With the history of the Amazons, the Monuments make an impression ☺️ I thought it was a carved block of stone but much more it is made of copper or other metal. .. Despite the light rain we took beautiful photos in the rain.. it was ideal since there was practically no one there 😃 Enjoy your visit 🇧🇯

En effet, derrière le Palais de la Marina, à quelques encablures du Palais des Congrès et du Port Autonome de Cotonou, on aperçoit dans le ciel, une imposante représentation. Il s’agit de la statue de l’Amazone. Erigée sur l’«Esplanade des Amazones », le monument intitulé « Amazone » vise à instituer un symbole identitaire fort en hommage aux femmes guerrières du Danxomè, première armée purement féminine créée par la Reine Tassi Hangbé, la seule femme qui avait dirigé le royaume de 1708 à 1711.

Place de l’Amazone continues to draw lots of tourists as well as the citizens of Benin themselves to learn more about this epic history.
