Absolutely stunning and rich in culture! Such a serene and magical place. My favourite Wat of the many during my travels in Thailand. Amazing architecture and details spread over a vast amount of land. They are constantly building more structures to add more Buddha’s. We arrived before noon and had most if the place to ourselves. An hour later it was packed as we left for lunch. Very clean and well kept grounds. Shoes off and dress appropriately to show your respects. No entry fee, but donations accepted throughout the grounds. The best was the lying Buddha. So grand and vibrant in the art and details. Recommended to anyone who lives culture and is headed to sticky waterfalls as it is “relatively” close by.

A giant Buddha temple complex which still being under construction. Wat Ban Den is really huge and impressive, it definitely worth visiting. Entrance is always free. You should remember that stones you're walking on here get really hit afternoon, so the best time to visit Wat Ban Den is morning or evening.

This is a very interesting temple about 40 kilometers from Chiang Mai. It has a large number of different designed temples and they are in the process of building 2 more. There are also nices views of the mountains from the temple.

This is a very large temple and one of those must see landmarks in the area. I have traveled around much in Thailand; this is at least one of he largest temple grounds that I have seen. The grounds are beautiful and well kept and there are many bathrooms and a few snack and souvenir shops close by. Best to have shoes you can easily remove as there are many different building to tour. While there was a couple of people in shorts, please plan with appropriate attire as you are entering a temple.

Wat Ban Den...a One-Wat stop! This sprawling temple complex 50km north of Chiang Mai is a great way to experience a variety of temple styles in one location. Although it's relatively new it is an impressive display of the artistry and details of Buddhist temples.

No need to buy tickets. It's up to you for donation. Great scenery and buildings. Advise to visit in the early morning. The floor is frying hot as it is open air, directly exposed to the sun during the afternoon.

Wat Den Salee Sri Muang Gan (Wat Ban Den) The temple is very beautiful with architectural styles, art, colors. At first glance, I thought that it would not take long to spend here but I was wrong because there are many beautiful places to walk around. See you again in the next time.

I always admire Thai architecture showing their culture. This temple is a mix of different region in Thai. A must see also and include this in your tour.

Wat Ban Den was Majestic. The contrasting colors, the amazing architecture and all. But it's around 42 km from Chiang Mai main city. So, please take a prebooked meter taxi for round trip instead of just taking a grab. Look at some of the amazing photos and videos I have taken just with my phone

'Ban Den Temple' or 'Wat Ban Den วัดบ้านเด่น' or 'Wat Bandensali Si Mueang Kaen' 'วัดเด่นสะหลีศรีเมืองแกน' (Wat = temple) is located in Inthakin village, Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai The Lanna style architecture, the richness of culture that had been influenced through the design in detail is one of the remarkable temple in Chiang Mai ‍ It's a lot to take-in.. The temple is huge and every corner of the building has their own unique detail. It's a bit overwhelming for me, maybe from the continuous construction and renovating since 1804 by a former abbot, Kruba Thueang Natsilo The intention of renovating also included to make the place that people can find their peace of mind rather than a venue for religious rituals The temple is worth visiting, as it is on the way from Chiang Mai to Mae Taeng, the place stands beautifully on the small hill, surrounded by the prime landscape of Inthakin village ‍ (Free Entrance, Open Daily 07.00 - 18.00)

A very colorful but charming temple. It is one of the most beautiful temple complexes seen in Thailand. Even though it does not have the spiritual sense of a temple, it is a nice complex of buildings, statues and stupas. The colors used in the structures complement well with the surrounding nature. Some part of it is still under construction and people can donate for the construction. Even the process of donating is made so interesting, letting us to hang a flag like thing on a rope. The entrance is free and there is ample parking infront of the temple.

This is a 'must visit' temple complex with a stunning array of buddhist temples and stupas. If you're into photography, aim for the 'golden hour' and you will not fail to capture some fantastic images. The complex is clean and well maintained and, unlike some other temples in Thailand, seems to be place of genuine pilgrimage rather than a tourist destination.

Immaculate well maintained grounds with expansively magnificent mountain valley range views. Must see Theravada Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai!

A bit out of the way of Chiang Mai but if you're on a tour this is a must-do stop. The temple complex is fairly new and in amazing condition, in the middle of the the beautiful countryside. The colours in the temple complex are really vivid.

Beautiful temple located in a small village called “Ban Den” very big but also very hot. It is a temple must go in Chiangmai Suggestion : go in the morning before 10:00am or after 04:00pm because it is super hot during the day

Beautiful temples outside of Chiang Mai. About 1 hour drive from Chiang Mai. Mini restaurant at the entrance that sells snacks / drinks. Different Nagas / elephant colors on each temple. Parking is plenty.

Absolutely must see temple. If you are on your way to Pai or Chiang Dao or if you think Air Diamond Cafe is a worthwhile destination you must make this side trip. This is a majestic temple complex deserving much more attention. The variety of designs are overwhelming and the view towards Sri Lanna National Park is beautiful. Also be sure and check out Dantewada Land of Angels waterfall park which is quite close by. The cooling mist will soothe your burning feet from exploring Wat Ban Den.

Stunning wat with multiple temples, stupas and statues. A must visit for anyone in Chiang mai. Beautiful and well maintained, admission is free. If you don’t have long pants or a skirt, you can rent a sarong for 20/- plus a 100/- deposit

There are multiple temples at this Wat with beautiful symbolic statutes and an amazing view looking towards the mountains. I can only recommend visiting this Wat. You will in no way be disappointed.

This temple complex Wat Ban Den north of Chiang Mai is extremely well designed with fine Lanna architecture, sculpture and craftsmanship. The contrast in colour used in wall paint, timber elements and roof construction gives a stunning impact to all visitors. Very special! I love the blue stupa at apex of the compound which is so uniquely ornamented with golden corners.

Just an amazing temple complex! Still under construction, but this doesn't prevent you from enjoying the already completed beautiful temples. You have to spent couple of hours to walk it all. Caution: In some places the floor is very hot, so you need to walk fast from one shady place to another or wear socks.

The temple is so beautiful but more fancy than classy pure temple. The buildings are impressive and the imagery is of high quality. It's extremely amazing.

Explored this place thank to my tour guide. This temple is so far one of the most beautiful ones I've seen in Thailand. Not sure how you can go there by public transport as it's in a rural area. I highly recommend to check this out if you're in Chiang Dao. 💙🙏
