We booked through secret escapes and HOT were the in country tour guide provider. The service that they provided was superb in every was. They provided a full detailed tour pack and the agenda was very well planned with a really excellent mix of sights and excursions. Our one to one tour guide Pream was outstanding and made our holiday a truly wonderful experience. His knowledge is 2nd to non, his driving was 1st class and his main focus was to ensure that we did everything WE wanted to do. We wanted to experience local food and culture and he took us to some really local traditional places to eat which were fantastic, and should definitely not be avoided. If you are thinking of visiting Sri Lanka please do not be put off by the negative press around at the moment (April 2022) we only experienced some of the usual drinks were in short supply at some hotels but the Lion Beer was always plentiful and made up for this.

H.O.T. provided a really friendly and efficient service o our recent visit. We were greeted at the airport and escorted to people carrier to transport us to our hotel. Met the following day with a very personable rep, to discuss possible tours/trips. Used them for two day trips, including a safari drive at a wild life park (safari vehicle and driver hired by company for this part of the trip). On both trips a friendly and knowledgeable guide, plus efficient drivers were allocated to take care of us for the day. Journey back to airport planned to provide adequate check in time. All very efficient and we would definitely use this company again and indeed recommend it to others.

From being picked up at the airport, staying in the hotels and visiting all the sights, all expectations were exceeded. Don was also able to arrange spontaneous trips away from the usual hotspots. Very nice tour in Sri Lanka with a beach stay booked through Secret Escape, carried out by H.O.T, with a perfect guide Susa. Highly recommended! Susa introduced us to the local culture, history and nature. Beautiful flora and fauna paired with culture and religion. Susa was there exclusively for us. Always friendly and punctual. 2 out of 5 hotels were changed to non-equivalent hotels 1 week before the start of the trip. The included excursions to the silk factory, wood carving, Ayuverda garden, gemstone factory or tea plantation always ended in a sales event. Always had something of a “butter ride”. The food in the hotels was usually very good. H.O.T. organized the transfer to the airport unprofessionally. At first there was no indication of when the pickup would take place (our guide Susa had to arrange that) and then no driver came at the agreed time. The ticket for the completely overcrowded train was also not reserved in advance. A booked and paid trip to the botanical garden should be paid for again... We cannot recommend H.O.T unconditionally.

We booked our honeymoon with House of Travels via Secret Escapes and couldn't have been more pleased with the service. Our tour guide Sarath and Driver Priyan were absolutely wonderful. I had hurt my knee so had crutches with me on the trip and from the moment they picked us up at the airport, they couldn't do enough to help me. Sarath spoke a good level of English so we really didn't have any misunderstandngs at all and Priyan spoke a little English. Our Trip was rather challenging with my knee and the fact my husband got food poisoning and i developed a cough. Sarath and Priyan were excellent and stopped whenever we asked if we needed a pharmacy. They showed us amazing sites and we saw some truly wonderful things. Sri Lankan people are lovely! Someone at one of the Buddhist temples we saw, even tied a bit of string round my wrist and chanted a blessing ( I didn't know what he wanted my wrist for until Sarath said) I had my crutch with me at the time so it was a lovely gesture.. i wish I had asked what the blessing was now! We flew into Columbo and travelled around the Cultural circle of Sri Lanka, seeing temples, going on safari's- the Jeep Safari where we saw all kinds of animals- even a Leopard was my highlight! It was an 8 day tour with 3 nights at the end in a beach hotel. We would definitely recommend this trip. It gave us the travel bug for sure! Auch als Team haben die Drei bestens funktioniert und für einen reibungslosen Ablauf der Reise gesorgt. Die Auswahl der Programmpunkte dieser Reise, war interessant und informativ gestaltet. Die einzelnen Manufakturen (Ayurveda Kräuter, Edelstein/Schmuck, Tee, Holz) waren mehr oder weniger "sehr" motiviert zu verkaufen. We did the two week plan. We visited Sigiriya, Kandy and many other beatutiful places with amazing landascapes. The plan is organized, you’ll get to see most of the island. The hotels selected are great. Our guide Prabath took us everywhere. It is such an advantage having a private guide to move around the island. He is a nice man. He explained and gave many details about the monuments we visited. Nonetheless, his interest about business and money was a definitely annoying. He wanted to know all the time how much money we were exchanging each time, teaching us how much money we should give for proper services etc. Too much interest on money matters that, after all is not his business. The company is a well recognized tour agency around the island. They have different 24/7 telephones to call in case of an emergency. Last day was chaos. Previous day before leaving we asked our tour guide, Prabath, the time they were picking us from the beach hotel to go to the airport. No respone.
