This is a central train station with multiple direct trains from/to the airport. But still, lots of stations don't support wheelchair entrance or even escalators!! If you have big luggage or some disability, it would be your nightmare and unfortunately for lots of addresses people have to use this station. It's one of the Cologne train stations, serving many regional and commuter trains, and an increasing number of long-distance trains. If you are unlucky and arrive at or depart from platform #12, prepare yourself for a hike up and down flights of stairs. There is no escalator or elevator leading to or from that platform; a total disaster, especially for mobility impaired people. The DB and City of Cologne should immediately change this untenable situation.

Overall, this station is conveniently located for trade shows/conventions How to access platforms/tracks 11-12 signage could be much better. Currently, the signs show that you can access 11-12 via 4 different routes... what they don't seem to communicate is that you go up on any platform and then down the other side... to reach another section of the station to access these platforms/tracks. Note: tracks 11-12 run perpendicular to tracks 1-10... I found that to access track 12 from the messe/conventions, you can just stay at ground level and walk counterclockwise around... this is super easy if you have a bag in tow... as the suggested tour has several sets of stairs. (There may also be a way to access track 11 from track 12 without stairs from this point... I saw signage but didn't verify).

Came from Frankfurt airport with a load of baggage and there is no lift or escalators in the platform. Only steps and everybody is struggling. Not sure what people on wheel chairs will do. It's not out of service; it's simply doesn't exist. It's a shame for such a popular station.

Hands down the worst station in all of Europe. Seating is almost non-existent, it's filthy, and worst of all it's almost impossible to find your platform in a timely fashion. Sure they have a big board ...which only shows the next 15-20 minutes and never scrolls down. When trains are delayed, they take over the whole board. I almost missed my 12:37 train because the board wasn't showing anything past 12:22 and the DB people only just got back from lunch. No info, no help, no point. Avoid this station.

I had a horrible experience using this train station trying to connect from Frankfurt to DĆ¼ren. There were no elevators to help with my luggage, so I had to carry the bags, many times, up and down, to and fro. I really wish an elevator could be installed there to help commuters. Also, this Bahnhof lacks appealing aesthetics. However the case, it's usually less busy compared to the bigger Kƶln Hauptbahnhof

When changing trains to platforms 11 or 12 and coming from the west, the rear of the arriving train is closer to the exit for those platforms

Fine if you are able-bodied and alone. An absolute nightmare if you are mobility impaired, nearly impossible if you are in a wheelchair. Grateful that I never had to get a train here when my son was in a stroller.

The access to the train tracks 11/12 is not clearly marked when you enter the Station via regional train.

This could be the worst long distance train station there is. Itā€™s such a pain to carry the luggage up and down the stairs here. And most long distance trains donā€™t go to the hbf

This is a train station located near the famous LANXESS Arena. This has also access for U Bahn station underground. Many RE / NE / S.Bahn & ICE trains stop at the station.

The train station is okay. Unremarkable mostly. What is good is that if you're arriving in Cologne and need to walk across the bridge over the Rhine River to your hotel for example, it can make for a great introduction to Cologne, as you will be met with the river, the bridge and the impressive, Cologne Cathedral as you arrive into the city.

The organisational disability of the train station personell and the derelict state of eletrical and service infracstructure means that one should avoid this station at all costs, as layovers caused by inevitably missed connections means a forced stay in one of the most unpleasant and unsafe areas in all of Cologne, beaten only of course by the only alternative, though at least the main station seems to receive occasional maintence and minimally trained controllers.

Kƶln Messe/Deutz stationĀ (calledĀ Kƶln-DeutzĀ until November 2004,Ā Colognian:Ā DĆ¼x,Ā pronouncedĀ [dŹks]) is an important railway junction for long-distance rail and local services in theĀ CologneĀ district of Deutz in the German state ofĀ North Rhine-Westphalia. It is situated close to the eastern bank of theĀ RhineĀ and connected via theĀ Hohenzollern BridgeĀ toĀ Kƶln Hauptbahnhof, the city's main station, which is just a few hundred metres away. TheĀ Cologne Trade FairĀ (German:Ā Koelnmesse) grounds are directly north of the station, hence theĀ MesseĀ in the station's name. TheĀ StadtbahnĀ station ofĀ Deutz/MesseĀ is nearby and connected by a pedestrian tunnel.

The front entrance is pretty impressive from an architectural point of view. I first ended up here when changing from the S-bahn from the airport to the U-bahn to my hotel (although there are a lot of lines intersecting here, they're all clearly signposted). Then I took a train to Bonn, virtually all trains from the main train station pass through here so it was more convenient. In every German station you can find two timetables of arrivals & departures in chronological order all over the place, with platform numbers, meaning finding your train is easy even if, like me, you can't speak German. Similar to the system in France, Italy, Poland, etc.

Itā€˜s a lovely station, but it can get crowded at rush hours. I wished the bakeries or food stuff to be a bit closer to the Platforms as it is only at the front main entrance. Overall a super nice location even to look out for trains!

Nice clean station. There are few places where you can eat too. McDonald's, Subway, Bakery.. the platforms are all signposted clearly and the display board is big and clear. Right now there's an exhibition that pictures disabled people at work. It is really inspirational and great to see.

To get from one platform to another you have to go up and down multiple staircases and there are no escalators or elevators AT ALL. If you have a disability, are carrying heavy suitcases or are bringing a stroller this station is a nightmare. For quite a busy station I expected better.
