This is the best place to eat lunch in Colonia! The restaurant has a really cute and relaxed atmosphere. Servers were friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered was delicious and tasted super fresh. Don't skip it!

8 USD for a lemonada and a pepsi. We sat in the rear courtyard. No snack food. Chairs are really uncomfortable. Leave it.

Loistavaa ruokaa ja erinomainen palvelu. Söimme alkupalana chorizoa ja pääruuaksi päivän kala, molemmat todella maukkaita ja annosten koko sopiva, lisäksi leipä tuoretta. Hinta laatu suhde erinomainen, on helppo suositella tätä paikkaa kaikille, niin päivisin kuin iltaisinkin.

The place was empty when we arrived for a long lunch and as the afternoon progressed it became increasingly strange that we remained the only diners. There was no shortage of people in Colonia that day; all I can say is they missed out. This is a really nice spot. The food is elegant and the wine particularly good. The sun casts a dappled effect across the patio and the La Tapera is home to a very pretty and friendly cat too. One downside is it's not vegetarian friendly, but this didn't detract from our visit, not being vegetarians.

Very relaxed and chilled atmosphere, with lovely instrumental music. Fresh and tasty artisanal beer (Galia, made in Uruguay) served in a shaded terrace. Definitely a place to chill after a long walk in the city (and perhaps a bath in the Rio Plata)
