Definitely the place to be any night on the weekend. Staff are very friendly, and efficient. I was made to feel so welcome by many patrons, as though I was part of the clique. Fantastic atmosphere and great music.Motorised awning operated for customers sitting outside should it rain. Wall heaters for those chilly evenings too. Traditional pub interior, very unique decor. Loved the place and certainly will return often in the future.

Awesome pub in the trendy cathedral quarter of Belfast. It’s set in an alley with lots of decoration and the inside of the pub is equally decorated - covered in historic pub decorations, beer mats, mirrors etc. Outside seating around the front which tends to be busy. Bar staff are incredibly friendly and there’s a good selection of drinks. It can be incredibly busy and quite touristy so if you like a quieter drink this might not be the place for you. That said, if you go earlier in the day you’ll find it nice and calm.

Very, very picturesque with handy outside seating, plenty of alcoves inside, very friendly door staff ( cleaned up empty glasses too ) and very efficient bar staff. Great range of drinks.

Best Guinness in Belfast! We also enjoyed a spot of dodging the showers as the canopy came out and then retracted. The waiting staff were all excellent as were the security staff. They went above and beyond to provide first class service. Alan recommended an adjacent whisky store as I wanted to buy the wife a special gift.

One of the better bars to go to in Belfast can be a bit packed at the weekends. Unlike the 80's you could have had the entire place to yourself after 7pm, with grills on the windows, what a change in nightlife freedom to enjoy! Quiet Tuesday evening in Duke of York mid October 2022.

Lovely experience of an Irish pub. Rammed with memorabilia but spotless non the less. You can't stop looking at the walls and ceilings.

We ended up at this pub after a serendipitous encounter with a couple from Belfast the previous night at the Crown pub. And it was a delightful experience with local musicians belting Irish folk/ rock. The place was buzzing and we left after enjoying the non stop jamming session for two hours. An absolute must visit.

You'd think locals would be sick of tourists. Not here. We got a very warm welcome at the bar and among the clients. Super well kept Guinness and a great range of whiskeys. We popped in for a quick lunchtime beer and sloped out 3 hours later. There was so much to bloody look at, listen to, marvel at and such a warm and cosy atmosphere we couldn't summon the self discipline to leave. Gorgeous.

Brilliant pub in a wonderful location, you can't / shouldn't visit Belfast without visiting the Duke of York, especially so in the evening when it's all lit up! Beautiful building and really friendly service. Highly recommended 👌

My type of place! Lots of variety drinks wise, and what an interior! Full of Breweriana, you could spend hours in there admiring that alone! I intend to go back to Belfast to see a game, and here will be my first pub to re-visit!!

Hidden gem if you can find it and if it’s open! It was closed when we got there because it was early so go in the afternoon. from what we were able to see when we took a peek it was cute and definitely instagram worthy.

Favourite pub in Belfast (?). That perfect mix of a great experience for tourists and still draws the locals. Amazing decor and even serves Beamish!

Heard about this place from a friend and they said you must visit while here. Quick service for our drinks and then sat outside and took in the atmosphere, and people watched. Loved it. And you will too.

Asked by staff to put on a make and then laughed at by him when you tell him that your mask extent. Then looks at you as if to say ya right when you say again you are extent. Then the mad thing looks at you knowing your looking a drink to turn his back on you and walk away. Not a nice member of staff to laugh at you and then walk away knowing you are looking service. I don't care who this guy is, the owner or just a member of staff he seriously lacked customer service. Ended up getting served by a female member of staff who had a bit more customer service. Sad as this is a bar I like I may not be in it ever night, but still enjoy the nights out here when I do. Will not be back in a here in a hurry or let any travelers know about it as I have done in the past.

A classic pub which is really lively and has a great atmosphere. The staff were all super friendly and service was very efficient. The umbrellas outside are also a really cool feature that make some great photos.

You simply can't miss this traditional Irish club. The ambience is simply amazing. Every nook and corner is decorated with so many old memories. Creates a unique ambience. Usually quite crowded over the weekend. Completely worth your time with your friends. Great choice of alcohol. Standard pricing.

Stopped in for a pint of Guinness on our recent trip to Belfast. The atmosphere was absolutely brilliant, even on a Thursday night. There was live music, it was packed full with people and the decor of the pub is definitely eye catching. Worth a visit!

What an amazing place full of happy people and happy staff. Made to feel really welcome in a historic pub which has to be seen to be believed. Great hot whiskey on a wet Belfast night.

Loved this pub, incredible range of vintage pub signs etc decorating the place which I loved. Staff worked hard to serve you quickly. Heineken lager cold and I'm told Guinness lovely and cold too.

Popped in for a couple of beers - excellent atmosphere and staff, loved visiting. So much stuff on the walls to keep you entertained and chatting. Shame it closes at 10:30 on a Saturday night (no idea if this was because COVID or not)! Would highly recommend

Quirky little place for a drink, tucked away in the Cathedral Quarter this pub was busy but after waiting a couple of minutes we got a seat. A couple of violins playing added to the atmosphere. The memorabilia all over the walls in the bar meant for interesting reading. Recommend you pop in for one

Only in Belfast can you meet someone who will tell you stories to make your day. My dad and I had an absolutely wonderful time here tonight, so much history in the bar itself and the stories that the patrons tell. Not to mention, they have a wonderful whiskey selection!

A great atmosphere and interesting history. Closed 8pm though, Covid seems to have kept customers away. Good location and good pint too

A proper pub out of a long vanished time. Helpful and welcoming people, cracking pint of Beamish and the shiniest copper tabletops in the northern hemisphere. Recommended for a quick pitstop or a prolonged session soaking up the charming atmosphere.

Beautiful murals. To access it you would have to go through the Duke of York. I went to explore it after lunch there, and had the whole courtyard to myself. So many stories painted into those murals. Loved it.
