I drove almost two hours to bring my teenager here. Parking was two bucks (but if you're nice to everyone, including the officers at the door, they'll stamp your ticket for free) we were asked to wear a mask, which was expected, we went through a metal detector and my purse was thoroughly searched, which I didn't expect. However, once we got into the ER, it was a pretty quick process. Everyone we came into contact with was super friendly and knowledgeable. Once we got him into a room, the process slowed a little, but the nurses and doctors were amazing and knew what they were doing. Unfortunately, they weren't able to nail down his exact issue, by no fault of theirs, BUT they did give him some medications to see if they helped while we wait to see a specialist in a week. The hospital called two days later to check up on him as well. I will always recommend this hospital. The staff know what they're doing, and they're efficient at their jobs. Everything you could possibly need is here, including pharmacies right down the hallway. For something serious, I will always bring my children here.

It's really tough for mom who had c-section recently and still don't know how long we need to wait in waiting room before getting it. They don't have formula that she drink at home too. No one come to see her yet. They keep saying no room if I go out and ask them. I don't know why they don't think throwing everything newborn drink is not serious. I don't recommend here. I know they don't care about the reviews, but I am writing it for other parents.

I took my daughter in for a huge blister on her food that looked infected and was very quickly getting worse. We had already spent hours at another hospital to be told it'd be best to go here. We sat in the waiting room from 10 pm until 5 am before even being taken back except for them to get 1 round of her vitals. She literally sat there bawling for hours and when I'd ask, they'd just say "It shouldnt be that long now.." IMO they acted like they didnt really care about the patients themselves...they're just going through the motions. Also, on shift change, a nurse came out saying they had over 50 people on the list but there were only 20 or less actually there. It was a terrible experience...and I wouldn't recommend.

Itā€™s been almost 4 hours and still waiting to get back to see a doctor. My son has had severe abdominal pain, throwing up and drive heaving in the waiting area. He canā€™t have anything to drink because they want him NPO but he is thirsty. All this building on all these new buildings maybe they should expand their ER to work on this ridiculous wait times.

Sat for 3 hours with a baby who hadn't had a wet diaper for 5 hours... when I asked at what point does this become a bigger deal. The lady shrugged. Said they had a lot of sick kids. I'm not mad that I wasn't seen timely. In an ER! I'm mad that there was no assurance. No bed side manner. No additional follow up. I took my baby & left. Be empowered to go somewhere else.

I would rate this ER zero stars if I could. I have had incredible care within the hospital, but there is just no excuse for their ER wait times. I have been in the waiting room for more than five hours with my teen who has classic signs of appendicitis. They were told in triage not to eat or use the restroom, over four hours ago. I understand that ERs have to prioritize unstable patients and that there are only so many rooms, and I expected a wait time and not to be the first one seen- but 5 hours (in pain, potentially needing emergency surgery) with no indication of when we might end up in a room (where we will wait even longer for testing) is unjustifiable. This is NOT a one-time issue and they absolutely have the budget to figure out a solution.

If I could rate this place lower I would!! My preemie daughter is having apnea spells which means she stops breathingā€¦. We have been waiting for 8+hours just to get her seen. She had an episode where her face turned pale and her lips turned blue and they still didnā€™t take her back. I am truly in shock..

I havenā€™t witnessed this first hand until the past two days. What an absolute nightmare this place is. Severely understaffed. Went in because my daughter had temps of over 101 and have oxygen levels around 93-94. Waited 5 hours last night only to leave early and weā€™re going on 4 hours already today and have only been called back for vitals. Asked for another vitals check to address the issues I stated aboveā€¦still waiting for a second vitals check almost 40 minutes later. If you have an emergency, donā€™t come here because it wonā€™t be addressed quickly unless you arrive on an ambulance (rightfully so). Pay the staff what they are worth so you can adequately staff the ER. Just hoping someone that has the power to make high level decisions reads this. Only giving 1 start because I have to in order to post.

waiting still, itā€™s been 4 hours already. my daughter has horrible abdominal pain and they told her she couldnā€™t eat or drink anything.. itā€™s not fair to the children suffering in here. For this to be an ā€œ emergency ā€œ room, this is horrible. If your child is in severe pain and needs care asap I would NOT come here. Iā€™m sorry to those who are experiencing the same thing.

This "emergency" room will make you sit in deplorable conditions absolutely swimming with disease for hours on end. If you can go to any other hospital I highly suggest you do it even if this is the closest one. I guess maybe it'd be more comfortable to die here than on the street? But maybe just put a folding chair in your nearest gutter while you await the void's sweet embrace.

absolutely deplorable conditions. people packed into the waiting room like sardines with no masks. if you come here you'll wait all day long and leave sicker than when you arrived.

