The person that did my fries, your attention to detail sucks. You had to see the poor quality. We make fries at home and they are better than this. Dry, terrible coleslaw. Two bites and it’s disgusting. Lemon sat so long that it is stained. The salad is not fresh and almost translucent. This is not fresh. The halibut batter is oily and you can see it in the picture but it doesn’t show up well. This is at 5:30pm. So it’s not off hours. I was hungry and didn’t eat it all. If you want to be disappointed - go here. Overpriced. It’s a slow fast food restaurant. Better to go to Burgerville.

First time visit! We enjoy a good cup of clam chowder as much as the next person, but this recommendation from a recent family member, was spot on. The clam chowder is super flavorful, creamy and had large pieces of clam in it. Absolutely amazing soup. We also ordered the Halibut & Chips and the Mex tacos. Both were fabulous! Great service and atmosphere (family style). Thanks.

Nice spot. I did not like the idea of having to order before sitting down as I wanted a drink first. They did allow me to sit and have a long Island before I ordered. We had shrimp cocktail, chowder, garlic bread, basket of halibut and basket of chicken strips. My 19 year old kid isn't picky and starving and hated the chicken strips. He said they were sogging and nasty. My girl said bread was burnt and gross. We loved the shrimp, halibut and chowder. Bartender, waiter and bus boy did a great job. We had a little mix up with Bill but got it straightened out. I would stop by again if we ever made through again.

DON'T GO! We arrived at 8:14pm Wed 7/21/21 They close at 9pm. As soon as we walked in a younger man with longer dirty blonde hair said, "don't bother, we're closed" i asked about them closing at 9pm on the internet, he said "everyone has worked 17 hours and we're done" That's a pretty awful way to treat anyone. Thankfully next-door is one of the best Mexican restaurants we've ever been to.

Honestly their slogan is true, best seafood on the coast. It is a Must visit. Every single aspect was amazing, we enjoyed all of it. You’ve got to try this place. Photo doesn’t do it justice but it’s delicious.

Food was extraordinarily fresh and the decor made for a beautiful and intriguing atmosphere. I had baja tacos. They were delivered directly, still hot with fresh tortilla chips, salsa, black beans. The salad was clean and crisp. Loved both! The margarita was well balanced between sweet, sour, and salty. After the initial order, however, no one asked us if we would like anything else or how we were enjoying the food. Just dropped off the check as if they couldn't wait for us to leave. It was a bit busy but not packed. I wasn't expecting a chat, but a second drink might have been nice. I saw the wait person thank another family profusely for their tip. That kind of stung. I would come back, but other restaurants would probably be higher on the priority list.

Prompt service, pretty good food but the price points are kind of high for the value of food ordered. Crab cake burger was fine. Black beans were very bland. Cole slaw and clam chowder was pretty good. I would come back , but given there are numerous seafood joints around I would be inclined to try another place.

This place has a fun atmosphere and great food! The fish and chips melt in your mouth and their spicy cod tacos were full of flavor. The water was infused with lemon, lime, and orange which really hit the spot.

What an amazing find on the main drag of Coos Bay! Shares space with an amazing surf/etc shop and you can walk right through the 2 businesses from southbound to northbound 101. Features an amazingly eclectic menu, fresh ingredients are used in all of the food items. Like others, I love the clam chowder and order it every time. I highly recommend this establishment, great food, great service, great locations, reasonable prices

The food is so delicious 😋 Employees are friendly. Kid friendly place with a little play area in the back. If you use the restroom, make sure the hot water isn't too hot. By what I assume is a random incident, my 6 year old burned hard hand when she went to wash. Staff brought us burn gel and ice, which I appreciated. And to help distract her from the pain they offered her Dippin Dots (which were a great little distraction).

We were just looking for a place to eat once we got to Coos Bay and saw their sign and knew we had to eat there. Great place and great service. We ordered the house squeezed margaritas which came with fresh squeezed fruit juices and shared the seafood plater, which came with fried battered cod, Alaskan halibut, grilled oysters, calamari strips, popcorn shrimp, clam strip, a Dungeness crab cake and fries. It also came with a trio of dipping sauces. All was cooked perfectly and very tasty.

The good: server was kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The bad: We ordered 2 entrees. The Spicy halibut taco portion was good, but they left a bitter aftertaste. The seafood sampler (costing $42) was oily. It tasted like old oil and the batter was not completely cooked through. We scraped the batter off of the fish. The clams in the clam chowder were far in between. The chowder base tasted “floury.” The ugly: When we expressed our disappointment to the owner, he said he would let the kitchen know. He did not apologize and took nothing off the bill. I hate leaving a bad review for anybody, but the lack of remorse and bill adjustment were disappointing. I wish I could add a picture. This is the first review I’ve ever done, but I felt like it needed to be said.

Food was delicious. Was a warm day in coos Bay and they allowed us to bring our dogs in which was awesome! The food was delicious. Loved the crab cakes, halibut tacos and the bacon burger. The fries were fresh and perfectly crispy. The bacon on the burger was super thick cut and the bun was fresh.

Mixed feelings about the set up when entering the restaurant. For me, it made it very impersonal. You must stand in line, order food and drinks before you are seated. Then the server (one for all customers) delivers your ordered items. When we go out to eat, we like having our own server. They make the dinning experience more comforting, and desirable in my opinion. Plus, I always budget for a nice tip 😊. Maybe short staffed or a new way of service?!? Idk. It did seem to flow nicely. The employees were great, and professional, no complaints. Try the fish tacos, any of them, they are awesome!

