a descent Like in a lavender field 4. The highlight is Mew Since I went to catch it, it is very healthy. All of them are soft, fluffy, fur, fat, or this is the foundation, haha. If you are going to take care of it, you have to consider individually because you are here, it's good. Hahahaha. Really good. Very good. Very clean. No smell at all Nus was quite stunned in his management: clean +++, healthy and very chill, beautiful view, wide area, animals were released along the way. Once in your life you must come If you come, you might have to come again. Here the guide doesn't focus on that you have to donate. They take us to travel for free. I had read through the bad comments and i believed people/tourists were commenting at the wrong place. There are several Elephant camps around, but this one is not a camp - instead it is a place that saves/treats/homes animals that were badly treated, abandoned and harmed. We book a tour in advance(basically no walk-in), and the entrance fee is FREE(make sure your travel agent do not charge you on this). We had a guided tour to see the elephants, dogs, cats and buffolos with extremely detailed information. There is no show or performance or riding here, only observation of how the animals daily life are. So do not mistake this place with some other camps around, here they treat animals like human. We donated, and we hope everyone should visit here before they make decisions to go to any other animal camps.... Everyone has a story, animals too, come here to hear some of their stories.

They are not pets, so treated with care and kept natural! For people who feel sorry for the animals and are really just amazed, this park is the right one! Promised! Bathing and playing with wild animals is only possible in the imagination, but not in real life, therefore not allowed in this park - if you don't understand that, you don't understand Rescue either Greetings and have fun Diana and Kevin from Austria (Original) Paradise! Recommended by the Guardian and other reputable source as a true elephant sanctuary. This place is elephant first, so you will not be riding or hugging or seeing tricks. We chose the day visit. Lunch provided is delicious and vegan friendly. You will get to have a go at feeding the elephants, but only if they want to take the food from you. All interaction is initiated by the elephants. There is also a dog and cat rescue. If you love elephants but have concerns about exploitation go here, you will have a beautiful experience and be contributing to a worthy cause.

My visit was five years ago, but I wanted to write a review because My students and I had an amazing time. Having lived in Thailand, I had researched and visited many sites that claim to be ethical and a sanctuary and none compares to the level of care at this place. There is no riding, no sling shots, no hooks, and no chains. Yes the elephants are corralled at night, similar to how you kennel your dog, but with no space. The mahouts are refugees and the work for pay, housing, papers, and the organization also helps their children with school fees. When I brought my ten American students to Thailand on a research trip on how conflict affect people, animals, and ecology, this place encompasses it all! Our guide-Apple- was one of the first female mahouts in her village and was funny, took amazing care of my two students who got sick, and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. We stayed the night and my students didn’t sleep because they said the elephants outside their balcony were snoring too loud. The loved it! An added bonus was being able to see the extraordinary vet care from our balcony. The mahouts follow the elephants wherever they want to go and take turns taking herds into the forest. The student especially loved playing in the river with the elephants and splashing them with water. I would not hesitate going back here. Someone on here mentioned the horrible video they show of the horrors of riding in the van, guess what- you cannot make change if you want to sugar coat everything. It’s cruel-but necessary to understand. My students enjoyed themselves so much that they campaigned and raised money to sponsor Jokia for a year. The only complaint is that the food is not very good and there is never enough. If you don’t get there in time, the volunteers have eaten it all and left the tourists with just a few bites

(Translated by Google) Disappointing. We don't think elephants are treated that well. It seems that the company does good marketing, and people get carried away by the beautiful photos and the feeling of being close to the elephants. But the reality that we saw personally on our tour comes down to the animals being mistreated by the local employees (with screams, whips and slaps every time they threatened to leave the marked trail), in addition to insane tourists who do not respect the space or the animals. elephants themselves, let alone the other tourists present there. The guides were poorly informed and came with rude answers to the questions of the participants of the tour, they also did not show any authority over the group when some participants began to behave badly. Finally, if you think it is normal to enter a river full of elephant waste just to say that you had the experience of swimming with the animals, then good luck! (Original) Decepcionante.

I booked the 2500 baht one day package. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend this program. I was picked up and returned to my hotel. The park is about an hour drive away. There were only 2 people in my group plus the tour guide, whose name was Ten. He walked us around the open park and introduced us to many of the elephants. I got to feed some elephants too. The park is extremely humane and good to its animals. There was no bathing or riding. Lunch was a buffet of Thai, Indian, Chinese, and western food, and it was delicious (I went back for a second helping). After lunch, we walked around and saw more elephants, as well as the dog and can "kingdoms". The park rescues elephants, water buffalos, cows, dogs, cats, rabbits, and various other animals.

One of the only elephant parks in Northern Thailand, where they threat the animals with respect and not as a toy. Bit expensive, but a nice and educational outing.

A great sanctuary for "forest bath" in the city ! From 10 am. to 3 pm, it's emptied and the park is yours.

Small, very few trees... an afterthought at best. From all points inside the park, there are views of urban buildings. I certainly did not feel as if I were immersed in a green space. On the positive side, the grass and trees were green, but there's a clear drainage problem, again, due to poor or nonexistent architecture. Thus, there's too much mud, even during dry season. Cute little black and white birds added to the charm, as did the Araucaria trees. But again, far too few of them. During my visit, the only other people there was a group shooting a advert for a sugar beverage in a plastic bottle. And that's who the park is made for: Small to medium sized commercial users, for their occasional green space needs (before they race back to their office building). As with the park in the old town, Charoen Prathet Public Park is of very little public value, certainly not an urban oasis.
