I've done other bike tours in Chiang Mai...but Trailhead is the best so far by a long shot. They pick you up from your hotel and provided me with a free ice latte to start the morning. They run small group of 5 people so it makes it easier for tour guide to keep track of everyone. Their bikes are top-notch and in mint working condition. Other tour companies I noticed their bikes are not well maintained and it breaks down every time during the tour. The Trailhead tour guide took really good care of us...if someone is lagging behind..they would back to check on them. I did their newer tour, the Sticky Waterfall Explorer. It was pretty tough but a huge reward at the end with a beautiful waterfall and delicious lunch. I highly recommend Trailhead if you don't like chaos of other big tour groups. I'm already planning to book another tour with them...something more downhill and less climbing.

I have just finished a tour with these guys. What an experience. I enjoyed every minute and cant recommend them enough! As well as a guide who as well as showing you the route, also gave a running commentary on the area. I chose the easy option, but it was still around 28k. Dont be put off by that as there was plenty of stops on the way to catch your breath. There is a 4X4 that follows you and keeps meeting at rest stops along the route to give you water and a lift if you need a breather. Unfortunately I found TRIALHEAD on my last day or I would definitely have taken one of their other tours too. Full 5 stars as they really do deserve them. Thank you for a great day

I’m so glad I was able to find the Trailhead company and book a mountain bike ride through them. It was extra special that it was just a small group of 2 of us and the biking guide Lek. I did the “buffalo soldier”ride and it pushed me out of my comfort zone just the right amount and granted me this unique experience of riding on trails in the forest. The mountain bike they outfitted me with was of a high standard and they provided gear like a bike riding backpack and safety gear. It was a really fun day riding down the mountain, stopping to take in the stunning scenery and finishing off the trip with a delicious lunch close to a lake. Tips: bring mosquito repellent as the mosquitoes are relentless in the jungle! Also, bring a change of clothes because it’s really nice to be able to change out of your muddy sweaty outfit when the ride is over and have lunch and drive home in clean clothes. Lek was a super knowledgeable guide and I felt very safe and looked after with him leading the ride. My only warm feedback for Trailhead is to update the safety gear (gloves, knee pads and elbow pads) as these pieces seemed really worn and due for replacement. I’ll be booking another day trip with Trialhead the next time I visit the Chiang Mai area, and recommending them to friends. Thanks!

Riding with Trailhead was awesome! I did the numb DH tour which was a really fun challenge. Knowing that there are harder trails waiting makes me want to come back during dry season. A mechanical along the did not spoil any fun, since the TH team came prepared with spare parts. The ride also included water and quality sodas, as well as fruit and a tasty lunch. Finally, the guide was very professional, considerate, and friendly. I really enjoyed the whole experience, and believe that the team has put a lot of thought into the outfit that is Trailhead. Highly recommended, for everyone who enjoys Mountainbiking!

Did sticky waterfall MTB and buffalo soldier MTB couple days after. Highly recommend! The service is on point. For both tours, they provide a support vehicle trailing behind you the whole time and offer snacks, fruits and drinks whenever you want. You can also hop on if you’re feeling tired. They even have photographers snapping pictures of you AND they send them back to you afterwards :)

Best experience in Chiang Mai. Awesome kind and attentive team. Incredible experience. We did the buffalo soldier route. My partner and I both ride road bikes but not mountain bikes. We threw ourselves into it and absolutely loved it! Such fun. Some tricky sections but we enjoyed it. Good way to see the jungle and escape tourists.

I did a great MTB tour with Stefan. The bikes and equipment are state of the art. Bicycling through the jungle is a unique experience! Be prepared for a lot of sweating and unforgettable memories. Absolutely worth the money!

One of the highlight of our trip to Chiang Mai. Their service and attitude are top class. We took 'Rural Explorer' trip and it suit all kind of fitness level. So no worry even if you are new to cycling. Our tour guide 'KOM' and 'ViVi' are so wonderful and friendly. Will definitely join the trip again whenever we visiting there in the future.

