Not much of the wall has survived to see, but it is well worth a visit, taking a lovely stroll through these places, which are full of history. The Diateichisma was built by the Athenians at the end of the 4th century BC, to effectively deal with the coming danger from the Macedonians. The new wall that was built on the ridges of the Muses (Filopappou), Pnyka and Nympho hills, was connected to the north and south with the older Themistokleian Wall, leaving large parts of the ancient Municipalities of Melitis and Koili outside the fortifications This 900 meter long intermediate wall was reinforced with square and circular towers and had two gates at the junctions of the hills. Under Justinian, in the 6th century AD, it was repaired again and strengthened with additional towers.

There is little left of this wall. It is located on the walking route to the Pnyx, so you can easily catch it. Quite accessible.
