This was by far my worst experience with a Marriott property. Upon check-in, my husband and I were told that they didnā€™t have to charge our credit card for incidentals, so we proceeded up to our room. On top of some functionality issues with the room, the telephone did not work which is a huge security and safety concern. It was properly plugged in but inoperable. Further, the television did not work and the room was freezing at 15 degrees Celsius. We decided to call it an early night and went to sleep at 9:00pm. At approximately 10:15-10:30pm, we were awoken by knocking at our door by the front desk associate who checked us in earlier. Fearing that this could be an emergency, I opened the door and was abruptly told that there was a ā€œmistake with the credit cardā€ and I needed to come downstairs to the lobby immediately to swipe my card for incidentals such as mini bar usage. Keep in mind, there is nothing in the fridge in our room except for a note saying to visit the bar if you want something to drink. Iā€™m visibly irritated and cannot believe they would insist on making a guest come downstairs in the middle of the night to charge their card for something they physically canā€™t utilize anyway (no mini bar). I expressed my immense displeasure and told the front desk associate that this is unacceptable, inconsiderate, and disrespectful, to which he just stared at me and slow blinked in annoyance with me. He insisted his manager made him wake me up. This is completely ridiculous and should not be tolerated by Marriott. Guests shouldnā€™t be woken up in the middle of the night over a slight oversight on the staffā€™s part. On top of this horrible experience, the hotel is still under construction, so be prepared for construction noises in the morning and thereā€™s only a few rooms available since theyā€™re still building. Not sure why theyā€™d open for business when the business itself isnā€™t even finished. The price may seem cheaper than other Marriott properties closer to city center, but Iā€™d strongly recommend paying the extra money and staying at one of those more established locations. I should note, the only redeemable quality about this stay was the amazingly kind front desk associate we met in the morning (didnā€™t catch her name, but she was wonderful). Sheā€™s the only reason Iā€™m giving this hotel one star and wish I could give her the recognition she deserves.

Hotel is in the middle of modernization. The potential in the future is there, but at the moment you have to expect harassment and problems. A positive highlight - the staff! Friendly and competent.

I had a nice stay here for two nights. The room was clean and comfortabe. They cleaned it well between nights. The location is further out from the centre but there is a tram nearby so it's pretty easy to get places. I can't comment on thw breakfast because I didn't get it there but it looked like a really nice place to eat and they serve until 11 which is good for those that like to sleep in. Check out time is also later than some other places I've been to which is nice.
