Recommend: great coffee and food items. Unfortunately it seems only lavazza left in Chicago. Can be a bit slow during high traffic times but otherwise all great.

Prompt, easy, lovely ladies working, and the egg and cheese croissant was quite good! Cold brew delicious as well. 5 stars if it weren’t so overpriced for the sizes of what I got. $12 for smaller coffee and a half croissant, but still good

I love to come here and relax with my thoughts and a good cup of Italian hot drinking chocolate 🍫 with a chocolate 🍫 croissant. The quiche here is absolutely delicious and all the croissants and pastries are baked fresh every morning by the pastry chef at the Drake hotel. The vibes are always positive and Galdina always greets the guests here with a huge smile and excellent service. Such friendly vibes from start to finish 😌

The last Lavazza in Chicago. Small café with decent amount of seating in The Drake arcade. Prices are fair and service is great. My drip with oat milk was delicious and tasted fresh even for later in the day

It’s nice but I can’t believe I just paid $8 for a chocolate croissant 🥐 In Europe they cost $1.50. What the heck!?

i like the location of this Lavazza as it is very near by my hood....but their coffee wasn't special..I tried cappuccino...I've had better one like at Elaine which is my favorite in Chicago so far... It is a convenient location if you stay at Drake or shopping near by. They have decent variety of panini/breakfast menu include smoothies.

This place could be great, but it consistently falls short. Every couple of months, after enough time has passed since my last visit, I get lured back by the funky midcentury-mod decor, the great photos on the wall, and the high-quality coffee. Then I sit down for a few minutes, and I remember why I don't come here all the time. The place is dingy all around the edges, with wobbly tables, spills left uncleaned for a bit too long, a few flies hovering near the overfull trash cans, etc. It breaks my heart, because the concept is so cool and the place is right in my neighborhood. If they could combine the look and taste of this place with the simple attention to detail found in every friggin' Starbucks, they'd have a real winner.

Fast service, decent coffee. And huge shout out to Tamika, so friendly and intuitive as to what a customer actually wants. Thank you!

From the moment I walked in here.. I was greeted with kindness and energy! The staff was so friendly and helpful with any questions I had. I was invited back to pop in anytime. I would say the customer service was more than I have had at a cafe in a long time! I give this place 5⭐️ Jerry (the pigeon) gives it 5⭐️ as well Follow #JerryThePigeon on Instagram for more food & fun recommendations.

Purchased the Neve Sulla Lava and a strawberry cream danish. Both were very good. Around $10 for both.

Esprssion should be skipped. We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, a frappe, and a scone. The employee at the register was incredibly rude when asked what flavors were offered for the frappe considering they aren’t posted. All of the baked items were rock-hard, dried out, and tasted like they had been made three days ago. They also messed up both sandwiches, replacing bacon with ham on one and replacing the croissant with a dried biscuit on the other. For $36, you would be better getting breakfast and coffee from one of the many convenience stores. Truthfully, the “pretzel” from the Field Museum is better quality and a better value.

Food and beverages are great here. What is not mentioned in the reviews is how ornery and incredibly rude half of the customers are who stay at the Drake, while expecting minimum wage workers from the south side to give two sh!ts about their customers problems. I was witness to it last visit, woman was berating the cashier and barista worker for about 20 minutes. Ironic she was woke and so critical. Regardless, great cafe with tasty food and beverages. Probably best coffee in Chicago, but a rare anomaly in a strange location.

It was part of the hotel. Quiche was freezing. Couldn't ask for a new one since they were slammed. Mocha was basically a hot chocolate. Bagel with a tiny container of cream cheese. Had low expectations going in, but for the the money I ended up spending, with little chance for recourse, I'm giving two stars. It's probably fine if you need a quick coffee to stop here.

Staying at the Drake, so this was my only choice for grabbing a quick breakfast. They were out of quiche and hard boiled eggs multiple days in a row. When I asked why cashier said they no longer carried those items...but they are still on the menu. No protein food options. If you are looking for food, don't stop here.

The spinach and feta croissant was one of the best things I’ve ever had! Coffee was smooth and strong.

They were out of 2 coffee selections. Then the coffee they did give us was just terribly made. Ordered a poppyseed bagel and got a plain one. Flies were circling the barista station because of all of the open containers. Overall unpleasant time

Basic coffee shop. It feels like your typical neighborhood Starbucks. Corporate decor! Definitely no Italian vibes here. It wasn’t what I was expecting.
