I went to the Rose Museum last Sunday, but it was not reported on Google that the museum was closed for holidays. I am curious to know the contents of this museum and you will share it

Very well arranged in the old station, this museum traces the history of the rose in Grisy Suisnes and the surrounding towns as well as its growth in France, then the decline of this culture. To have.

In the past, there were vines, carried away by the philoxera, to make a living the winegrowers of the time, became gardeners, and developed the cultivation of roses, since the railway which took the flowers to Paris, it is called “road of roses.” There is no longer a railway, but the famous promenade remains.!!!

I'm only giving one star because unfortunately the first contact I had with the lady volunteer went badly and this therefore impacted the rest of the visit: we were a group of cyclists, she asked who wanted a coffee, personally not liking it and still wanting to hydrate and warm up, I dared to ask politely if there was by chance also hot chocolate; It was very bad for me! This arrogance cost me a moral lesson like I have never had in the 40 years I have regularly asked for tea or hot chocolate instead of coffee 😅 This lady may have thought that I was making fun of her by daring to make this very inappropriate request, but know that I, Madam, wondered if you were serious in recriminating me in this way for that and in being therefore very unfriendly. Whereas it would have been enough to say that no, you did not make hot chocolate (kindly, as I was) and perhaps offer instead for those who did not drink coffee, a tea or Would it be a glass of water (I was thirsty but so I didn't dare ask for anything afterwards)! It doesn't cost more, and believe me, it changes everything! Because of this welcome, the visit to the museum was ruined and I unfortunately was not able to enjoy it or appreciate it as I could have done if someone had been kind to me... too bad.

Having preserved and rehabilitated the station from which rose production left for Paris is already moving, but so much passion to bring the story of the first French rose growers to life again is magnificent... Thank you

Very interesting associative museum on the history of rose cultivation. The volunteer team is very welcoming and friendly. Many activities are organized throughout the year (for example Fleur en fête in June)
