Stumbled across this place on our first night in Sri Lanka as I heard the live music playing so we tried it out. I’m so glad we did, as it is a little hidden gem. The entertainment was amazing, and the side street bar/restaurant area is a beautiful place to sit. The food quality was brilliant, and the waiters did whatever they could to assist. The price for food is fair (in my opinion). Thanks for a lovely start to our trip.

My wife and I really loved this place. There was live music and the ambiance was quite pleasant. The staff was absolutely attentive and helpful and kind. They made the experience much better. I thought the food was in generous portions, especially considering the price. My only negative would be the parking situation, which is none existent. What i mean is, you need to hope there is a slot on the side of the road. The road, though a main one is slightly narrow and vehicles trying to pass that area aren't exactly kind or patient. Other than the parking situation, i had a lovely time. The musician playing that evening did quite a nice job as well.

Giovanni's Pizza is a great place to eat in Colombo. The restaurant has a calm and inviting atmosphere, with a pretty courtyard setting. I visited with my brother and we tried the Creamy Mushroom Fettuccine with Ginger Beer, which was delicious. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the cheese-serum was flavorful. The ginger beer added a nice touch of sweerness. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. They made sure that we had everything we needed and that our meal was enjoyable. Overall, I had a great experience at Giovanni's Pizza and I would definitely recommend it to others..! ❤️🍝

This review is for takeaway pizza. Great service with a smile. The pizza oven was blazing hot and l must give it to the pizza chefs and staff that are in that section of the establishment as it was already quite warm outside let alone right next to the wood oven = WOW…. The pizza was quick to be ready, crisp and tasty. I definitely want to come back and try some pasta dishes and dine in as the restaurant looks really nice in the evening time. So l came back on a Sunday afternoon after a trip from Ella and this time l chose to dine in…happy welcoming once again and the restaurant has a Great feeling and vibe. There’s plenty of different seating options. Great warm colour scheme which definitely makes it inviting and homely. I ordered the seafood spaghetti & the caprese salad….the seafood spaghetti was packed full of flavour and along with the refreshing salad these two meals were homely and so tasty.

It was a really welcoming atmosphere throughout the restaurant. Food was excellent. I have to say it's the best pizza in all of Sri Lanka from what I've had. If you are looking for authentic Italian pizza, this is the place. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The best service I've received in a restaurant in Colombo. The owner was especially friendly having a chat with us and offering some tips for our trip. We made the mistake of thinking it's the regular type of pizza you get in Colombo, and ended up having too much to eat. I'd say 2 pizzas are enough for 6 people.

In Colombo, Giovanni's is a staple spot. Although their specialty is pizza, they also provide other Italian dishes (Vegetarian included). Their unique selling point in comparison to other restaurants would be the wood fire method and toppings they offer. And also for some reason, the setting is special and warm. It truly feels like you have entered someone's home because the servers are so hospitable and appear so normal. Although I don't find it an issue, other people might not like that pizza would become a bit wet quickly after a little while. Overall, though, it's a great place to satisfy your appetites for Italian food.

This is an amazing location with a fantastic atmosphere right in the heart of Colombo. I was impressed by the ambiance and the warm and accommodating nature of both the owner and the staff. The place becomes even more enchanting on weekends with live music. The pizzas are absolutely delectable, especially for pork enthusiasts who should definitely try the Charlie Pizza and Salvage. I also really enjoyed the Spicy Chicken Pizza. As for beverages, I recommend the Naran & Passion Fruit Juice. It's important to note that parking your vehicles is done at your own risk on the roadside. All in all, it offers a wonderful dining experience for both friends and family.

Went there with a bunch of friends, did a pre booking and staff was happy to arrange a nice place. Hats off to the staff, always with a smile and so energetic. You'll get the best vibes there, really loved it. They even have live music later in the evening. Although parking, there was no parking space, on the side of the road but it wasn't a big deal. Pizza was good, maybe my taste buds differs, not my favorite pizza, liked Arthur's better😅 Should say non of us liked the sea food pizza, tasted so "karawala" like. But the rest was good! Oh well I almost forgot that their staff dropped a plate from upstairs by mistake almost onto one of our friends head :3

Giovanni's provides a cozy atmosphere, making it a nice spot to hang out with friends. Although not spacious, the live singer added a pleasant touch to the ambiance. The dim lighting created a relaxed setting, and the food was exceptional, making the overall experience enjoyable.

