I was beyond disappointed by my experience with this establishment. I am not one to leave negative reviews. I phoned same day of arrival to book a room, when I arrived I noticed their dumpster was beyond overflowing with trash, there was a person sheltering (I wish him all the best, truly โค๏ธ) under a tarp in the lot, and there were signs posted everywhere that no visitors are allowed after 7PM. I was not told this upon booking and was intending to have a quick hello and meal with a friend coming from Tofino to Victoria around 9. When I said I was uncomfortable staying here, I was told I would still have to pay for the room despite booking same day and not even entering the unit. I asked to see the room, the furniture was in terrible shape and the room smelt awful. They made me pay for a night despite it all and me not staying here and told me I was lucky they weren't charging me for the 2 nights I'd hoped to stay. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place that is admittedly still *motel vibes*, Augusta Inn is great. I would never return to The Cliffe.

My wife and I stayed there for a week and our experience was anything but pleasant. Our entry card had to be rescaned on numerous occasions. We had to ask for housekeeping to come in and change the towels and give us clean sheets. The staff was great to deal with. It's ok for a one night stay but if you need something for a longer stay...find yourself a different place.

Thank you to the wonderful manager Omar for ensuring a great stay while I was visiting! The room was the only moderate part as they havenโ€™t been renovated yet. However, everything you need is there. I have no complaints at all. Comfy beds and nice linens. Excellent customer service. Iโ€™m very much looking forward to my next stay

If you want to stay in a low class crack shack this is the place. The rooms are gross beyond. The staff will lie and your rooms will not be clean. There's blood stains homeless people on the nod in the parking lot. It's gross beyond . If you complain about it they just refuse to do anything and if you ask to speak with management they will give you the run around and refuse to do anything. And give you the boot and rip you off. If you can sleep in a ditch I'd choose the ditch it would be cleaner. Never stay or go there

Friendly service but unclean rooms! The bed side table was dirty, garbage behind the microwave. Out dated furniture/tv stand. Bathroom wasnโ€™t clean. Old thin towels. Room key didnโ€™t work a couple times I stayed for 5 nights. But with all this the bed was comfy.

This used to be an old Travelodge, we stayed here to be closer Nanaimo To catch an early ferry and not spend a fortune, but you definitely get what you pay for. The rooms are really run down and in dire need of renovations. Our room had bugs on the table when we first walked in, little beetle looking creatures and a couple small ants and at the bathroom mirror a larger winged ant like bug. The beds looked clean enough and were comfortable enough, but hard not to feel like something was crawling on you after seeing the bugs on entrance. Some noise noted from highway, parking lot was quiet

The managers/owners genuinely care. Above and beyond service. I will stay there again, and I will recommend to others up here to race at the fantastic Saratoga Motorsports park. Very clean!!

Giving a great review mainly for two things: Smiley, Kind sevice. The young man & woman at the desk were both at ease and friendly. The housekeeper was very friendly and polite too! Secondly the beds were clean and the place smelled fresh plus airconditioning for the price! if you are just needing a place to sleep and dont need fancy decor -this is good. I think if they do more rennovations their price will go up, but all in all it is a good night stopover. I did see cleaning streaks on the faucets but that means clean. rugs are poor and a floor laminate may be the solution.

Stayed here 3 nights for a wedding. Very run down. Rooms in desperate need of renovation. My first room had no shower curtain, nowhere to hang my clothes, musty smell in the room and no TV remote. Was moved to a slightly better room the next night. They donโ€™t clean your room unless requested and donโ€™t give you clean towels the next day. You get what you pay for. Location was great though.

Excellent service, very friendly. Sheets were soft, clean and comfortable. Very clean. Wifi good, tv mediocre. All in all great place for a quick stay

Avoid this place. Came for a wedding booked 4 rooms and not a good thing to say about any of them. No wifi available in 3 rooms. One room actually had no shower curtain - no wifi and a broken AC unit. Keys had to be activated again every day at every room, when we asked why our rooms had not been made up we were told itโ€™s only done on request or on tge 5th day!! If you wanted clean towels you had to bring your dirty ones to the office and trade them in. When they addressed this with tge manager Omar he told me there was nothing he could do - we can check out but had to pay a cancellation fee. Worst stay ever

If you can afford to stay anywhere better, do. Reeks of air freshener & old smoke. Bedding is skimpy. Few amenities, not even water glasses. Staff friendly but canโ€™t fix the accommodations. I suppose you get what you pay for.

I stayed here at the end of August. Single queen bed had a good mattress, clean sheets. Bathroom was ok, shower was ok. I had to have the room entry card re-energized four times. I was not the only one with this problem. That needs to be fixed because it's annoying having to go to the office before entering your room every time. The desk clerk was always friendly and apologetic about the key card problem.

It's a decent hotel at a bargain price. Rooms were clean, service was good. No surprises.
