It’s a scam being operated at this location. My subscription ended and they continue to charge a monthly and an annual fee. Called to find out why and the guy who picked was making fun of me and talking funny. Ask for a copy of my contract because I know very well there was no clause as to auto renew. Am being told by one Erika unless I come in-person, I cannot get a copy. It’s a waste of time and resources to subscribe to this gym. Do not take the bait even if offered free subscription. I will never have anything to do with LA fitness again.

I took a spin class at the Otay lakes 2070 location. 10 minutes into the class instructor “Izzy” was insulting me over the microphone, 3 times. I have medical issues and couldn’t follow his spinning cues exactly. I had to modify my form. Instead of asking me why I was performing that way, he insulting me in front of the class. Very unprofessional

The gym facility is great. When we go to check in for a workout, we usually just use our phone number. It's only an issue with one employee, and she grills us like toddlers about downloading the app and why we haven't downloaded it. I'm so sick and tired of just trying to check in and having her scold us for not downloading the stupid app. She even went as far as stopping one of the other employees trying to check us to grill us about the app. I'm not going to the gym the next time I'm here for business or personal reasons.

I bought into a 6 month training program that I wanted to cancel a few days later. Rather than being told about my statutory right to cancel, the manager, Nico, told me I had to pay for a cancellation fee. Because that wasn't in writing, I now have to pay said cancellation fee. I only got one training session where he showed me some basic exercises and that was it. No diet plan, no exercise plan, no tracking. Since it was only one training session, I thought I might be able to get some sort of early cancellation where I didn't have to pay as much. Perhaps LA Corporate could do something. Nope. Nico sold me into something I didn't need and I was stupid and sick enough to bite. Corporate did nothing so I'm paying a total of $869 for ONE training session. LA fitness is not worth anyone's time. They're operating a legal scam. Go look it up on Google. The loss I've incurred is pennies compared to others. Why even attend a gym with these practices who aren't willing to compromise? LA Fitness is like a car dealership scam except you don't even get a wheel.

The gym used to be really good. Their give a very poor attempt to ensure members are wearing masks though! Some employees don't even wear them properly. I complained to the corporate office ,but they offered absolutely no help justify service.

The worst LA fitness I ever attended. What makes it more interesting is that the issues are not with the employees. Is with the customers that attend this facility. DB are misplaced, racked on the incorrect spot, equipment is taken from other areas never to be returned. C’mon people... Is not so hard to pick up after yourself. Straight laziness.

I have been going to this location for over 10 months. Its recently been bought to my attention these people forged my signature and opened up a second personal training account in December of 2021 on my account! They then started charging my card $531 a month!! For services not authorized by me. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THAT GYM! Once I noticed they claimed they can’t refund me! The person who signed me up did this to my account shady gym filled with shady employees 0/10 would not recommend! Please send me a refund.

There’s literally no attachments for the pulleys. They have like 2 ropes and 2 D handles. For 8-10 pulleys. The staff don’t walk the floor there’s never any DB in its place even when the gym is empty. For the money you pay this gym should be better staffed and there should be more attachments.

Have been going to this gym for years because my dad was paying for my membership (only I used it). I showed up today and they wouldn’t let me in because it was under my dads account and even though it was being paid for only my dad was allowed to use it even though we are family. A shame because it was the more expensive membership that had +2 additional guests. After I wasn’t allowed in I drove to planet fitness and signed up for their black card membership, where all the machines are brand new, spa, and massage area. I am cancelling my membership at LA fitness!!

I had placed my account on hold. I had some fraudulent charges on my credit card I locked my card I found out it had not been placed on hold per my request LA Fitness blew up my phone relentlessly the day after the monthly bill was due. Just $32.00 I was pounded by following calls there after. I called LA Fitness to explain what happened. They didn't care. I was advised that if I pay my past due, they would drop the late fee. I advised the collection rep I want to cancel due to their relentless hounding me for $32.00. Its rediculous. A week later, I paid and brought my account current. The same day I called and demanded my membership cancelation along with email confirmation. I received my email confirmation. LA fitness- how hard up for $$ are you that you harass and blast someone all day with phone calls for a $32.00 bill. You do realize that you just lost a member. Thats $32.00 a month × 12 months or more ( I'll use 2 years ) thats $768.00 you flushed away because you have insane accounting and collecting. Your obviously struggling for $$ based off of the amount of harassment I received over $32.00 for one month. Have a nice life.👌

Please be aware woman is taking photos in changing room of ladies undressed continuously. Manager does nothing about it. I saw her doing it 3 different days already. When I asked Briana receptionist to please go and see who it is and stop her she simply smiled at me and did nothing. Terrible management at this location! Filed police report today.

