I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the process in place for using the public washroom at the Cranbrook, BC Safeway location. I recently experienced a significant invasion of privacy due to a failed procedure, and I feel compelled to bring this matter to your attention. On numerous occasions, I have encountered instances where the washroom door is either left wide open or only partially closed, rendering the key requirement ineffective. However, today's incident was particularly distressing. I entered the washroom without a key, as the door was open, only to have another individual request the key and proceed to open the door while I was using the facilities. This blatant violation of my personal space caused me immense embarrassment and distress, especially considering I am a 17-year-old individual. After the incident, I approached the customer service desk to address the violation and discuss the flawed procedure with the key system. The main issue lies in the fact that the washroom door lacks a proper hinge mechanism to close automatically to prompt a key request. This oversight greatly compromises the intended privacy and security of the facility. I kindly request that immediate action be taken to rectify this situation. It is essential that the washroom door be properly equipped to close securely when the key is requested, ensuring the privacy of individuals using the facility. This measure will not only prevent future occurrences of invasion of privacy but also promote a safe and respectful environment for all customers. I hope that my feedback will prompt a thorough review of the current process and lead to appropriate modifications. Everyone deserves to have their privacy respected, and I trust that Safeway shares this sentiment. In my 10 year experience I would like to appreciate and giving 5 stats to the young girl Rajvir working at deli she’s always there to help while others are always hiding back in kitchen and rude. I know the management is s.h.i.t at this place -10stars for management.

Awesome service and wide selection of grocery items. there's also a deli and soup counter. Lots of pre-made sandwiches and there is also a coffee-bar.

Convenient location, unfortunately it's not a pleasant place to shop. Staff is sour and aloof. They used to at least say hi, or thank you even in the self check out lanes. The bakery has gone from a good bet to always disappointing. They use glaze as fondant, donuts went from a nice treat to a waste of time. French bread is inconsistent at best. It's the only downtown grocery store, so for single items like milk or juice it's fine, but for larger shops we avoid it now. Very downhill since Sobeys acquired the brand.

Good place to get groceries if you watch for deals but a little bit pricey for what you get

Great products, clean store, great service. Can be a little pricey but the atmosphere, ease of finding and great service make up for the price difference

Safeway is Safeway 🤷‍♀️ the staff is friendly and the store is organized and clean. The mall itself is much better than it used to be. It's now a medical centre such as physio, specialists and an urgent care center

We came in from out of town and had ordered a bunch of party trays from the deli and Simone was so lovely and helpful! Thank you for all of your help and yummy food!!

Safeway has always been good, at least here. Best produce in town as it's a much quieter store compared to Walmart or Save On, also has the best meat department in town. I've also found in my 20+ years shopping here that they have exotic foods and brands you can't find anywhere else. I find they switch things up more than other stores, but they almost always add something when they do, so it's at least worth the walk around. If they've ever taken away an item I've grown fond of, they actually brought it back more often than not. Probably out of bulk asking for it back. Not everything I like has returned over the years, but it was only items clearly not selling as much, but if you want it back, there is a chance. It also has a Starbucks inside, and the Cranbrook Mall is next door.

Fresh Bakery, Deli has great assortment of sandwich meats. I find China Lily Soya Sauce, Honey Dill Sauce, friendly service.

The store itself is fine, staff is nice but I find the bakery section is usually dry, stale or old and today I had the Asian food from behind the glass and it was awful! The honey garlic chicken was actually soggy pork not chicken, and the sweet and sour pork was soggy and tasted terrible. $10 into the trash. 4/5 for the store itself 1/5 for the Asian cuisine.

When I walk into Safeway I know where everything is located people are friendly and I noticed they tried to remember who you are so the next time you're in they can greet You by name I highly recommend Safeway

Prices on some items are definitely higher than other locations (Walmart) but I generally enjoy shopping here more as it is less crowded and quicker to get in and out.

Great selection, but prices are unreasonably high. The music could be turned down enough to hear the yourself think too.

Clean, convenient, fresh vegetables, love the bakery and deli, the Floral dept, cant say enough about these girls, their arrangements are gorgeous and they last for quiet awhile. Quick service, cashiers are friendly knowledgable and get you on your way

One of the best Safeway locations I have felt with over the past years. Unfortunately they don't have one in Prince George,and that surprises me cause PG is a very big place.

This is a good Safeway, they have a nice bakery area and we found everything we were looking for.

Really what can I say,, it's a Safeway store, so it's good, it's got everything you need, it's got different stuff than what we find at the grocery stores in Creston, so when I need something that's a little different, then I can go there, when I'm in Cranbrook!

Was higher rated before the blatant age discrimination and the fact that the departments that prep food do NOT wear hair nets [disgusting and against food safe regulations]. Safeway if you check receipts you need to check everyone's not just the kids I have seen more theft in that store by adults then youth and this is not the way one should handle the youth theft.

The food I bought was in a sealed plastic package which is surprising because of how old and stale the food was. All of the workers that helped me seemed like they hated their lives, and I was stared at by employees and a security guard for my whole visit, I assume because I am a teenager. Go somewhere else.

Its not the same as it was when I grew up but there are some amazing businesses in there with very caring people

S'alright, I guess. Pretty much your cookie cutter, corporate rollout type Safeway. People there seem nice. You're not going to this Safeway because they have something other Safeways don't have, it's the same store as the one in Calgary or Winnipeg. Their Starbucks ran out of dark roast, so I forced my mother to drink an Americano without telling her.

Bought some fruit trays for a funeral and it was a very easy no fuss experience that resulted in wonderful fresh fruit trays made right before I came to pick them up ! We really enjoyed the fresh fruit and the variety. It was professional an do a great service for me. Thank you!

Decent place overall. Some employees are sub par, but obviously doesn’t reflect the overall of the business itself.

Good experience. The place is maintained and well cleaned. The staff is helpful and friendly. If there is a product you'd like to see stocked, they will oblidge. Always has fresh meat cuts, good deli, fresh flowers and arrangements, and the bakery section thrives!
