Sri Lanka Medical Council

๐Ÿ˜  Extremely poor services, I would give zero stars if I could. They are supposed to open at 9am but the clerks never seem to come to work on time. The security makes you wait outside the gate for hours and when you finally get the chance to go inside, they are extremely rude to you, especially if you... People often mention medical, service, government, time, phone, staff, office, SLMC, Lanka, council,

Extremely poor services, I would give zero stars if I could. They are supposed to open at 9am but the clerks never seem to come to work on time. The security makes you wait outside the gate for hours and when you finally get the chance to go inside, they are extremely rude to you, especially if you are a foreign medical graduate. It's very disappointing how they treat medical students/doctors like animals in this place. I almost don't want to work in Sri Lanka as a doctor because I don't want to deal with this unprofessional institution ever again in my life

Tried to get information about renewal of medical registration. Wanted to know whether we can send it by registered mails saving precious time from other end of the country. Phone rings no one answers. Typical developing world. Never think I may have to drive a car , take full day or 2 holidays. Total loss for the country, think about 20000 or 30000 Drs doing the same. We are nowhere near developed world.

This is one of the worst places I had to deal with. The receptionists are very arrogant and they do not pick up the phone or read emails l. They also miss documents including payment slips. The registration renewal process is very laid back( I have never used bank drafts in my life except for this)I had to pay my registration fees multiple times ( as they keep on loosing my payment slips) and yet they have not finalised my registration renewal. The staff need a good training regarding communication and customer service. Message for receptionists- you don't need to be arrogant just because you are working in the medical board. All health professionals are there to provide a service to people and you need to do a better job not to waste their time. And treat all healthcare workers equally.

The worst service I have ever experienced . Front office ladies behave like that they are the owners of the SLMC. When people asking details about their regarding matters , they jump on to the face and behave like devil and talking in very bad unprofessional manner. Worst government service providers.

I have been constanly ringing to their hotline for nearly half a day from overseas. No one responds. Once a lady picked up the phone and put down the phone after few seconds of silence. I hope she could not understand what I said. Pls employee someone who is keen about english as well. And pls ask them to pick tye phone and direct it to someone atleast who can address the issues.

Proffesional hatred at its best. If you're an IMG don't register here. Just stay where you are or look for other alternatives. If you want to do erpm you will be in world of pain. The passing rate is ridiculously low and the most important thing is that these people will postpone exams. Its absolutely waste of time and money.

Went to verify a medical certificate to be submitted for foreign ministry for attestation. Went on Tuesday at 10am. Got it done in two minutes! The staff starting from the security person to the front office lady very very helpful. Make sure to pay the Rs. 500 to a Boc branch and take the slip with you. The account number is mentioned in other reviews.

The receptionist is exceptional, going beyond her duty to help the clients. Only shortcoming may be the web page could give a detailed explanation on how to get things done and the processes involved. Or a YouTube channel explaining each process. If possible arrange some one to answer the phone. The service is very quick organized and up-to-date. Thank you. Especially the receptionist.

It is the place were all the medical officers and other health staff registered in order to maintain the health stands. So it is like heart to the health system. But the staff is not organized. So they are wasting their time as well as others. Place is not attractive or eye catching at all.

Worst service ever. No one there to answer the telephone. Even I called the health ministry and told them that itโ€™s hard to contact medical council they did the same by transferring the call to medical council but no one ever answered the phone. Really disappointing how the government services are operating in srilanka.

Kept asking me to get my COVID 19 vaccination card stamped by a doctor when it was the MOH who vaccinated us. She would not listen, 4 MOHโ€™s including the office staff and every Dr I spoke to stated they can not stamp a document they did not have anything to do with,itโ€™s illegal, which any thing human being will understand. But the foreign ministry demands the stamp from Medical council and the medical council demands a stamp of a Dr when it is with the stamp of MOH. Even though they work for government institutes they are not even remotely aware of the procedure of the country! Asks me to get a stamp by hook or by crook! Incompetent to the limit!

The Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) is a statutory body established in 1998, replacing the former Ceylon Medical Council. It is tasked with the regulation of the medical profession, upholding medical ethnical practices, standards of education and the safety of medical patients in Sri Lanka.

I submitted my ID renewal application more than 7 months now. They still not even prepared it. When I inquired it what they only said is the subject cleark is absent. I had enough troubles during the curfew period too. Only person available for inquiry is the receptionist, who doesn't have a clue. This is absurd and frustrating as usual. Only what they interest is payments.

Verification process took about 15-20mins but you have to stand outside the building in the sun while you wait. No seating area is available. Make sure you pay 500LKR per certificate to a BOC branch, no details of this was available online but I had got the details from previous reviews

Job done in 10 minutes I know there โ€˜s so ma y bad reviews . But seems things are getting better around here . You have the option of paying the fee online & bringing in a confirmation , provided you have no issues with your medicals. Receptionists seems to be helpful as well .
