We told them how boring we found the food to be in Uruguay in general, and they instantly booked us for lunch the following day at Don Florida! Eight of us enjoyed an absolutely stellar lunch, thanks to the owner/chef, Carlos, who apparently only opens the place when he feels like it. What an amazing culinary artist this Frenchman is! No matter what it takes, you MUST find out about La Florida while you are in Colonia.

La Florida is a place where you know you are going to spend a good time while taking a sit around one of the four tables Carlors offers. Of course, it turns out to be true. Eating there is an experience with a friendly-owner who knows how to properly make a guest feel the soul and the warmth of a place -and not only by the quality of the food being served. We arrived at 12 and left at 4.30pm, ending up cancelling plans we had at 3pm to stay longer.
