Lovely shop and museum! This place is a delight, and for someone who often gets headaches from perfumes, this place was a surprise! A slightly citrus scent, the original blend is beautiful, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. Very interesting history! Museum tour is also reasonably priced (I think €8 for a 45min tour).

The original cologne from Cologne and perfume museum. Nice fragrance but not long lasting. Good souvenir to bring back home. The store is beautiful and sells other original fragrances. Walking distance to other sites.

I took the historical costume tour. That was nice and informing. Had chance to smell some ingredients before they are mixed or diluted. They also give you a small perfume they make. Lasts about 45 minutes

This place gives you a historical background about why the cologne water is called so :) personally I did not know before. There is a variety of the cologne original perfume, there is a free sample near the door available for visitors to try, you can buy as well the smallest sized bottle which costs only 8€ at time of visit, the personal there is very friendly and can speak good English and french as well.

I had a nice visit to their shop. Unfortunately, I could not do the museum tour. The staff were super friendly explaining fragrance types and showing around.

That is place responsible for why Cologne (perfume) is called Cologne. The oldest perfume brand in the world. A place full of history.

I didn’t expect too much before I walked into the museum, after all, the poster of Russian Leader perfume that displays at the entrance just sounds a little bit vulgar. But I was totally wrong!! Ms. Chang(Xiao Jing?) gave us an excellent 1 hour tour which includes all the knowledge of perfume and the history of Eau de Cologne(its the name of the product, not a type of perfume). From her tour, I was not only able to know the history of Farina family, but also can feel the pride/faith/mission of this company. Very eye opening and inspirational. I was also very touched by that this museum gave everyone who join the tour a small perfume sample as a gift, which keeps the same tone as 300 years ago. In the old days, one Eau de Cologne could cost you nearly 3000euro in current price. OMG!! Highly recommend it!!!

Lovely shop with friendly staff. The cologne of course smells great as well. We had just missed the start of an English tour (there are two a day) but will definitely go back next time we are in the city.

I really enjoyed the tour and learned many interesting aspects about the production of perfume. It’s a nice, light unisex cologne, in my opinion.

The museum is small but the staff is very helpful. We missed the guided tour and couldn't wait till the next one so the shop assistant explained the content of the tour in brief and showed us around.

Make sure you check out the tour offered, I recommend the historical one with an actor in period dress! It's entertaining, really informative and the little gift at the end is lovely. This store/museum is one of Colognes hidden treasures!

Beautiful shop with kind and well informed vendors that help you chose the best suitable gift. They offer great packaging and leaflets in many languages in case you need to send your present abroad. Cosy shop, with a beautiful history and tradition.

A piece of history, right here in cologne. The original store where the cologne was born, the name is now synonymous with (men's) perfume. The classic cologne has a very pleasant smell and is unisex. A good souvenir and also a great perfume to buy for special occasions. Not very expensive. The smallest bottle coats 8euro, then the roll on for 13 and the spray starts at 27. There is a museum which you can visit at extra cost. Do not miss the store if you go to cologne.

The gentleman (Farina) improved the world a little more so we humans back in those days can stand each other better (at least from BO standpoint).

You’ll see a lot of signs for 4711 around Cologne but don’t let that mislead you - this is the birthplace of Eau de Cologne. The guided tour is definitely worth doing once, and the original unisex cologne is amazing. Great scent and the bottle (50ml) lasts forever.

Very interesting story and helpful staff. Bought several for souvenirs. Was surprised how nice the scent is and everyone likes the scent and history lesson.