Disappointing this time. Visited the Sharkbites about 5 years ago and it was delicious! So when we were going thru Coos Bay again we knew we wanted to stop in for a quick bite. The price ($19 and change) was very high for what they called half a dozen "jumbo shrimp", more like large frozen shrimp that you find at the grocery store. You know, not that big and shrink when cooked. It was overcooked, but the fresh garlic was yummy. The salad was delicious and so was the ranch dressing. My husband's chicken (not pictured) was listed as beer batter chicken but it was in the shape of a patty, very thin and the batter wasn't very thick. The decor is adorable and we didn't partake but the cocktails looked good. The set up was a little odd, they had us order from the "market" and then they brought us the food in the dining room and checked on us periodically, filled our drinks, etc. But I would have rather just ordered at the table like a traditional restaurant, especially with their prices. We probably won't be back.

Fantastic experience all around. The spicy Blackened Halibut Tacos were perfect from texture to flavor (the photo does not do them justice), and my House Made Margarita was just as delicious. The two guys running the place truly knew how to hustle without missing a beat, even when the place was packed, and it was just them two. I plan to visit every time I'm in town! (I'm terrible at leaving reviews, but this one was worth it)

To begin with, we walked in from the Eastside thru the surf shop. Cute little store for a multitude of water wear and clothing. I didn't realize we were coming in the back entrance. The ordering for food was done in a way I have never done. You look at a menu on a table then go up to the counter and place your order. After that, you are able to pick your table in another room. Different! I'm not sure how I felt about that. It seemed odd. We waited for our drinks and food. It wasn't busy at all so I wasn't sure why it took 10 minutes to get our drinks. I figured something must have happened at first but then I started to wonder if we had been forgotten about. We were the only 2 people seated at the time. I didn't feel like we were a priority. As people came in to be seated, I started thinking I was glad we got there when we did. The food finally cames 32 minutes from ordering. That's quite a while. I was glad I had good company. The food itself is alright. Nothing to boast about. I'd say about average. The drinks were about average as well. I think I'd say the espresso dessert was the best item on the list of what we had. Not sure if we'll be back. Feeling kind of mixed about the experience.

Cute little place that offers table service but with a bit of a twist. You order at the counter, take a table and from this point on it would be just like a traditional restaurant. The staff was very nice and helped with dinner choices. The food was ok but not on par with the look of the place and the staff

Great seafood spot. You order first and choose a table, they bring your food to you. Great drinks, I recome lavander lemonade and margaritas. Big portions for a reasonable price. Loved their stickers for sale, for kids n grown-ups too. I recommend the batter fish tacos. Really good, not like the original baja taco of Ensenada baja California Mexico but... Really good.

Absolutely wonderful. Left BEYOND full! My husband got the mexi fish tacos and I got the halibut sandwich, and also some fried oysters. It was all so good. Thank you Shark Bites for such an incredible meal!

We were staying in Coos Bay for the night at a motel just a couple blocks away. This was a location recommended by the brochure in the lobby. We were seeking brewery type food with options for my gluten free mother and this place seemed like the perfect fit! The prices online were affordable, the menu seemed to offer enough we could both be satisfied. We had to park on the main hwy 101, the place did not offer private parking. The line was out the door which is normally a good thing! But after self navigating I found there were two menus/lines being offered at the front, one gluten free the other regular which is wonderful if I would have known before waiting! The menu was limited, most items were spicy / tacos anyone seeking not spicy were almost out of luck. I ordered the halibut burger, my mom ordered the nachos. We were seated at the bar due to how busy it was and no seats being available. We didn't order beverages so it was kind of awkward and cramped. The space is very small for how busy it is. The staff however were very accommodating and friendly. Once the food arrived all the ingredients were fresh and well prepared! We devoured our dishes with a good amount of leftover nachos! I recommend this place due to quality of food. If you are willing to navigate, problem solve and try new things this place is for you! If you need to be seated and given directions with a menu with lots of options + parking... maybe not!

If you want fresh seafood I would not recommend this establishment. We ordered a bowl of clam chowder which didn't have a lot of flavor and a small amount of chopped up clams, a platter with basically everything on it only we did not receive everything, we were missing the calamari. When we asked about it the gentlemen running the front first told us the long strip was the calamari then went back on what he said saying it was the cod. On top of that you could tell that the fish was previously frozen based on the rubbery texture. All you can taste is the batter and pepper. Really disappointing driving to the beach to get some seafood right by the sea and paying 50ish for frozen packaging I could drive 5 minutes to the store for.

The chowder I ordered was a bit pricey at $7 a cup, however it was pretty good. The menu has plenty of options as well as alcohol. The staff where quick to place my order and prepare it. Plenty of parking all around.

OVERPRICED!!! Staff seemed nice enough but once we were seated service was terrible. The “shrimp cocktail” was disgusting, the calamari chewy, and the fried oysters inedible. The lemonade and fries were decent enough that’s about it. Overall, very disappointing.

I have driven past Sharkbites thousands of times and yesterday we finally decided to stop in and we are so glad we did. Even though they were slammed and had a lunch rush, we were still welcomed, seated and served in a very timely manner with friendliness. Food was really good too! Hot, fresh and flavorful! I tried something that was completely out of my norm and I think it might be a new favorite. The shrimp nachos were impressive and actually really good. We will definitely be back!

Kind of a well known seafood place in Coos Bay downtown and located in a prime location just off from the boardwalk. Frankly speaking, there are better seafood restaurants in the area, but for convenience, the Shark bite is just so easy to get to. Come here if you are in the area, but if you are a seafood connoisseur, try other establishments off the beaten path.

👍 We just happened upon this place for lunch on the way home from Gold Beach. It has a small area to dine and there is a covered deck outside for dining as well.