The staff here is nice and work hard, but the members are slobs and are never held accountable for their lack of gym etiquette. Almost no one puts their weights away or they leave it somewhere else so it’s hard to find anything. Barely anyone wipes up after themselves. And everyone thinks when there is a mandatory mask mandate that it’s a suggestion. 50% of people here don’t wear a mask even when it’s required regardless of vaccination status. And another 25% wear their masks below their chins. Some of the staff doesn’t even abide by the mask mandate. You see every once and a while of a walk through to ask people to wear masks but people oblige until the staff walks away then they take them off again. I wish they were held to a higher standard and asked to leave if they don’t follow the rules including some of the staff members who don’t follow the rules themselves. I don’t entirely feel safe working out here or enjoy it as much as other LA Fitness’s because of the members at this location. I am very close to cancelling both my wife and my membership unless this gets better here.

It's a great location and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The only downside is that it's super crowded. Hopefully they open another location soon near by to minimize the flow of people or expand the building and make it bigger. But it will eventually outgrow its population. Would have given it 5 Stars but that's the only two set backs. Also needs more cleaning stations and spray bottles to prevent skin bacteria from spreading. Prices are fair for cleanliness and equipment.

I tried making a routine out of two a days here with cardio in the AM (basketball) and weight training in the afternoon before class. They open at five, and I head to the court, and about twenty minutes later I’m told they’re about to mop… twenty minutes after opening, lol. Seems like it could’ve been done before closing so that it had ample time to dry before patrons were gonna use it. So I leave to go workout, and five minutes into that I go for paper towels, and wouldn’t you know it they’re out. Priorities seem to be misplaced here.

I don’t know where these good reviews are coming from. These people must’ve never been to a decent gym. Don’t let the pretty building fool you. It’s straight out of the early 2000’s. The weight room and cardio floor is cramped. TINY. It’s crowded and every bench and machine is taken. Good luck getting in a decent workout. I’m so saddened as I just moved here, now I will be looking to leave LA Fitness. I refuse to let this be my new home gym 😭 Update: still a dump. My husband and I gave this place another try with an open mind and it was just as terrible if not worse than our first attempt. CROWDED, filthy and stuffy. There are lines for machines like they waiting to go through TSA. My husband says both times there was no toilet paper in the bathrooms and it was filthy. I can confirm the women’s restroom is also disgusting. It appears the members don’t know how to flush a toilet.

I decided to end my LA Fitness membership... 1. I would like to work out late.. Because workSchedule always change.. Going to LA fitness They close At 10 the latest 2. I remember paying $20 now a got expensive $32 . I understand eflation On minimum wage .. But why you have to take that on your customers... By increasing the monthly membership..

The gym is a nice place to work out and signing up for the membership was fairly easy. The only problem I have is that the gym trainer that was suppose to train with me never communicated with me that they couldn't make it or told me that they couldn't make it that day. So I cancelled on having trainer and realized I would rather train myself instead. Isaac was just very unprofessional for me and I found it more unprofessional that no other employee informed me either. If your the type of person that's very organized with schedules then I don't recommend this place. I think this location is for people that has more free time on their hands. I guess it's much better for a type b personality customers. March 11, 2019 I came in with my daughter and was told that you pay $15.00 dollars a month for child care . I'm looking at my bank statement and I'm being charged $30.00. If it was $30.00 dollars a month then I would have said no. The person in the front desk is scamming people for money, don't know, what their doing or lacking the communication skills. I see this as poor customer service. I will just have to speak with corporate later instead.

I attend this location because of indoor facilities. The place features a 4-lane swimming pool, 4 full-sized racquetball courts, 1 full-sized basketball hardwood court, 20-stationary bike room, and mirrored hardwood hall used for Zumba classes & boxing. Need I say more? That's why I love this.

