steak and tomato soup were very good! but cappuccino had whipped cream from supermarket instead of milk foam, that was terrible. don't drink coffee there, better find a nearby Cafe for dessert and coffee.

The food was good, but not special. The waiter was extremely impolite with a tendency to become even aggressive! He was constantly switching from English to German and wanted to make us feel uncomfortable. He made several mistakes, misunderstood the order, but didn't even think of making a simple apology! It is really a shame places like this to spoil the overall good impression of Cologne!

I had a rather disappointing experience. The service left much to be desired, with a rude and unprofessional waiter who seemed more interested in being bothersome than in serving. Additionally, we ordered 200 and 300-gram fillets that turned out to be identical, both raw despite requesting medium. Despite asking for a change from baked potatoes to French fries, we were served both incorrect sides and were charged a high price for the hardly sufficient portion of fries we received. The lack of communication was evident from the start, as they didn't even bother to inquire how I preferred my meat cooked. I had to repeat my order multiple times before the waiter seemed to pay attention. Furthermore, the bread they offered as an appetizer only served to increase the wait for the food. Our choice of ham with melon was also ill-fated, as the melon lacked flavor and freshness. In summary, my experience at Toro Negro restaurant was awful, and I have no intention of returning in the future.

Terrible service. The waiter didn't make any effort to speak in English (or even Spanish as the name suggests). Prepare to argue about the price because he will try to charge you more than is on the menu.

Niam niam, very tasty lionstake, sidings were delicious, butter nice, service fast and polite. Prices reasonable.

I recently dined at El Toro Negro, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. The steak was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with delicious flavors and cooked to perfection. One of the worst experiences ever in Germany. I was with my family, we had already been to another cafe nearby and they had eaten there, hence I was alone in ordering a meal while they wanted drinks and dessert here. The waiter (old guy) who was nice enough when handing the menus, told us extremely rudely that we "must order food not just drinks" (contrary to the fact that I had already ordered schnitzel and fries and was ordering 2 desserts and 2 beers along with). Got up and left immediately.

The steak was cooked perfectly!! ..If you consider medium to be medium rare, which they do in Europe. We also ordered sautéed mushrooms..garlicky and delicious. This place is kind of small next to the touristy places next door or down the street but the steaks were excellent and the service was great.

Filet steak with very nice appetizers, potato, salad and bread was very delicious. Service is slow as usual at Cologne and could be more friendly but good price for an unexpected nice night when everywhere is full. Also red wine is recommended.

ATTENTION: only cash !!! The waiter didn’t tell us, so we had to find ATM to take money. 0 servies. Meanwhile, one of the best stakes and grilled pork meat with mushroom souse that we’ve ever eaten. The meat was so tender that was melting in the mouth. I strongly recommend. Cozy place.

Absolutely horrible experience. No wine menu (only "red" / "white" / beer as the house recommends) No questions about the cooking of the meat Rump steak hard as a piece of wood. No payment with cards, only cash. Try ask for a receipt and you will get a handwritten paper sheet.

Meat quality was perfect, bread and salad were not so special. Service was not good, the restaurant in understaffed, for some reason the restaurant doesn’t accept Card payments Cash only 🤬. This is unacceptable especially during corona times. We all know why restaurants and shops in Europe don’t accept cards!!

Eindringling ! Be careful! The waiter is very unpleasant, he shouts at customers. The food is bad and they switch menu / order more expensive dishes than the ones you actually want. When I complained at the moment of paying the bill, he tried to say it was my partner’s fault (!!!). I would definitely not recommend this place to anybody.

The food was acceptable. But the service quite unpleasant. The cutlery and the table were dirty and greasy. I saw a hair on my plate... they charged us 6 euros for two glasses of water from the sink and paying with card is not acceptable. Not recommended at all.

The food is excellent, but in the moment that we had to pay the owner he said only you must pay cash cash and the sign in the entrance aceped credit card, he put excuses to acept credit card but he invented a story that the machine was broken, we are tourist and we all had to join each euro between each one.

Don't go there. Food quality varies and it's kind of a jeopardy game if it's eatable or not. NOTICE, they don't take card and can't speak english

Waited for 1,5 hours to have my order taken.. We left, only had 3 drinks in this whole time. Waiter was appologizing to everyone but the other employees where either arguing with customers, didn't seem to really help the waiter. Owner only looked around, didn't help or do anything except order drinks for himself. We felt sorry for the waiter that had to do all the work alone. The food seemed okay at the few tables that did get served.

Decent food, but no bill, just written on papper note - should not be like this in Germany. Tax police?
