Spent 2 days relaxing in this home away from home. Rooms really comfortable and well furnished, great morning rusks... WiFi is problematic and cost for buffet dinner was high. Lyne very pleasant and helpful

What a pleasant surprise it was. We arrived at about 6:30pm and greetings un in the parking area was our lovely and friendly host Lyne. She made us feel right at home with her informal hospitality, showed us our room and invited us to the most wonderful farm style dinner I've had in a long time. The room has everything that you would expect from a rustic farm lodge without lacking any luxuries. We had a great evening and made new friends by the way. Breakfast was just as wonderful and we left our new home near Gariep dam feeling refreshed and relaxed.

What a wonderful treasure! Before we even parked, Lynn was there to greet and welcome us and even made us sandwiches even though the kitchen was closed untill dinner. Fantastic place to stay over or better still, take a couple of days to enjoy real hospitality and absolute best dinner you can get any ware. Super comfy beds, well appointed rooms in mint condition. Well done Lynn, you are a real gem, and that goes for everyone working for you too. We will recommend Orange River Lodge wherever we go. Thanx so much for everything and may God bless you. Regards. if perfect is 100percent, Lynn and her premise deserves 1000 for amazing. Super comfy rooms, spacious toilet, delicious home made farm style buffet dinner, and breakfast. Shame we only stayed for one night for a stop over, I would definitely enjoy the peace and quiet and contemplate life by my naval at her farm if I could stay longer.

Christelle is the star that makes this place tick. All that was missing? A view of the river, which it implied in the name.

Another visit to our home from home in August 2023. Lynn is an exceptional person. Always a warm welcome. Since our last visit, there has been painting and rooms cleaned. It needs to be mentioned that we found new duvets and bedding in our room. Another item is the heater to warm up the room while you enjoy your supper. Much can be said about the menu, there is always good home cooking by Lynn and her ladies. It's difficult to highlight anyone dish. The salads are freshly prepared and are not soggy lettuce and tomatoes. The mains, chicken pie always good, sliced leg of lamb with mint sauce calls you back for more. Fresh vegetables vary, cauliflower and Brussel sprouts in cream cheese sauce was served. The pumpkin fritters is a firm favourite with most diners, a tad too oily for my palette. Desert is also varied and tasty. Lynn prepares this on a daily basis. There are also freshly prepared "vetkoek", goes well with anyone of the jams on offer. A nice filter coffee is served. Breakfast is varied, cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit, eggs prepared to your order, bacon and sausages, mielie meal porridge with tomatoes and onions gravy. Lynn has showed us a new development that may house an indoor heated pool. We and our families, have been staying here for about ten years, when visiting and returning from the Cape. I highly recommend a stay over, this is the place to be.

What a beautiful place with Lynn and her team making us feel at home. Dinner was amazing. But I didn't have a good night's sleep. I'm not a paranormal investigator..... but the 2 little girls and the scary old lady were unpleasant, uninvited guests 🤣

This is an excellent overnight stop between JHB and the Garden Route or Cape Town. The rooms are homely but the real winner is the food, the dinner is authentic farm food that is simply incredible, top chefs would do well experiencing the flavours on offer here. Probably the best chicken pie you’ll ever eat !!

Homely and rustic. Food is home style cooking but my veggies were burnt. Cosy, rustic bar, restaurant, help yourself to breakfast and dinner. Need softer pillows and better tv service

Lynn was amazing, she was so accommodating with us arriving after 8pm. The supper on arrival was lovely, and the service great. The room was beautifully decorated with plush linen, tea, coffee and rusks with a bar fridge. It was sad to arrive in the dark and leave in the dark as it looked like a place with character and lovely attention to detail. Such a pleasure to be right off the N1 to save time and real value for money. This will definitely be our new favourite stop along this route.

🫤 Lovely place! Just a pity about the behaviour of some of the young staff members after finishing their shift at the restaurant (9pm in the evenings. Woke us up both nights with their rowdinesss & swearing. Had to get up & go speak to them. No respect for the guests whatsoever. Manager didn't seem to...

👍👍 The best stopover between Pretoria and Plettenberg if you have dogs. 35km South of Colesberg on a sheep/ game farm. Only about 1.5 km of gravel road to the Lodge.