I had one bad encounter when they tried so hard to get me to sign up for the personal training subscription even though I kept saying “no I don’t need it”. Tried to make me feel bad about my finances even though my finances were great at that time! Other than that guy, I really enjoy the gym. It’s clean, people keep to themselves or their friend(s), and it’s super clean all the time and never too packed~

I was shopping for a new gym that's clean, well maintained and with knowledgeable trainers & employees and this location is SUPER CLEAN. I just can't express enough how Uber important a clean, well maintained gym is to me... y'all impressed me and I appreciated what y'all do to keep the gym clean. I'm excited to join!!!

Pros.... Close to Eastlake Greens. Cons... Poor process to get someone signed up. Gave credit card over the phone to sign up.. Never got a receipt or terms and conditions. Why... bc I was never asked for my email to get a receipt. So that call was placed yesterday with Brandon. I go in today, talk to two nice girls at the front. Finally got a receipt. I asked to cancel bc it seems like nobody cares - no receipt, no bar code setup, no email address... Then after 6 other ppl, they still didn't ask for my correct email. Just the sale is what matters. I asked to cancel after Jan 19th (which is two months, first and last, that I already paid for yesterday ) ...3 people later, then I get to speak to Brandon on another associates personal cell phone. Just to tell him the same thing.. And this is bc I was told... "cancelations can only be dome by the person who signed up you".. This is ludacris , since people turn over at gyms like a hot chick getting a tan at the beach.

I love this location. I have been to 3 of the locations and this one has been my favorite. My wife signed me up for a personal trainer and every time I started with a trainer at the other locations they would be flaky. When I started at this location I had a ton of training sessions left because of the other trainers cancelling appointments. I expressed my frustration with the scheduler and she set me up to work with Sammy. Sammy is very consistent and good to work with. Sammy makes sure I am working towards my goals every session. 5 stars for the trainer. My only issue with this facility is there are always a lot of people in the training area without trainers. I wish they would really do more to keep this area clear. Maybe adding a similar area outside the training area. Other than that my trainer Sammy has been great.

Okay if you are new and only use floor machines. Freeweight area is terrible. Missing over half the freeweight set. Benches at the very back are super wobbly and honestly unsafe if you are pushing anything over 30 pounds. Bathrooms are outdated. The lockers are old and falling apart. Cleanliness inside the lockers and showers are lacking and gross. Only thing that is nice here is the shake bar, the racket ball courts, and again basic floor machines at the very front on the gym.

Sofia is the person who answers , basically she just lie about everything , I tried calling and going online to cancel my membership and they make impossible to do so, as of now they charged my wife and I twice for recurring charges and still can't cancel, I am asking corporate to do something about this and cancel my account and refund me for an authorized charges ASAP. Dear LA Fitness, most of the other major gyms in your area are setting up outdoors during the pandemic so people can continue to follow exercise regiments. Why haven't you adapted to the current circumstances like the other gyms in your area? I paid the huge initiation fee when I signed up so I can't just leave the gym. I chose LA Fitness because there are no other gyms that offer the great gym experience like you guys do. You have a giant parking area at your disposal so I don't see why you can't open up outdoors?

Machines are great but you'll never see the free weights racked on their proper spots. Not in the morning when you first walk in, not in the evening at the end of the day. Never. You'd be lucky to even find the weight you want to use.

Generally, I like LA Fitness and I have been LA Fitness member since 2015. However, this location is super crowded. Sometimes I have to return back home right away when I get to the parking lot in front of facility because it shows how congested it is. I wish they could expand the facility area or add more machines.

I use to go here but I had to change gyms. I now go to 24hour fitness on imperial Hopefully my gym crush finds me again. Only thing I miss that doesn't compete Is the sauna rooms at lafitness. I wish 24hours had separate rooms and were clean.

Member for a few months now. 1 - extend the weekend hours in the morning and night. 2 - Please educate members about putting weights back in the right place (specifically the dumbbells). Emphasis on it. I do not expect LA Fitness employees to pick up after grown men and women that can read numbers themselves. Not okay. 3 - Place the cleaning product/sprays in permanent spots around the gym. Anchor down with a weight/tie it down/tape it down/whatever you need to do. It's annoying to carry it around while trying to workout. 4 - There are a few treadmills on the 2nd floor that were switched to Kilometers.. Mph would be nice. It's little things

Ladies in the kids club are amazing!!! Good facilities, the best part is being able to bring our little one to kids club. She has so much fun every visit.