Family dinner at this wonderful place. Atmosphere was great with the live music. Food was fairly good! This was my second visit here and a must try if you're in the area.

If you wanna try the best pizza in town, this is the place for you to go. You can get superb food and everyday around 7pm live music is there for you and goes around until 11pm. Normally, Giovanni's opens at 4pm in the evening but on weekends it goes 11am onwards. The wood oven pizza here are the best you can get and you get fresh stuff. If you're going to giovanni's don't forget to try the homemade ginger beer as well. Even for a vegetarian, you can find plenty of options over here.

Giovanni's Pizza is a Nice and comfy atmosphere even though sitting aside busy roads in Thimbirigasyaya. Staff is super friendly, wood fired Pizza's Nice dishes with adequate portions. Overall quality is very good . They offer Vine and Dine as well as outside Liquors . Live Music available at Evening's

Giovanni’s had a great ambience. It had two separate areas where you can dine inside in the quiet or dine outside with all the buzz and music. The place was beautifully decorated for Christmas. There is no designated parking space but can park along the roadside. The place is quiet busy. Waiters are quite attentive and helpful and service was quick. The pizza I tried was loaded with various meat which I can’t remember the name and was soggy and it literally had water/oil seaping through the pizza slices which is the reason I am rating low.

Best pizza in Sri Lanka. The vegetarian pizzas are so good too!! Been trying their pizzas for the past 7, 8 years and the quality remains the same.

First I went for a coffee during the day, was lovely. The staff were so friendly and looked after me so well. Enjoyed it so much I went back in the evening and had a lovely meal. Very pretty courtyard setting. Seemed popular as well because a few people there. Staff and service fantastic.

Delicious Pizza and Pasta matched by a fantastic and authentic Italian hideaway restaurant ambience and super friendly and personal service. The burrata and melanzane are fantastico. Bravo to Dimuthu,the hardworking and enterprising owner!

The atmosphere was very warm and pleasant. The place is small and homey, very clean and the staff were super friendly and very efficient. They did a great job. The food we ordered arrived within 10 minutes and it was all delicious. The pizza was a little too oily but you could taste the Italian herbs and spices. The bacon pizza was amazing. There was little seating area though, and the washroom wasnt all that great.

Best place to get yummy pizza... Good staff.. Very crowded at weekends.. But you can enjoy with music.. Foods are very delicious and fresh.. You can use liquor here... Everything is good i highly recommended this place for pizza lovers... Street Parking as available.. Prices are reasonable...

I recently dined here and tried their salvage pizza - it was incredibly yummy and delicious. They offer refreshing drinks like Narang and homemade ginger beer. The restaurant has a great ambience with live music, creating a wonderful dining experience.

We went on a Saturday night to have dinner here. Vehicle parking was a little bit difficult as we had to park at the street. The place had a considerable crowd and the atmosphere was lovely and lively both. The energy in there was really good and have to appreciate the live music they provided and hats-off to the guitarist🫡 The food was top notch👌 10/10 I rate them. All the pizzas we ordered were delivered within 10-15 mins wait and with the crowd there that night, I’d say the service is pretty amazing. All the pizzas were so much hot and fresh as they just came out of the oven. The taste was also unique and vivid. I recommend the place so much for a group of friends who are looking to have a drink and catch-up while eating fresh Italian dinner or also recommend for couples who lookout for a romantic dinner out. Keep the good stuff up Giovanni🫶

I recommend dine in because the first time I tried Giovanni’s it was through a delivery order and it wasn’t very efficient. Then thought to give it another chance because so many people kept recommending it and went to dine it and I’m so glad I did. It’s such a cute space with fairy lights and wooden tables covered with checked cloth. Love the little garden area to the right with the passion fruit vines, its like the Sri Lankan version of a lemon garden in Capri. And of course the food is great! Yummy pizza and even better garlic bread, and love their brownie as well

Simply could be the best in Colombo. Ordered a half and half with mushrooms and four cheese and it was an excellent combo. The pizzas were rich in favors and the crust was thin and crunchy. Ample amount of cheese and the base wasn’t soggy. The place is nice and comfy. Outdoor seating is available and most of the time packed with the crowd. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Price is fair compared to what they offer. The only issue was with the parking and other than that everything was simply superb.