We had the most fantastic time with Trailhead. They picked us up from their hotel and took us to their office for a safety briefing and a coffee (included in the price!). We had two vans following us for the bike ride (the passenger van and bike van) and the guides were fantastic. It was a really great ride (albeit quite exhausting!) and fantastic experience. There were lots of water and snack breaks too! Sticky waterfall is beautiful, and lunch was at a really delicious noodle restaurant. An absolute bargain! We'd definitely take a Trailhead tour again without hesitation.

Fantastic experience! We did the jungle cross country mountain bike ride which was about a half-day visit. Our guide (Lek) and support driver (VV) were fantastic and made the experience for my son and I very special. Great instruction, perfect level of complexity to match our ability and they even got great photos for us along the way. I’d recommend them to anyone - very professional service and super nice team

Had THE BEST time with Nee and Vivi in Doi Inthanon National Park. It was just like doing a tour with friends. We had great conversations, delicious food and laughed a lot. They are just the sweetest souls and always prepared to give you a snack or some interesting information about the area you‘re in. Or both at the same time. If you’re in Chiangmai a tour with Trailhead should be on your list. The range of tours they provide offer something for almost every age and fitness level. Don’t miss this !

We had a really fun day with Lek and Vivi. I’ve never rode a mountain bike before, Lek gave us a quick training and made sure we are comfortable with our bikes before we started. Along the way, he gave a lot of technical guidance and encouragement. The route was very scenic, with a good mixture of roads and dirt tracks. Bikes were in great condition too, hydration breaks were well paced too. This tour is beginner friendly, but you’ll definitely enjoy it more if you have a good level of fitness. Thank you Lek and vivi for taking such good care of us.

Had an awesome afternoon joining their kayaking trip. Was at the beautiful Mae Kuang Dam and we had such a great sunset! Everything was very well organized and very professional. Dinner was a lakeside barbecue and don’t be worried that you will go hungry, they prepared enough food to feed a whole village. Highly recommended for a group of friends or family.

I joined the ‘Smoke on the water’ tour. Was a lot of fun and a proper mountain bike trail. The guides are excellent and bikes well maintained (if you hire one)

We did the half day city bike Tour and it was epic! This is highly recommend. The bikes were a good quality. The guides Kib and ViVi were amazing and looked after us so well. The tour was Special and unique and we stopped at a silver making workshop, saw the silver temple, tried awesome foods and visited places in the city we would have never gone to without Trailhead in Chiang Mai! Awesome bike tour!

My boyfriend and I had the most amazing experience mountain biking to the sticky waterfall for my birthday! The guides were super friendly and fun, and our group was a great size (7), there was such a great atmosphere in the group. The bikes were perfect and the cycling routes were great. There were loads of delicious snacks throughout the day and lunch at the end. The bat cave was such a unique experience, and the sticky waterfall was great and refreshing! The cycling level was moderate overall, challenging in one spot but the car is always nearby to give you a little lift if needed :) The whole staff team in the office and on the trip was amazing. We were so happy throughout the whole trip, and also got a good day of exercise! Thank you so much!!!

We went on the rural explorer day trip and had an absolutely amazing time. They were extremely well organized, and the guides were helpful, nice, and lovely people. They brought along perfect snacks for the breaks, fresh fruit and sticky rice. The trail was well planned and manageable for everyone, with the car traveling right behind us in case anyone got tired and wanted to take a break. We also didn’t have to carry any bag with us which was nice. The views were amazing, and it was honestly a fantastic experience. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended. Logistic was simple and our guide, Vivi, was warm and friendly. It’s great to know the city, it’s surrounding and culture with a local guide. We cycled in&out of the old city, into quieter alleys and around temples. It is a great way to explore. Personally I think it would be better to start this tour early on your trip :) We do have to cross busy roads and cycle alongside the traffic but all was well because the motorists are generally considerate and patient. We went during the rainy season in early Aug but was blessed with little rain. It rained however, at the tail end of our cycling tour and the road quickly flooded. Vivi was really thoughtful and got us raincoats. It was quite an experience in itself to cycle with raincoat on in the rain and paddling through the flood water.

Half day city bike tour was really great. Slow and easy. We also had lunch together and shop together. The tour guide was so kind and told me a lot about the city. I recommend this tour to all the people who come to Chiangmai. Thank you Spc! ♡

Friendly staff, nice vibe. We were recommended this place for breakfast but it seems they don't do them anymore unfortunately. Had a nice cappuccino and Thai milk tea with vanilla syrup. Staff were very helpful in helping me contact my onward plans. There were free bananas from one of their hometowns too!!

