But since these things aren't exactly cheap, I wanted to be sure whether it was really the right thing for me. I then found what I was looking for on the website rb-adventuresports.de. Several tours were offered and I decided on the 5-hour tour across the Rhine, past Cologne. Contact was quickly made with René Breitenbach, whose charisma in the pictures immediately impressed me. And so it was. We met on Saturday at the Rheinbogen and the first plus point was that René was willing to do the tour with me alone, despite the cancellation of two clients. Wow, I thought, that's classy. When we arrived on the shore, we unpacked the boats and he explained to me in detail how everything had to be set up and what you had to pay particular attention to. And then it began. First he showed me various exercises in the eddies and soon I was moving along the Rhine with the current. For me as an absolute greenhorn, a real emotion.
