The only decent thing about this place is location which is around 10 minutes to Metro station and they have elevator. However, the place is so ghetto. We had to pay extra for AC room and they asked for city tax in cash when we checked in. The room is filthy. The floor was super dusty. They only have 2 shared bathroom for 3 floors: 1 is in the first floor and another one in 2nd floor. The door has no handle and people can see us inside the room through key hole. The room is also super dark, only 1 light bulb for the whole room. The curtain was nailed into the window frame somehow. Room also seems haunted
This was one of the worst places i ever booked. the staff was unfriendly, the rooms were bad and the badroom especially the shower was a nightmare. at least it leads the ranking of the worst places that we went to. sorry i dont have pictures as we didnt want that any of our friends can see this place. never again.
Very bad experience, poor facilities and not at all suitable for families. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, it felt like being in a horror movie. Definitely not recommended
It's a one star hotel for a reason. Stayed in a shared room, the bed was a bit uncomfortable, the room was hot and loud. The staff I met were a bit abrupt, but for €30 for the night 15 minutes from the station you can't be too upset. Would say it's cleaner / nicer than most reviews seem to state
This is fantastic value for money. Very well connected to public transport. It most definitely has a hostel feel vs a hotel feel, however the rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and great value. We paid slightly extra for a private bathroom (well worth it), and the only downside is that it is VERY noisy from the street. We were well warned about this from previous reviews, so with ear plugs it's fine. But light sleepers beware, it's too hot to sleep with the windows closed, so you will hear the hustle and bustle of Milan!!!
Price to location ratio is hard to beat. Less than 10min walk to central train station. Good sized rooms, comfortable bed with aircon. No real complaints. Stayed here twice, once after landing in Milan and then again upon flying out
Do not stay here! Bad and old, no hot water! Can’t take a shower! 95€ what a shame!
We originally booked a room via Hostelworld and therefore had a certain level of trust. However we were shocked at how HORRIBLE this place was! First the bathrooms (2 bathrooms for the whole house!!) were extremely dirty and people were smoking there leaving their cigarettes swimming in the toilet. The second shock was the state of the room which was anything but decent. We've never seen so much dust in our life and the furniture was broken and dirty. We did not look underneath the blankets or mattress because we were afraid of discovering bedbugs or worse. Not to mention the open and dangerous electric cables coming out of the wall and broken light... The night was not bene at all, first we heard loud screams and noise followed by a terrifying bang and lots of fighting inside the house - we felt very unsafe. We cannot recommend this Hostel to anyone! Do yourself a favor and don't book a room at Villa Melchiorre. To quote another person on google "RUN".
I think judging by other reviews regarding previous stays, that there may have been an improvement as my stay was excellent. My bed was large and comfortable with an unusually good mattress. The shower and bathroom were great and the room was clean and spacious with everything you would expect. And, it was quiet.
DO NOT STAY HERE - THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN It is difficult to describe how horrible of an experience three of my friends and I had with two separate rooms at the Villa Melchiorre 24 hostel (if you can even call it that). For starters, the Italian police arrived as we were checking in, seemingly to arrest a current resident. All four of us were quickly pushed into one two person room until the police left, likely so we would not see what was going on. When we were finally let into the second room, the host advised us not to leave any windows or doors open because if an intruder were to come in, the hostel would not be responsible. There was trash in our rooms, and later when we pulled the blankets back, we found blood stains on the sheets in BOTH rooms. To make matters worse, nobody was still at reception to replace the sheets at that point. There was also no hot water, which seemed negligible at that point but should also be noted. I have pictures of the trash and blood stained sheets, but don’t see anywhere to upload pictures on this review. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Given all of that, I would never let myself or anyone I know stay at this horrible place ever again, and I highly recommend you do the same.
Everything ok but the receptionist is very rude and he doesn’t speak italian and english well
