Lovely small military museum in a quite old house (not more than a hundred years but something US Americans would call antique). Entrance is free but there is a donation box or you can buy advertisement products. Maybe even a really cool polo shirt for 300 Baht if available in your size. It is mainly about the local military and has some cool weapons on which you can take a close look. But beware, basically everything is in Thai ;) I would recommend to come here, first because it is not too full with other tourists yet (I was the only one besides two Thai).l, second because you can enjoy a coffee in the neighboring coffee shop.

Not a must visit but it's interesting to see how museums are set up to venerate the local hero's. As such, there is almost no English translations but this is not really needed. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere in a slightly lower class area but it's free to enter and there is a cafe here as well.

military museum historical place that presents military history stories related to Chiang Rai Province At the time of World War I, it was a 2-story building in a shady, quiet area. There was a viewing point next to the museum building and a good coffee shop next to the museum.

If the museum has English translation on display board would be much better for tourists.

Very good views from here. Museum lacks any foreign language explanations but has nice displays of battalion level heavy weapons and some good older armaments. Museum is a beautiful older western style mansion.

Didn't actually enter the museum, just visited the cafe with friends. It's a beautiful location and the house looks very interesting from the outside. Must go again and visit the museum.

The military museum we visited during the tram tour. It introduces history, but I'm not sure because it's only in Thai. Still, it is well displayed and is a lot of fun to look at. I liked the quiet atmosphere of the cafe next to the museum.

Who goes to Chiang Rai? I'd like you to stop by and visit. You're guaranteed to gain knowledge about many things about Thai history. The lecturers speak eloquently, fluently, and without being boring. When finished, sit and sip coffee. or various drinks at Chomphon Coffee Shop, which is in the same area. ….Received both knowledge, entertainment and sipped delicious drinks. Very impressed.