I received more than excellent attention from Emanuel and Aundru. Yesterday, September 20, 2023, I arrived at LA Fitness in Otay to reactivate my membership after having stopped attending for approximately 8 months. Upon arriving at the reception I asked to speak to someone in Spanish and they immediately called Emanuel, to whom I explained my situation, he immediately looked up my information and informed me of the next steps. I mentioned that I would make a phone call to my insurance and he wrote down what I needed to ask my insurance, he stayed there in case I needed help, which happened, Emanuel gave me the information I needed, reactivated my membership and introduced me to Andrew, who talked to me about how positive it is to exercise constantly. All this was done in a very kind way that seems natural to both of them. If you go to LA Fitness ask for Emanuel and/or Andrew. You will be amazed at the excellent service!

Katherin is an incredible trainer. I had my complimentary session with her when I joined. I shared all my concerns about safety and goals and I learned so much! She's very friendly, non-judgemental, professional, non-salesy, and very helpful. I felt like she really cared about my health holistically and she made sure my form was proper and safe. Her workouts were thoughtful, unique, and specific to the things I wanted to work on and improve. She was able to answer all my nutrition questions as well. I wish I could hire her for individual sessions but they only have 6 month/1 year programs.

What I enjoy most about this gym is the training program- for those of us that need some extra motivation it's a perfect solution. I HIGHLY recommend Edik as a trainer, she's motivating, challenging, and knowledgeable.

Jacuzzi was broken again, they fixed it, a few days later today it is barely room temp, I tried to tell the front desk and they unprofessionally did not give one care [Sht] about anything I had to say, rolled eyes. The other gyms would thank me for sharing that info and report it straight to manager. I like gyms that care.

Paper towels are out in the whole facility and no one changes it. Definitely going to 24 hour fitness

Very nice and new-looking location. Sauna is small/medium sized but gets wifi (and all through the locker rooms.) Treadmills on the second floor overlooking the machines, and also a wall of tvs, which makes for a less boring workout. Big, open floor plan, which feels nice and expansive.

I Love My Life Fitness who else has got a pool and a jacuzzi and a sauna oh yeah they have workout equipment too but I go for the jacuzzi

Great gym but super crowded ALL the time. I work at 5am and would like to get a workout in the mornings but they don’t open until 5. Weekends they only open 8-8. There are also always several sales persons around it’s too bad they can’t expand hours with so many employees they have hanging around.

Unprofessional gym that takes no accountability in what goes on in there. Multiple people have been stealing phones and personal belongings and staff does the bare minimum about it. Weeks go by and they act like they don’t know what you’re talking about when you ask for updates. Staff is lazy and nonchalant about any issues brought to them. Not the cleanest gym either. Won’t be going to this location anymore and wouldn’t recommend anyone else going either. Save your time and money.

I'm really enjoying my time at this gym. This gym is always being cleaned by the custodians which is of big importance to me. I have a personal trainer, Sammy. She's very knowledgeable and encouraging with the workouts. She's fair and understanding too. She gives helpful nutrition and fitness tips and easy to talk with. The challenging thing is sometimes it could get crowded and there's not enough equipment for everyone.

One of my favorite locations in San Diego. Friendly staff and clean locker room/laboratories. The weights and machines are well kept. Keep up the good work!

The first day, the first trial workout with a personal trainer, the first machine, and they give me too much weight on the machine on the shoulders - a click in the back and pain ... then there was a short workout on the legs, where the back was not involved, after the workout we sat down at the table for discussion fitness club membership plans with trainer and Brandon, after which I got up, but I can’t walk. I just broke my back on the first machine! I lay for several days and could not move, not to mention walking! This is a serious mistake! When Brandon wrote to us a couple of days later and asked if we had decided on the membership we was told him how I feel after training at LA Fitness with personal trainer, to which he replied okay, see you! 🙈 I have already heard more than one such story after I told my friends what happened to me, it turns out that this gym is famous for this problem, it’s a pity that I found out about it after my incident. By the way, 1.5 weeks have passed, my back still hurts.😞

I have nothing but great things to say about LA Fitness Eastlake. Omar and Brandon helped me out in kickstarting a membership and I couldn't be happier. When choosing between LA Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness, it was a no brainer. Aside from top of the line equipment, the customer service I received from Brandon and Omar was what helped me make my decision. They were so kind and helpful and took the time to explain the membership thoroughly. They also kept in touch with me and made me feel like a truly valued customer. Thank you, Omar and Brandon!

