AMAZING local and authentic Italian bakery! This is their only location according to the person who helped me at their counter. The selection is almost overwhelming! I loved the cookies with apricot, almond and raspberry and chocolate (which makes up a lot of the different kinds, I know!). Very bright and clean inside and friendly staff too. Will definitely be coming back here during future visits to Chicago!

My daughter and grandchildren stopped by this bakery for the first time yesterday.I randomly googled bakeries and decided to try this one. Also we saw great reviews. We were looking for good cannolis. OMG!!! When you walk in it smells amazing and there are so many pastries to choose from. Needless to say we bought not only cannolis but their cheesecake and cake slices and cookies! We live an hour away so we made the most of our visit! The staff was amazing! They even gave us a couple freebies to try! When I tell you everything we bought was excellent, it truly was! The flavors, the richness and quality were very good! We will make this our bakery from now on. It was worth the commute! Thanks so much! We enjoyed everything! 😊

This place is fantastic! My grandparents are celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary and pretty much all my life I've heard of these specific pastries they had at their wedding. They couldn't remember what they were called and for years my grandma tried to find a bakery that made them to no avail. This year I decided to try to track these things down. After all what do you get people who've been married so long? After calling what felt like every Italian bakery in the city I called up IL Giardino and explained what I was looking for. They knew exactly what i was talking about and while they didn't make that specifically he knew they made something very very similar. Basically, they were amazing. They brought tears to my Nanas eyes and put a big smile on my papas face. They knew exactly what they were and couldn't wait to dig in. They ( the profiteroles) were delicious. Not exactly the same as the elusive wedding pastry but, from what my grands said, pretty close! While I was at the bakery I also picked up cookies, foccia, and some pastries and they all have been amazing. The cookies and foccia are just like my grandmas used to make. It was like going back to huge family dinners and holidays. The staff that I dealt with both on the phone and in the bakery were wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable. We will 100% be back and highly highly recommend this place!

This was my first time ordering my son a birthday cake from here. Maria took my order. She was very patient and went out of her way to make sure the image my son wanted on his cake was perfect and without any issues (many bakeries won't help out with the image if it has issues from my experience). The whole process of ordering my son's cake was a total breeze. From the customer service alone I would rate IL Giardino Del Dolce 5 stars. Onto the cake. When I received the cake it looked amazing, exactly how I wanted it but the best thing about the cake was the way it tasted, best cake I have ate in many years! This is by far the best bakery for birthday cakes or cakes in general. I will definitely order again from here, especially for birthday cakes. Thank you so much IL Giardino Del Dolce!

Best lobster tails I’ve ever had! I’ve gone to other places to try but this place is the best. Especially if the lobster tail is crunchy (which usually it is). I recently did catering for their mini lobster tails and everyone loved them. Best pastry, sweet and crunchy 🥐

El Giardino bakery is be one of the best bakeries in the city of Chicago. It truly is an old world, Italian bakery. I have been going there for years and they do not disappoint. Today I went in there for some cookies and assorted Pastries. I asked the young woman at the counter, if she had a sfogliatella with Cannoli filling. She said she didn’t, but she can make one up for me, she had shells in the back. Not many people will go above and beyond, she did. Can I tell you that was the best sfogliatella I have ever had. My only complaint is, I only bought one, Which I devoured in about 2 minutes. I will be taking another trip back there to get more. El Giardino bakery is the only bakery that I know still makes they traditional cannoli cream with the citron fruit, absolutely the best! This bakery is truly a gem. In my book this is a 5 star bakery.

Cute, quaint and clean bakery! Friendly employees and delicious goods. My partner and I loved to buy lobster tails, original cannoli’s and the cannoli’s dipped in white chocolate and milk chocolate. So very good! We recently moved and I already miss this place. We brought treats to our loved ones constantly from this bakery.

This place is FABULOUS! I can always depend on the great Cannolis at Il Giardino Del Dolce, when I don't have time to make them myself. They're my favorite, next to the Sicilian Cassata (or Cannoli Torte, as Americans say) and of course, the Zuppa Inglese Torte, which my family loves! It's best to call ahead if you're buying a large amount of Cannolis or other pastries for an event. Even in a "crunch" and you forget or are in a bind, the staff here is always willing to "make it happen" and provide options. Not once have I ever heard, "Sorry, we're out" or "Sorry, try back later." Staff is never "snippy" or rude. They never make me stand there waiting for somebody to even acknowledge me. They're ready to help me, even before I've decided. This place has been our favorite for many years, and the best of all, it's only about ten (10) minutes from my home! ~Bon Appititu!

Walk into this place and realize it will be virtually impossible not to grab one of everything. Finding Lobster tail pastry is difficult nation wide-Youtube making these to find out why-and so when you find a place thats been doing it perfect so long you realize any detour is worth it. The parking lot outside smells like Amaretto and Vanilla, you go in and are blasted with color and wonderful aromas and met with great service. Everything-Everything is good, and props to them for holding a few Lobster tails for me s i was driving back to PA from South Dakota. Im looking forward to the chance to stop here again but until then you definitely need too.

I stopped here on a Wednesday morning 3/15/23. Wanted to get some Zeppole for St. Joseph's Day. A very nice assortment of fillings. All of the baked goods were inviting. I should've taken a photo when I first brought them home to post. I saved two for myself and they were delicious. My friend took her's home. Will definitely head back for future purchases. The female clerk was very patient with my questions and packaged everything nicely.

Best local bakery! I LOVE their cookies <3 I used to go with my baby girl and buy a half pound but I can eat them in one sitting so I try to go 2 times a week and get 1 or 2 cookies to satisfy my sweet tooth! The staff is so friendly and every time I am there we always have a great conversation. Update: especially the shorter girl that always has her lashes done she is amazing! They definitely have a customer for life!

We consider Enzo & the IL Giardino Del Dolce staff, all dear friends! Family almost!!! They go above and beyond when it comes to really creating something special. IL Giardino customized all of our wedding canoli's and recently our "Gender Reveal Cake"... and all of it turned out way beyond our expectations! If we could give them more than 5 stars in each category, we would. This bakery is a 10 out of 10, and I will not go anywhere elsewhere. They are that special and the bakery is that great!!! Amanda went out of her way to accommodate a special order for a holiday party for me. All other places I called could not do it. This place came highly recommended and I’m glad I acted upon that recommendation! The cookie assortment and giant cannoli with the mini cannolis in it tasted great and everyone at the party loved them! Will definitely use them again in the future! Thank you
