HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY IN BENIN Symbol of our love and commitment to the country. Our amazons were able, through their bravery, to defend their homeland as much as men! Like our Amazons, the Beninese woman is our pride

The 229🇧🇯 regains its true letters of nobility. The year it was surpassed was the largest mural in Africa (OCBN wall), last year it was the prize for the largest mural in the world which was won (along the port wall). of Cotonou), we can also be proud to have the largest terrestrial globe in the world made with recycled materials (this was clearly visible in the garden of the Golden Tulip le Diplomate hotel) without forgetting this majestic statue of an amazon and many other strong signals that will make the Beninese proud🤩🤩🙌🏾👌🏾🇧🇯. What is the largest statue in Benin? The Amazon Monument or the Amazon is a statue erected in homage to the Amazons of Dahomey and made of a metal structure with a bronze envelope, 30 m high and weighing 150 tonnes, placed on a mound. The Amazon monument has STRONG symbolism!!

Strong in symbolism, this now emblematic square of the economic capital of Benin represents a proud Amazon of the kingdom of Danxomè, accomplished warrior and intractable defender of her sovereign. This military corps exclusively composed of women, the Amazons or Agodjié, won a number of liberation and defense battles against the French colonialist force. This glorious and highly commendable past can only serve as an example to the contemporary generation of this majestic statue. Beautiful setting, statue rich in many details, pleasant space... You don't just have to admire it in the photos, you have to take a look! Guaranteed effect...

The Place de l'Amazone, located in Benin, is an emblematic place that pays tribute to the courage and strength of women. This vast public space is a symbol of female emancipation and the importance of women in Beninese society. Decorated with statues and works of art representing powerful female figures, the Place de l'Amazone is a place to celebrate the resilience, determination and empowerment of women. In addition to being a place of gathering and demonstration, the square also provides a peaceful setting to stroll, relax and contemplate the achievements and contributions of women to the culture and history of Benin. Whether to pay tribute to the heroines of Beninese history or simply to enjoy its inspiring atmosphere, the Place de l'Amazone is a place full of meaning and symbolism that deserves to be discovered and appreciated.

Great place to visit with family and friends... With the history of the Amazons, the Monuments make an impression ☺️ I thought it was a carved block of stone but much more it is made of copper or other metal. .. Despite the light rain we took beautiful photos in the rain.. it was ideal since there was practically no one there 😃 Enjoy your visit 🇧🇯

A large empty square except for the large iron statue that recalls the glories of the Amazon warriors of the Kingdom of Daomey. Nothing special but for the Beninese it is a pleasant meeting place

A Chef d’Oeuvre, this iconic statue of the Agodjié (Amazone) that inspired the movie The Woman King. Agodjié women were an army of women warriors in Abomey, Kingdom of Dahomey. This statue and the place de l’Amazone were built as a tribute, a homage to women warriors who defended the kingdom so proudly, and by extension, to all women of the Republic of Benin, formerly known as Dahomey. Place de l’Amazone continues to draw lots of tourists as well as the citizens of Benin themselves to learn more about this epic history.

A public square whose monument (Amazon statue) attracts both national and international tourists. The statue, 30 meters high above ground, is entirely made of metal covered in bronze, with a total weight of 150 tons. Located in Benin, behind the Presidency of the Republic, this place is of exceptional beauty. The Talon government did not skimp on means. We Beninese are proud of this heritage.