Had a great experience on a full day mountain biking tour. We did the Sticky Falls Explorer tour. It was fun to get outside of Chiang Mai City for a while. The Sticky Falls at the end of the trip was the highlight. Such a beautiful place even with all of the tourists. Plenty of snacks and water is provided as well as a pretty good lunch toward the end of the trip. This place also serves great coffee. My bike was in great working condition. This tour is denoted as "easy", but you do need to be in pretty good physical condition as there is quite a bit of hill climbing. However, do not fear if you are not a strong climber. There is a vehicle available if it is too strenuous for you.

If you are looking for real hiking that is the place you should choose! The focus is on the nature, sport, fruits and whatever you will find on your way! One of the best hiking/trekking i have ever had. Totally recommend it, you will not regret!

Great bunch of guys and gals at this place. If you are looking for any trail or outdoor advice, this is your spot. Not only is a properly insured group but they also do fully custom adventures for all age groups and levels. Stop by at the cafe and see what they have to offer.

This was an amazing tour...the best one in Thailand so far! Did buffalo soldier. The experience of biking through the rainforest was just incredible. There was a mix of different terrain. The guide will show you how to use the bike properly and get through the more challenging parts. It was even raining and had a blast. Would highly recommend!

Thank you Kom and VV for the great mountain biking experience in Chiang Mai. We had fun (despite the uphill cycling..Kom was really encouraging throughout the journey :D) zipping through the forest and really going off-the-beaten path to get to Sticky Waterfalls. Loved the snacks, fresh fruits and delicious lunch too! Give this a try if you're looking for an adventure in CM!!

Fantastic experience! Cold, slippery, muddy, watery, sunny, roots, stones, waterfalls etc etc. Beautiful viewpoints. Up was way harder than I expected, I died a couple of times, but it was totally worth it. Kom is a nice guy with knowledge and humor. Because we were just with 2 riders we did the whole trip on our own pace, ate together afterwards and I came 'home' early enough to take a bath and a oh so needed massage. Not the numb ride, but (more than) numb enough!

If you are into mountain biking and you find yourself visiting Chiang Mai, this a must-do. My son and I joined the ‘Numb’ tour. We had a Fantastic day!! The guides are super friendly, relaxed and really professional. Guides take pictures and make videos throughout the day, which are shared afterwards. The tour itself can only be described as a true adventure, with some steep ( and sometimes slippery) descents, deep ruts, river crossings, mixed up with some muscle aching climbs. You’re rewarded by some refreshing snacks and coconut at the end.

Ask for Nick to be your God! What a fantastic experience with my best friend! Even though I got my butt kicked (weightlifting muscle is not the same as distance mountain biking muscle) I survived! Note: if you are not conditioned properly, make sure you listen to the guide and his suggestions in regards to what trail to pick. It will save you a lot of pain. You start out your day going to the shop that That is very well outfitted with the absolute best bikes in the industry and some of the best gear in the industry. Dual disc brakes, Michelin knobby tires, etc. No I’m not talking about a jeep wrangler, I’m talking about a mountain bike. At the shop you have access to breakfast and freshly made coffee beverages. Once you leave you go up about 30 to 40 minutes to some of the prettiest views and it’s all downhill from there! I did A combination of buffalo soldier and thriller that Nick custom created along the way. Plagued by a bit of dehydration and constant cramping in my quadriceps it was rough but so worth it. For the adventurers and extreme sports enthusiasts at heart if you’re picking the harder trails!!

Would recommend this place very, very highly. I had an excellent day out with my guide, Kom. Such a great guy, he had excellent local knowledge, he waited for me at the top of the hills and as I was the only one (which was extremely lucky) he took me on an extended tour. There was a coconut and cold water waiting for me on return to the shop which was very much needed! Kom then suggested some lunch which again was delicious and my vegetarian request wasn't a problem at all. All in all an excellent package. Oh and they film the ride and take photos and send them over by email, can't wait to see the results, although I'm sure to be looking knackered! Highly recommended.
