Stayed here twice. 2011 and 2019. Haven't found any basic basic difference. But this is true it is getting age. Opened a shoe/clothing shop by the entrance. Reception hall little messier than before but the hospitality is same. Happy and smiling people will let you check the rooms before you board. That happened with me twice. This building has a feeling, old rustict wooden floor, very well ventilated room with a huge belcony dint pretty well even during the month of march. This a budget place. Clean bed and toilet you can expect easily but no other amenities. It's ok! You will get way more than what you pay. Perople who has no expectations but wanted to feel an historic building - it's a 5 star facility. Stayed in the same room after 8 yeas of my first trip. No complain. Wish this building will survive another 10 years.

Dorms are dirty and need urgent renovation and cleaning. However those are reasonable for the price. A very old traditional building in the center of Colombo.

Good old man kept our bags safe for like 5-7 hours. Cost me 1000 rupees for two bags. Worth every rupee. They were soo heavy. He gave us a good place for food!

A great place to bring the family and your friends for recreational activities. Good for accommodation.

My daughter's British Art festival happened here in their auditorium . Air conditioned . Good for a moderate crowd.

Four storied building located at a walking distance from Colombo Fort. Reasonable room fee. Easy booking. Friendly staff .Old building with common wash rooms. poor flour cleaning and sanitary facilities.

A Peaceful environment is found in noisy city of Colombo Fort.

It is a fine place to stay.The building is very traditional.The room is ok.Can stay. But nothing special to say a lot. It is opened 24 hours.They spoke in sinhala only. They have a nearby srilankan traditional food court.The food was tasty.They accept Cards.

Disappointing stay! Poorly maintained... Room was dusty with dim lighting. Zero for customer service. The shared bathrooms and toilets are horrendous. The only upside was the decent study area.

Colombo YMCA is established in 1882. The oldest place which situated it closer to the Fort and Bristal Building. There are no wheelchair accessible entrance or parking area. They also provide accomodation facilities at a fair rates.

Not Bad nice & law price

This is a remarkable community institution of great historical importance, which must be preserved at all costs. I can easily imagine the centre established in 1882, must've had a glorious past but possibly due to a lack of funding its value substantially diminished and condition deteriorated over the decades, leaving the building in a state of severe dilapidation today. Very very sad and nostalgic. (Last visited in July 2009)
