WORST customer service EVER!!!! We had organized a bridal shower on Sunday(09.08.2020) morning, and 2 of us went there on Saturday(08.08.2020) to talk about it and to finalize. They said everything is okay and we even paid for food and took the bill. But on the very next morning, when we went there, they showed the most arrogant way of saying they cannot give the place!!!! How is this even possible? But ironically they said they can’t cancel the order, so they ate our money. We had to find a place by ourselves within few minutes! Think about how it must’ve felt when we thought everything was ready but last moment they did such an immature behavior. The person in charge on Sunday was the worst! NEVER EVER EVER GO TO THIS PLACE EVER!

It's a great place to buy cake for any occasion and shots eats .The service is good and variety of selections. The food is awesome and delicious and quality value for money. I would recommend this place.

Delicious cakes, sweets and fastfood. Clean and relaxing atmosphere. Helpful carparking attendant. Above average prices but real value for money. Highly recommended for all corporate and family events. Also to have a relaxing break with snacks/drinks in the midst of all hassle around Colombo 3.

Not the Sponge it was used to be. Had overdue cupcakes and bakery products so many times . It was the firs time I have Order rice and lucky i had ask them to serve them in house The staff agreed , and but carelessness shown whe they keep the same package on a plate. I even notive the Unreasonable price hike as the rice was names as chicken fried rice and make it 1400.... Quality of products is not that best as usual.. its to dry and didn't even issue source packs or dish. AND THE RICE HAD A FOLLANDOWN HAIR INSIDE THE CHICKEN CURRY.... The service staff is not as warm as before . I Will not be ordering anything from this place ever. ( Good) buy guys...

NOT WORTH THE PRICE AT ALL!!!! This was my first time ordering from sponge and im really dissapointed. I ordered 2 pieces of cake from uber, given that fact that 1 piece was 155/= I was expecting a decent size, but it was so small, with the 2 pieces combined together can make 1 decent piece, also the taste is also pretty basic nothing outstanding, if its priced at that range atleast either the taste should be outstanding or the customer should have a decent piece. Standard bakeries have cakes tasting the samee for around 60 bucks still those cake slices are bigger than this dwarf slice!!!! Not buying again. Need to definitely make this go viral, for ripling people off.

Convenient location and great atmosphere. They have a wide range of bakery items and snacks available to dine in and take away. Food is absolutely delicious and clean. Their dining area has high chairs and as well as a lounge-like setting. Staff is friendly and provides an efficient service. Prices seems moderate, however it's absolutely worth the overall experience.

Ridiculous prices for mediocre pastries that are really small in size. Not worth the money. The milk tea is sufficient for two people. They have enough parking for 4-5 vehicles and enough seating space for around 30-40 people. Heard good things about their cakes and the service was OK.

Quality shorteats and varieties of savoury available. 👌 pricey foods but there's quality. Love the atmosphere and the seating area to just eat some shorteats. Parking available. Service is great, and online service & delivery timing is great too. Super selection of foods. Halaal shorteats. Located in an ideal place, a must visit for everyone.

Devil's chocolate cake, Belgian chocolate cake and Celebration dessert cake is recommended. They were moist, rich and chocolatyyy. Place is good for solo dates. Can spend some quality, peaceful time, by the busiest Galle Road.

Terrible customer service. I placed an order for LKR 24500. However my cake was labeled with the wrong spelling. I asked them to edit it. They edited it so badly. When I refused to accept it, the cashier NUWAN communicate with most vile and foul language. they never gave the best service for the money we pay. Moreover, they treats the customer very badly. This will first rank among the bitter experiences I have had. I took that cake for my rush. Will never recommend this place to anyone. The worst customer service place in Colombo.

We have purchased many items from sponge for birthday parties. All the time all the sweets and cakes were tasty. Mainly the service is excellent. Staffs are friendly and helpful to full fill your requirements. I received all my orders on time.

Food is good but sadly they use a lot of polythene for packing. That much of packaging is not really needed. Even the tissue was packed in a polythene bag

The customer care is not at all satisfactory. They erroneously noted my order on 22.07.2020 and then charged me on that in a very rude manner.

We ordered this cake on our 1st anniversary. Out of many we chose SPONGE. TRUST ME, We were right. It's the best bakery. Amazing taste, On time delivery, helpful customer care executive. It was a Red Velvet. But it's far better than any other Red Velvet. Try once. You won't regret. No need to say thanks to me THANK THEM.