Less than 2 weeks ago: We arrived to the ER at 1PM, didn't get a room until 7PM and didn't get admitted until Midnight. Stayed for 2 days on the 9th floor (which staff was great other than the wait times) Fast forward to now: Same symptoms as before with additional symptoms. Called the number listed to see if I can talk to an on call doctor about new symptoms before I make the hour drive to have my son seen and some dumba*s directory lady answers and says "well, your son has been dismissed from our care so you can't talk to a doctor, you'll have to call his family doctor". Ahhh F it, guess I'll just bring him in to be miserable for another 13hrs before we make another verdict. Sadly enough, the worst hospital around (LMH) has better service when it comes to speaking to an on call pediatric doctor than "the best children's hospital around". If it boils down to it, I'll be bringing him back in to be seen but I'm going to be a total Karen about it... Obviously somebody there missed something or these issues wouldn't still be present and worsening. Speaking with a doctor to make a decision like this is crucial, especially given the drive time and ER wait times. 1 star in that area for me. Staff is a good 4 stars in the ER department. 9th floor staff... I'd give them a million stars if I could. Call center lady gets negative 500 stars because she's an a*shole. šŸ‘šŸ»

2 stars ONLY because most of the staff I encountered were nice. To the hospitalā€™s board, do something better to retain or gain your staff. I know an ER visit is long, however when youā€™re sitting in the waiting room for 2 hours and havenā€™t even been triaged yet, while others who arrived well after you have already been triaged by a nurse and back out to wait for an actual room, thatā€™s an issue. Especially when itā€™s for a baby who wonā€™t keep anything down. I took my son and left. Iā€™ll be calling his doctors office when they open in 6 hours now.

My son had a seizure and Iā€™ve been waiting 5+ hours to be seen. I would choose a different hospital if I were you.

Do not take your child there. 4 hours and counting of wait for a large gash near the eye that kept bleeding. They are way understaffed, and are so nonchalant about the crying kids with cuts and bruises.

We waited 7 and a half hours until my son was crying because he was so tired and frustrated. I went up to the desk to tell them that if we couldn't be seen soon then we were leaving. The lady just pointed to the front and said "Go up there and she will take you off the list". Rude and completely absurd. Definitely don't go to this place unless you ABSOLUTELY have to.

Took my baby there at 3AM, we stay there untill 7am and still no one call our name, when i askhow long it will take they said another 4 to 5 hours. If you got an emergency just take your baby to a different emergency room, because these guys don't care about your babies. Will never ever go back to this ER

The absolute worst children hospital. They are in no kind of hurry to assist or help your child. My daughter has had a bad head injury and here we are still waiting in the waiting room 3 hours later... the worst .. to the employees that work here... start thinking about the children instead of sitting around on your social media or sitting around just gossiping... absolute the worst.

Very friendly staff, however communication is lacking tremendously. We got there around 9:15p & we werenā€™t triaged until 1:30a (which I know is typical). My son had a laceration that needed stitches and we were told to go back out into the waiting room for a suture tech. What they failed to mention was that a suture tech wouldnā€™t be working until 7:00a. I understand being short staffed, everyone isā€¦but I would have left, gone home and went to urgent care at 7:00a instead of sitting with my miserable 1 year old in the waiting room for 9 hours. Not to mention I asked multiple times how long it would be approx. before he was seen & not a single time did they say they didnā€™t have a staff member to do sutures. We were there for over 12 hours before we go to leave.

Didnā€™t get past the waiting room. Waited over 5 hours then left. Told registration we weā€™re leaving and they said, ā€œsounds good!ā€ Not good for my son.

Horrible emergency room, horrible staff. Was at urgent care with my child prior for something else and he fell and bumped his head. Rushed him over to Nationwide and they brushed it off like he was sick. Was told to sit and wait. While waiting noticed his eyes were darting back and forth and then he fell again.. while in the waiting area; they didnā€™t even come and ask if he was okay, I had to go to them. Still took forever for a nurse to come and look at him. All the while I saw several nurses either talking to each other or on their phonesā€¦ if you want to play on your phone, working in a hospital is not the job for youā€¦ wish I could give 0 stars. This place shouldnā€™t be called a hospital. Such a shame.

My 15 month old fell and split his forehead open while playing in the early morning. Nationwide Childrenā€™s did an excellent job at making him comfortable and doing a precise stitching job which will reduce his potential scarring. They comforted him with diluted juice and graham crackers afterwards. The wait was about 2 hours to be seen, which was less than we expected for emergency care. The staff was really friendly and warm. I appreciate having such a qualified facility nearby!