The ambiance at this Italian restaurant was truly exquisite. We had a great time, and the staff was incredibly friendly. We even enjoyed live music during dinner. The food was delicious and quite filling, but I couldn’t help but feel that it didn’t offer anything particularly unique compared to other Italian restaurants we’ve visited.

The food was amazing. Specially the Salvage pizza. Crust was thin and tasty and I hope that is how a pizza should be. The topping was amazing and it was so full of flavor. The lasagna was amazing too. Each and every bite was so interesting. There were some repairs going on. That is why I think the environment today was so chaotic. Stewards were here and there and were not in focus. Seating was clogged and the environment was so noisy. However, there was live music when we arrived. Definitely will return for take away or delivery. Not sure will come back for dine in 🤷‍♂️

Nice cozy place with soothing music that will complete the evening.... the pizza's are with cheese combination that include tomato and other varieties of veggies ***** 5 starts for that. Great thin crust pizza in Colombo. But Not halal, as the pork and ham are servied.🙁 So make sure to ask them to separate your order when preparing. 🙏 service was fast and the servers were helpful and quick. enjoyed the evening... stay safe.

The place was fully packed with people(we went on a Friday night). Even the road side is also packed with people. The owner is a super kind person. Parking should be done adjoining the road in front of the shop. The pizzas are put into a wood fire to get it cooked.

Probably the best pizza in Colombo and their Antipasto platter is the best to pair with a bottle of bubbly or wine.

What a place. We had the bacon pizza. Delicious. Much better than pizza hut or anyother pizza place. Live music in weekend make it even better and its BYOB. Superb place. Highly recommended.

Had the spicy chicken pizza and the seafood pizza and the food was great, and in terms of the beverages the homemade ginger beer is highly recommended. The service and the staff were excellent. One of the only downsides to the place is there is parking available only alongside the road and it's almost always full even if the restaurant itself isn't crowded. It is possible to park a bit close by but almost certainly at your own risk.

Been here twice and wasn't disappointed on either occasion. Great ambience and decor, very romantic, cosy date spot. Food is excellent. Pizzas are very tasty and prices are reasonable. Service is also very good, staff are friendly, fast and attentive.

Great pizzas great times.. Lovely ambience.. Attentive friendly service.. Diverse variety.. Delicious toppings.. Thin crust done well.. Overall a great pizza experience.. Only concern is parking.. Which is only beside the road.. But it's not a location with high traffic.. A must try if you are pizza lover..

The coziest, artsy place to have some of the best pizza on the island! Caprese salad was super fresh and tasted really good. Had a wonderful contrast between the milky fresh mozzarella, olives, tomatoes and capers. Wish they also had a balsamic vinaigrette tho, would’ve taken it up a notch! Their all meat pizza was such a show stopper! Every bite filled generously with heaping amounts of meat and flavor - they are not joking when they say “all meat”.

Loved the Pizza Margarita. The best I have tried so far. Enjoyed the pizza with a glass of white wine. All meat pizza and pesto gnocchi dish was delicious too. Had a starter made with eggplant and it was delicious too.

Visited here for dinner and we were thoroughly disappointed with the service and the taste of the food was nothing more than average. We had to constantly get the attention of the server as he only came to take the order and serve the food. We had to ask for water, the dessert menu (which didn't impress us) etc... Our food wasn't even served together. By the time all the food was served the dish served first was cold. Their version of the bruschetta was not impressive. Two stars for the ambience and the live music but we wouldn't go there for the food as there are better Italian restaurants along with better service in Colombo. Has lots of potential. Good luck

Service staff is good and offers excellent feedback when ordering. They also leave you alone to enjoy your meal. The pizza is good but the menu could use some specialty pizzas for the day because the menu is quite long

Absolutely love their pizzas and the hospitality. The whole place gives a cozy vibe. They have a few private rooms for bigger crowds, so you can play your own music etc... Meat platter is worth the money.

the best in town. We ordered a large margerita pizza and something similar to lasagna, and we got the lasagna-pasta for totally free of charge as a gift!!! And the service is second to none!! Very friendly and generous people. Thank you so much Giovanni’s. We will definitely come again!