What I really like about L.A. Fitness is that they're generally consistent across the board with the equipment, facilities and how they're maintained. Some are a bit better than others but generally I can get almost any type of workout I need to get done here. I DO miss when they had just normal paper towels and spray, which have been replaced by the sanitizer wipes since the pandemic. My only big issue with these is that they don't always get filled on time and some stations stay empty for days. Which when you're in a building primarily populated by lots of sweaty humans, can be disconcerting.

I got lied to by Jacob about membership cancellation. He said it can be cancelled over the phone and he just did it. Next thing you know I notice it still hasn't cancelled and I call back and he said I have to go in person to cancel it... Edit: I went inside and I've got told that I have to send an email to cancel... Why on earth is it so difficult to cancel the membership?!

Good experience same as before except for the changes brought on by the pandemic, some machines have been put out of order to socially distance people but it makes it harder now to find machines that aren't being used.

I had canceled my membership during this back and forth with Covid going on for both myself and my family through email with corporate they confirmed through corporate that on 02SEP2020 there would be no Charges but they ended up charging me anyway and even more than for what my dues where. I called the center and spoke witha female rep who transferred me to a number that I was on hold for 30min so I called back a male answered took all my info and provided me with his name. I called back to request an email confirming only to be told by the female rep that that male was not even in the office so there was no way I could have spoken to him. She then gave me corporates number. I called back around 1pm to get a hold of the male I spoke with that morning who said he was the only male working there under that name and never spoke with me. Finally got a hold of corporate and the only thing they offered to refund back was the dues they just charged so around 300 lost........😔

Equipment was clean and the ability to clean as you go is appreciated during these Covid times. Social distancing is being used with effective measures, every other machine is turned off/unplugged/ or otherwise marked as unavailable for use. The locker rooms are spacious. The staff was friendly. All in all great first time experience.

Just walked in to test out the gym and had a great experience. I wasn't confident on if I wanted to join at first, but the team there really gave me a good deal when I explained my situation. Also just customer I received was great, happy to have walked in.

This has to be the worst gym out there. Fromt desk staff just sits theres on their phones all day morning and evening shifts, managera are never at present-as if the gym is running itself without one since Carrie left- and the staff likes to kicm everyone out at closing hours so they can bring thwir friends and work out privately after closing hours which i think is illegal what theyre doing.

This gym is needing some new cable machine attachments bad! Either they’re disappearing or they break and not replaced. We know the gym has money to replace these things. Also, they have to have the loudest treadmills ever! When running these things make so much noise that it even gets through your headphones and you hear it with music on. Come on LA Fitness! At least put some money back into equipment when all of these members pay for memberships.

Amazing staff! and amenities! Gym has been very clean, ask for the membership managers Omar or Jacob, I promise they will help you in anything you need.

This is my home gym. They did a renovation last year. Machines, free weights and cardio can all be done here. There's also a shop next to the raquetball courts where you can order smoothies and protein drinks. Staff is very friendly and willing to assist with every inquiry. Just wish they had more up-to-date machines to hit different body part angles. Other than that, this place gets the job done. Sample parking as well.

Nice place. They have just about everything you need to get a good workout. Just like most commercial gyms, it can get very busy at times. I like that the pool is heated. Dont really interact with the staff so I can not comment on that too much. But overall, so far so good on my one month there.

Tried calling twice - both times I was put on hold for at least five minutes with the automated message “your call is very important to us. Someone will be with you shortly” every 30 seconds or so. I ended up just hanging up. The one time I got through to someone, I requested to freeze my membership and was told that I was given a complimentary freeze, but was charged for the month anyways. Very frustrating

You can actually social distance here, its so large. Also, the parking lot is huge. I went as a guest, so i dont know about pricing. Staff was very friendly.

He seemed annoyed, responded with sarcasm, and just seemed very upset just for the reason of asking for a water cup. Hahahah, its just a water cup!!! A simple " Sorry, we cannot hand out cups" would have been absolutely fair. Its all in the way you say it. Sorry LA Fitness for the one start, but the juice bar is part of the gym..
