Words cannot express the kind of joy I had when I took the first bite. I absolutely loved a good crab curry with a proper rice and curry spread which was and I found the perfect place for it. They have a variety of sea food options to choose from, served with unlimited white or red rice and 4 vegetable curries as well as pappadam fried chilli and rasam. The crab rice and curry was priced at 1350Rs. My nose was running by the end and that's a sign that the crab curry was a success. I could taste the northern cuisine, with all the Spices and flavours, this was indeed a very delightful meal. The ambience is a very minimal environment where you could sit and eat the food and not a place to hang out and chill. This has become a top favourite food joint of mine and I highly recommend food lovers to try this place out.

Real Jaffna style authentic food items. They have some delicious Jaffna style curries including Mutton , Prawns, Cuttlefish, Chicken & Crabs. Serve meals on a banana leaves. Clean place with a quick service & a great customer care. Reasonable price with card payment options too available. Small place with limited seating capacity. Have a limited parking space as well along the road side. Highly Recommended Restaurant.

It's the famous Yarl Eat house.. Place to satisfy your jaffna food craving.. It's famous for its curries.. Chicken.. Mutton.. Cuttle fish.. And the fried Jaffna Crab..for lunch they serve good rice and curry.. Then for dinner they have paratha rotti.. Parking is bit of an issue here.. Now with he road being one way its a bit OK..many pretenders have come and gone.. But Yarl Eat House has remained the go to Yarl food joint around wellawatte..

By far my favourite spot in Colombo especially Wellawatte for meals. Hands down they have the best prices in town and an extraordinary service. The staffs treat the customers with utmost respect. The dining environment is clean as it can be at all times. Quick service along with reasonable pricing. Quality & clean meals with perfect spicing keeping it very traditional. They also serve meals in Banana leaves while dining in which is the best traditional experience anyone can ask for. Family friendly environment and parking space is available as well. Variety of options to choose from at any given time. VISA/MASTER card payment option is available as well. Highly recommended to everyone.

It's not a fashionable place but the food is delicious. My son had the crab curry Rs 1750 and my husband had the rice and curry with country chicken Rs 800

Traditional tamil food items are available in affordable price🤗. Pottu with omlet and naattu chicken curry is delicious. All kind of tamil traditional foods like pottu, idiyappam , pottu kotthu, idiyappa kotthu are available. There are varieties of curries like chicken,mutton, naattu chicken, crab, prawn, cuttlefish, dry fish specially nethali, omlet , egg are available😍. Clean hotel and tables are clean. Waiters take orders fast and serve fast.

Love the place. Mouth watering dishes especially pittu and mutton curry. Small place and the place can get crowded at times. Staff are ok but busy. The dishes are not expensive. Excellent place. Update- visited the place in Feb 2022. The quality is the same if not better. I wished I stayed longer in Colombo to try all the food. But will visit again.

One of the best spot for crab/shrimp/mutton curry with Pittu/ Rice/paratha. The service is amazing, the moment you sit, you are served with unlimited curries only have to pick main curry. Servers are very attentive and very fast. Prices are worth of food. Clean seating area. Highly recommend crab, omlet, shrimp, mutton with pittu.

I recently visited this restaurant in search of authentic Jaffna cuisine, with a specific craving for their seafood and chicken dishes. However, I regret to say that my experience was far from satisfactory. Under the new management, the food quality has significantly declined, leaving much to be desired. The dishes I ordered lacked the distinctive and mouthwatering flavors that I had come to associate with Jaffna cuisine. It was evident that the care and attention to detail that once made this place exceptional were now absent. The flavors were underwhelming, leaving me disappointed and longing for the authentic taste I had been expecting. Moreover, the prices of the dishes did not match the quality provided. The portions were smaller than before, and the overall value for money was simply not there. It was disheartening to witness such a decline in both taste and value under the new management.

the curry crab is so fresh and delicious!! But very very spicy for me as a tourist ( I’m generally a high spicy tolerant person) glad I came here instead of going to touristy ministry of crab.

Great place to have tamil style foods. They serve with banana leave. You don't have to wait. Tasty foods for cheap prices. I would like to give for stars. But they need to be more consider about the quality of foods. Quality of foods are good but not great. You can bring kids and ladies to this place. Its safe environment.

Good taste. Upstairs services are sometimes delaying due to long term working waiter. You will finish your meals when he deliver the Omlet. One of the best places to enjoy Jaffna cuisine. They have many non-vegan dishes. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the price is very reasonable.

Got Christmas lunch- 2 portions of crab curry and seafood fried rice. Called Mr. Angelo and informed him early and he was sweet enough to keep it ready when I went to collect. The crab curry was too spicy but liked the fried rice. It has a lot of cuttlefish in it.

Got a chicken string hopper kottu through pick me. Large portion. Had enough chicken in it. But most of them were chicken parts like heart and gizzard. Other than that there ware plenty of bones. However it was really tasty (and spicy. )

Not like past Yarl, just brinjal, dhal, and one curry. We got a mutton curry and they were not washed properly, a disgusting taste came out. No varieties of curries and they were all cold. It was a nice experience to have a dinner in Yearl Eat Houses. Food was very delicious and clean service from the shop representatives. The parking was bit full at that time but could manage with help of the security and I can suggest this place for you to try out.

Ordered set parottas , ghee parottas, omlette curry, and kotthus....the worst experience, there were stones or the charcoal from the cooking coming out of the parottas, the packing was a disaster just paper wrapped in papers and put all the items in a shopping bag...the omelette curry was not omlette curry, just gravy in one bag and Omelettes wrapped separately...this is not the correct time to throw food, however despite that had to take a hard decision to discard it. Sorry nothing impressed me about this restaurant. Quality - Nil, Packaging - Nil, overall rating is very poor. Please do some justice to the money you charge. Hope the restaurant takes this seriously and try to improve the services and the quality of food.

Difficult to park a vehicle along this narrow road. Food is delicious and at reasonable price though it can vary day by day. Several non vegetarian dishes are available. Take away and in house dining facilities were both available. Serving was fast and friendly.

Serves traditional Jafna style food served in a banana leaf. Did not live up to the hype it has on the internet. The cuttlefish was good. Prawns and chicken were ok. The plus, the food is served real quick. Good for a quick meal. Should improve on cleanliness. Pricing is ok but slightly towards the expensive side considering the quality of food and ambiance.

Very good and tasty food, Curry Chicken, Crab Curry were my favourites, however all their curries are good, Pittu in the evening is a must try. Also the service is fast.
