I live close to Falafel King but discovered this place only recently. The mains in the menu is a choice of stuffed pitta-bread pockets. There are 3 choices. 1. Falafel Stuffing (deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both.) along with salad filling, tahini and pickles. 2. Sabich Stuffing - Deep fried eggplant, boiled egg, salad filling, tahini and pickles. 3. Shakshuka Stuffing - Soft-boiled eggs in a thick tomato sauce. I like Shakshuka the best followed by the Sabich. The mains are priced at Rs. 390. Except for egg in few dishes no other non-vegetarian items are sold here. Many of their dishes are vegan-friendly. The 2 staff members who work there are very courteous and service-oriented.

This is probably one of the best taste and value for money deals you can find these days. The falafel is so filling and it’s also spicy and it’s got fresh veggies. Definitely recommend. You can get it on pickme for 625(without the delivery fee) which is a steal

Saw this place last night while visiting Liberty Plaza. Looked nice from the out side, so I was craving to taste it 😁.. Went in and started inquiring about the menu and the ingredients they use from a lady (cashier and the restaurant server) who was serving another order, she explained me in a very detailed manner. Soon after that I placed the order for a Sabich. The chef/restaurant manager was kind enough to give me a tour on how my Sabich was prepared, and was served to me hot hot πŸ”₯.. Took the 1st bite and the taste reminded me of the origin of the food, the pita bread, the pickle πŸ₯’, the fresh veggies, hot and sweet sauce, boiled eggs, and the chef added some crunchy French fries as a compliment πŸ˜‰, which rounded up the taste to a level where I could give a 5 star 🌟 review. I requested the chef that I would like to taste a Falafel if any available, but he insisted and made them fresh for me to taste. They were wonderful, the chickpeas, herbs, and the spices were on the right notch. The interior atmosphere was small but pleasant, with the wooden seating and the wooden table tops to give it a warm and a glam look. I would recommend this place, if your heart and tummy is asking for Middle Eastern Cuisine.. Cheers πŸ₯‚

A small, cosy place across liberty. Their menu is quite simple. The falafel and Sabich were sooo filling and they were only LKR 390 each. The drinks were thick and refreshing. I was so full afterwards. The sabich had boiled egg and fried Brinjal. It was a nice taste. I’d go there again. The staff were friendly. The chef had learned how to make falafel when he was in Dubai. I’m glad I stumbled upon the place. 4stars cos I wish the menu had more items. Better carry cash with you.

First time trying Falafel in fresh Pita bread. The portion's huge and packed with veggies and French fries. The original version isn't spicy but luckily they have a spicy sauce which just makes everything unique.

Was looking to try falafel from a long time and came across this newly opened falafel place and at first glance it was inviting and as you step in the employees would explain what falafels are and how their menu works and they're super friendly. They recommended me the regular falafel because it was actually my first time having one beside all the videos and reviews I've watched and it comes to you in a blanket of pita bread, soft and fluffy, stuffed with chips, veges, pickles and ofc the decadent and delicious falafel balls made out of chickpeas and herbs. Fell in love with at my first bite and it was DELICIOUS. Affordable prices, good food and friendly customer service at the heart of Colombo, what more could you ask for!?

Falafel King has relocated further down duplication road, near Fab, but on the other side of the road. The staff mentioned that they were waiting for google to update the location on Maps. I ordered a Shakshuka and thoroughly enjoyed it as they served it piping hot. With two eggs, it was generously filled with the spiced tomato gravy in the pita bread. I also ordered a Sabich to go and it was really yummy and generously filled as well. I definitely look forward to coming back often and trying out the rest of the menu. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was yummy and nourishing, very feel-good. Also their prices are definitely wallet friendly in this economy.

It’s a little place but the food is authentic and really tasty. There are many styles of falafel in the Middle East and I wasn’t sure about the chips in the mix, but it was really delicious and the whole thing was amazing value for money. Their aubergine salad and the Arabic salad were lip-smacking good. I’ll be ordering delivery on pick-me left, right and centre! 2024 update: since that review, they have changed premises and seems like they left all their expertise behind in the move. I ordered their falafel twice (hoping it was a glitch) and it came like nothing it was before. It was stone cold, the chips were stale, I couldn’t taste or see the tahini sauce, the salad was minimum and the falafel had very little taste.the most shocking part was the portion of the salads I’d ordered with my falafel. I got a tablespoon worth of salad which although tasty was a highway robbery at 700+ rps. The same with the Moroccan salad which by the way I hadn’t ordered, but a matbucha which never arrived. What a pity, it used to be brilliant.

A cute little place where you can have very fresh and great falafel with chips, salad in pitta bread. The lady who prepares it is very kind and welcoming. The place is very clean.

The food was amazing. Reminded me of the falafel sandwich we used to get in Riyadh a long time ago. Took some time to prepare but it was worth it. The sandwich was stuffed to the brim and was quite filling. Would recommend 10/10

Pita with falafel top. Good hummus Very clean, tasty. It’s also fast enough for Lanka))

Very good little falafel stop. Nice salad sides (the eggplant salad was well balanced and simple), and the falafel pita is solid and good value. The pita could’ve used a little more contrast in its flavours though, everything blended together a little too much. Ask for hot sauce if you want to kick it up.

We absolutely loved the falafel and salads that we had today at the Falafel king! This was one of the best falafels we've had, very similar to the original Israeli taste. The staff was as well very friendly and price is fair.

Very delicious pita falafel. A bit on the spicy side, but hey it's Sri Lanka πŸ˜… also super friendly waitress.

They don’t have a big menu, but what they make is delicious. I had a Falafel (filled pita bread) and a coleslaw. The pita was stuffed full and the French fries were a very nice touch. The coleslaw was fresh and tasty. Can definitely recommend this place for an afternoon or late night snack.

I've eaten falafels all over the world and from many different ethic communities with their varying recipes....the falafels here have some noticeable amount of chili in, which is less normal, but no surprise this being Sri Lanka. I found the texture of the falafels very nice, the taste also good but would have preferred less chili and more herbs or at least more herbs and greater variety of herbs. The bread used has a wonderful light airy buoyancy to it. I felt the love that had gone into choosing the bread. Option for whole meal bread would be good, but I understand it may not be in great demand and therefore not financially viable. I did find myself wishing the falafel meal had green olives in...it didn't feel perfectly balanced taste wise....not quite sophisticated enough and with the wide spectrum of taste explosion I've experienced in some restaurants in other countries. That said, I did very much enjoy the meal, to the extent that I ordered a second falafel meal. It's a nice clean very friendly, very small restaurant. I'd definitely eat here again when in Colombo. I think I ate here March 2021.
