All others tourist attractions in Chiangrai are so crowded but this place was so calm and tranquil. For me it was an underrate attractions. The garden is refreshing and fill with interesting plants and flowers (given you come at the right time and if you do look around). The old woodcrafts and the main building were magnificent. They were donated by Thai people to honor our late king Bhumipol's mother princess Srinagarindrand (Som Dej Ya). Espacially Hor Kam but too bad that you are not allow to take any photo inside it. You will have to pay for the ticket to enter around 100-200 baht but i think it is worth it. If you need a break from other tourists, this is the place to wind down after looking around the place. Planty of spot to sit and just chill.

Light of my life work. Good exhibition You should go in groups because the places are wide and each point is far from each other. You must walk in groups for safety as the event is held at night. Take beautiful photos. There are no officers at each point, only in front. If you go late at night, you will be a bit lonely.

A great place to wander around and enjoy the peace and quiet and at the same time see both ancient and modern history and art. Take a picnic as there us no food in the park but there is a small gift shop selling coffee and ice creams.

Beautifully landscaped public park. Very impressive Golden Teak Pavilion donated by the people of Chiang Rai to honour the Princess Mother (Mae Fah Luang) Very extensive and interesting Teak Museum or Haw Keow, with lots of information, not only about the uses of Teak but also about the royal projects which have so much benefitted the local hill tribe people. Easy to spend a good half day there and a lovely place to take a picnic. well worth the 200 baht entrance fee.

Quite expensive for what this place is... we arrive with our rented motorbike to this cultural compound and just at the entrance, without knowing too much what we were going to look, we got charge 300 baht per person... Once at the reception we are told there are mainly 2 things to see there. A beautiful building (old style but new) with some exhibitions. A photo exhibition, some old tool museum, and a couple of modern art exhibitions. After checking it out, we walked to the other main building, a newly made (1994?) Temple made in honor to the mother princess (who did a lot for the north hill tribes). The temple is beautiful and follows a new kind of architecture. And that’s all... maybe quite expensive for those 2 things but as we were already there, we had no choice. If you have spare time and money at Chiang Rai, this is a good place to use it!

It's great. The explainations of each items in the exhibition is incredibly detailed and insightful. The gallery that is here temporarily includes some exceptional pictures and paintings. The downside is probably that you probably need someone who is fluent in Thai with you and that the toilet is pretty dirty. The coffee here also isn't great.
