Ich wurde von 03/2020 - 10/2020 als Patientin im Bereich der gynäkologischen Onkologie im Heilig Geist Krankenhaus behandelt. Mit einem beidseitigen Mammakarzinom ("Brustkrebs") habe ich mich bewusst gegen die langjährigen und ggw. (noch) bekannteren Brustzentren der Uniklinik Köln oder in Holweide und für die Frauenklinik im Heilig Geist-Krankenhaus entschieden - und dies keine Sekunde bereut. Mit Dr. Fridrich, Fr. Dr. Kirn und Fr. Dr. Boor haben mir von der Diagnosestellung, über die Chemotherapie bis hin zu zwei Brustoperationen drei Ärzte an der Seite gestanden, die mich jederzeit mit höchster fachlicher und menschlicher Kompetenz, mit Sorgfalt und Ernst in der Sache, mit Herz und Humor im Umgang, mit Zeit und Ruhe in der Beratung und - nicht zuletzt entscheidend - einem Erfolg im Therapieprozess durch diese herausfordernde Zeit begleitet haben. Ich habe noch nie erlebt, dass Ärzte sich so viel Zeit für Gespräche und eine individuelle, auf meine Person zugeschnittene Begleitung genommen haben. Nie stand dabei nur mein Krankheitsbild, sondern immer auch "Ich" und damit der gesunde Anteil meiner Person im Mittelpunkt. Diese Erfahrung bezieht das ganze Team der Frauenklinik (vom Empfang, dem Sekretariat, die Krankenschwestern etc.) mit ein. Oft waren es die kleinen Dinge, die Großes zu erzählen hatten und einen Unterschied machten (wertschätzende Kommunikation mit einem Lächeln, rücksichtsvolle Terminplanung, verständliche Information und Erklärung der Befunde, unkomplizierte Vernetzung mit anderen Fachdisziplinen, engmaschige empathische Begleitung etc.). Wenn ein Chefarzt zu Corona-Zeiten nach einem 30 minütigen Aufklärungs- und Beratungsgespräch, das aus verständlichen Gründen nur mit mir allein geführt werden konnte, noch mit vors Krankenhaus kommt, um den dort wartenden Angehörigen mit Ruhe, Freundlichkeit und Kompetenz noch einmal alle wichtige Informationen zu geben und ihre Fragen zu beantworten, sagt dies Vieles über die Grundkultur und Werte/ Wertschätzung in der Abteilung. Auch mit beiden vollstationären Aufenthalten auf der gynäkologischen Station 3A nach beiden Brust-OP's war ich sehr zufrieden. Ich bin hier als Patientin nicht nur angemessen versorgt, sondern menschlich umsorgt worden. Von der hohen Kompetenz der Anästhesieschwestern (u.a. wegen Medikamentenallergien), über einem unkomplizierten Zimmerwechsel bis hin zu schmerztherapeutischen Tipps der Stationsleitung gab es immer wieder kleine Dinge oberhalb des medizinischen Goldstandards, die mich positiv überraschten. Einzig der Empfang des KH kann sich in Punkto Freundlichkeit und Willkommenskultur gerne noch weiterentwickeln. Ich wünsche jedem Krebspatienten solche Räume um durchzuatmen, Sorgen zu verkleinern, aus Ängsten auszusteigen und auf dem Boden des Vertrauens in ein Wachstum eigener Kräfte zu finden. Das Team und Feld der Frauenklinik war auf diesem Weg ein "Heilungsbiotop" für mich. Weniger nicht!

I had a very positive experience of both a laparoscopy here 2 years ago and the delivery of our first son a few days ago. After being transferred from the birthing center due to strong but ineffective contractions, I was lovingly welcomed and cared for by the delivery room team of wonderful midwives and doctors at the Holy Spirit Hospital. I was always sufficiently informed, the examinations were justified and a lot of time was taken for my questions, concerns and fears. After the birth, an intensive bonding phase was made possible and the team was there to help and advise us. Thanks to the great work of the whole team, I found the birth to be very self-determined and fulfilling despite the transfer and a total of 36 hours of labor and would definitely give birth here again. A huge thank you for making this possible, dear obstetrics team, you are wonderful!

Ich habe im Mai dieses Jahres meinen Sohn dort entbunden. Die Geburtenstation hat zum Glück kein typischen Krankenhaus Charakter, sondern man hat sich wirklich Mühe gegeben um es 'gemütlich' zu machen. Egal ob während der 40 Stunden wehen oder der 2 Tage nach der Geburt. Jede Hebamme, Ärztin etc. die nach uns schaute, war immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Vorallem bei den Hebammen im Kreissaal fühlte man sich nie als wäre man nur eine von vielen, sondern es wurde sich wirklich intensiv um einen gekümmert. Und auch nach der Geburt stand immer jemand für Rat und Tat zur Stelle. Die Zimmer und Badezimmer waren stets sauber. Zum Frühstück hatte man sogar ein Buffet und das Essen war essbar ( ich persönlich hatte eh keinen Hunger) ;) Jeder werdenden Mami kann ich die Station im Heilig Geist Krankenhaus nur wärmstens empfehlen.

There were of course a few Corona-related restrictions when it came to accompaniment/visits, but I think we still had a relatively good time. I was in ward 3a for 3 days because of a hysterectomy and I can only say that I felt really well looked after there. The nurses there are very helpful and friendly and will take care of any concerns immediately. Huge praise goes to the doctor who operated on me and did it so well that I was allowed to go home just 2 days after the operation. A big thank you goes to the anesthetist, who always said good things to me and stroked my shoulder reassuringly during the preparation for the operation until the actual anesthesia. What was really remarkable about my stay was the influenza B illness that I caught on the way to the cesarean section because a man (without a mask) sniffled directly in my face and pushed me into the operating room.