Customer Service is not that great. I had to wait for a good 20 minutes until someone attended to me and he was so negative about me saying i want this kinda cake design And mainly i gave the order in black and maroon and that was the theme in the party but i got my birthday cake in Navy blue.it ruined my birthday theme.I highly don't recommend this place for your special days cake design.

Very friendly and attentive service exactly what one needs after walking around sightseeing all day. The ginger tea was impressive and perfect for the tea time. Suggest management to add some veggie sandwiches like avocado on toast or cucumber sandwiches.

The quality has dropped drastically. Ordered three slices of coffee cake through pickme. It tasted horrible. The other day I noticed that afish cutlet is 410 rupees on pickme food. Must be some fish no! What a rip off. Not buying again.

Customer Service is not that great. I had to wait for a good 10 minutes until someone attended to me. However, their cakes are good, especially the Baked Chocolate Cheesecake, although a little pricey now.

Do not place the order online through ‘Sponge’ website. Pathetic service. I placed the order 9am delivered 3.15pm. Hotline don’t care customer complaints. They want us to wait till 4pm (till online order time slot ends). Miserable experience (delay and the cold pizzas).

Pastries are quite good here. They offer coffee as well. Ample space to dine in. Service staff is very attentive. Limited space for parking. Have a good collection of cakes. Their chocolate cakes are quite famous.

Not worth the price AT ALL asthey first need to spend some good money on a proper pest control as the sweet section to the left from the entrance had more than 6 German cockroaches in side the food display unit and that is not what we expect from a place that charges very high prices but serves food that were surrounded with cockroaches. Yukk

The staff here are a bit noisy but are very engaged in pleasing the customer. The short eats served here all taste the same as they use the same filling in them(example: chicken Chinese rolls and chicken patty) There are a lot of flies and it would rest and feed from two types of sauce they give customers.

Had the worst ever experience @ Sponge, Colombo 3. To start with, the staff including the manager is so lethargic and un enthusiastic. Not at all friendly and welcoming. To top it all, the espresso they served me, which they are charging 600 bucks, is just Nescafé in hot water. What a rip off. My advice, avoid this place at any cost. They don’t deserve our custom coz they simply don’t care about their customers. But I hope they pull up their socks and treat their customers better in the future.

It is one of the best places to have savouries in colombo but bit on the expensive side yet really worth it 👌 great taste and quality. Highly recommended 👍❤️

The best place to order cakes for special occasions. Very recently I needed to buy a cake for a birthday and write a word in Tamil on the top of the cake. I had tried, may be 15 prominent Cake shops in Colombo. But no one could write it in Tamil. Eventually, I could get it done at Sponge. Though, the staff didn't know the language they managed to do it perfectly.

An excellent place with good food and a good selection of pastries. However be prepared for slow and clumsy service You will be considered invisible for most of the time till they decide to serve you

Order Number 2032617 Writing on the birthday cake was wrong. Lack of attention to details. Online order instructions are again hand written and passed to the kitchen it seems. Otherwise these kind of mistakes cannot happen. NB: Sponge called me to apologize and inquired to rectify the mistake. Management sent me a replacement cake with the correct spellings (Order Number 2032686). Delivered free of charge. Not the same cake twice. 10 years of customer loyalty since 2010 taken to greater heights. Thank you sponge :)

We have ordered a chocolate cake in sponge and added a birthday note... Once we got the order the note was not there. As soon we received,spoke to one of a staff from sponge regarding the past order. And she was very unprofessional and she was not ready to take the responsibility.... bad behaviour of staff and entire sponge team has to take the responsibility.... and the cake was not quality as we expected. Entire sponge team learn your place.... We never let anyone to come and buy at your outlet.

Pretty average cakes! Sponge used to a go to place for good cakes back in the day. Recently got 2 cakes and some sweet bites from them and utterly disappointed of the quality. It was on to the pricy side and so expected the cakes to better. Nothing was tastier and icing on the cake felt like what you get in road side bakeries. Will stick to Fab in future.

It's a lovely area with a lot of space. Delicious pastries and short eats are available to eat in or take away. It appears to be a little pricey, but it is well worth it. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating while making a decision. Takeaway packing options are plentiful.

The Vegetable Fried Rice Sponge is deeee-licious, it's so good!! I loved the mushrooms and potatoes in particular! (Yes, I'm craving this right now) The only problem I had was the packaging when we got it delivered, it was plastic. Should consider opting for an environmentally friendly packaging.
