Very nice and quiet campground. We stayed in an RV site for the week while visiting family. One of the cleanest and most secure bath houses I've seen. Each room had a pad lock, toilet, sink, and shower.

We loved the hiking trail down by the camping area. We plan on trying some of the other hiking areas and the disc golf course there on another day.

Beautiful spot. Was there for a conference and the setting and accomodations in the building were amazing. Can't wait to go do some trail hiking.

The disc golf course is pretty new. The signs are great and easily read. They did a great job at cutting and mulching through the fairways. There's some areas you want to make sure you stay in the fairway. Otherwise you're going to deal with briars. The mandos make sense and are clearly marked throughout the course. A gold level course so not for your beginners or family weekend players just out having fun. This course is designed specifically for experienced players and distance throwers. The wind was definitely a factor today and I have been told it seems to always be windy coming off the lake. There was a fairway that had a bench sitting next to the basket which made zero sense. There needs to be benches by the tees. The course was very fun and had a mixture of open and a few wooded holes. Was really cool to have Blackhawk helicopters flying above from time to time. Some low lying areas may become muddy after a strong rain, but today that was not a problem. Also, as a bonus got to see a pretty cool fox squirrel. I like the course and will be back to play more.

Spent a lot of time mountain biking these trails before I moved out of Fayetteville. They aren't the steepest or longest trails, but they are really fun to ride🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️ !!!! There is riding for all levels, and some jumps, and other features as well.

The kids really enjoy the the entire park. Great place to go and grill out and enjoy time with family and friends. Great park for all ages, nice variety of play areas. Also basketball courts and a volleyball court as well.

The MWR sponsored aquatic area was AMAZING! It's like those movies where they have kids running around all on water obstacles courses, watched people swim, kayak and paddle board and also watch some water ski! Never been to a lake with all those amenities so close to each other before. The only thing, that is obviously a personal problem, is not knowing what is exactly under the water since it is pretty murky and red looking. Overall, a great place with all the lifeguards watching the water and a gated area made me feel really at ease letting my kids run around the beach. We stayed from open until the aquatic park had its last call for playing!

I was incredibly impressed by the cleanliness, quality and number of amenities at Smith Lake. My biggest regret was not coming here sooner. For those with kids they have two playgrounds dispersed under the shade of pine trees that are perfect for them to play in. Plenty of picnic tables and areas for get togethers or outdoor parties that look great to use (note: you do have to pay to reserve these tables). I only hiked a small portion of one trail that appeared to be mostly gravel which I didn't like, but there are other trails to try. Beginning memorial day there is a beach area area and plenty to rent to go out on the water. Lots to do here and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to spend some time outside.

We stay at the Smith Lake campground a few times a year when in the Fayetteville area and it is one of our favorite campgrounds. The shower facilities (if needed) are clean and well maintained, the laundry is OK, and we love walking our dog around the area. There are quite a few channels available over air, but they do suffer from interference from the helos that fly overhead. If you've lived on a base with jets the sound from the helicopters probably won't bother you. The only thing we don't love about Smith Lake is that there is no wi-fi. Even if it was a separate amenity that had to be purchased separately it would be nice if it was available for those who need it for work/school.

Great place to stay when visiting family members stationed at Bragg/Pope. Close enough location if Soldier is on QRF/recall. Very clean and safe.

Wow wow wow! What a great experience for my high school cadets! Win for the army! Had every thing we needed for true camping and also bathrooms clean warm and in great condition. Such a great time here in December

Use the equipment rental. I rented a travel trailer for 4 days, price was very reasonable, staff was helpful in reserving it, once there the person walked me through everything I needed to know to tow and use the camper. Turning it in was easy and everything could not have gone better

This place was really wonderful to visit and relax with friends. I was impressed at how clean it was. Water is a bit "orange"?? The children loved the giant inflatable course. I would say that it would have been nice to use our own small inflatables/floaties. Great place to cool off and look forward to going back.

Was a enjoyable time. Stayed for 5 nights. Price was good at $23 a night. Not bad with helo noise(the sound of freedom). Stayed in site 10 only problem was the concrete man followed the plumbers rule heavy for grade. 9” difference from front to back and side of slab. But would stay again just in a different site.

The place is really nice to take your kids too. They have lots of changing stations, showers and bathrooms. They have picnic tables & chairs & lots of room to set up your own area if wanted. They have so much to do for a great price. $5 to just swim and $40 for kayaking, paddle boarding, pedal boards, aqua park and ski rixen. I paid $40 just to kayak at cape fear river for 2 hours and nothing more. My only two problems is the water appeared to be red & after we got out we had red dye looking stuff stuck to our body. I’ve been trying to look it up and I can’t tell if it was actually safe to swim in. Also the lifeguards would rather me hold my baby in the water instead of letting me use the baby float we brought. The only ones you’re allowed to use are apparently the coast guard approved ones which cost a lot. Yes they’re worth the investment but why not let us use the one we have today instead of telling me it’s not allowed.

I would not recommend this campground. There is no security or ID check so there’s lots of late night traffic driving through the campsites scoping out your stuff. The nights there are no employees, Tues/Wed a large group of shirtless old dudes show up to play basketball and smoke weed in the courts near the playground. I saw a drug deal go down over by the mountain bike trail. I’m sure it’s hard to control being so close to Fayetteville but I wish they’d have better security at the front entrance. The lake also costs to use each day. I didn’t see that when booking so that was disappointing. Other than all that the site itself was small, clean and efficient. Our neighbors were quiet and the bathrooms were clean.

The MWR facility was much nicer than I ever expected. They showed us the lake and all the fun things you can do (jet ski, obstacle course, and more)

You only get an answering machine, they never return your calls,an 🆔 card holder it's the worst place to inquire about, civilian employees have the job at mwr to long and take there job for granted,I would not recredtommend wasting your gas.

We walked on a trail and went to the rec center afterwards. We sat in the screen enclosure and ate our sandwich admiring the lake view

Great campsite. Most of the sites on loop C are semi water front. The sites are a little close though.

Wow . This place is great. Kids loved it. Would definitely plan something here in the future. More than you can do in a day!

Nice area. Lots of shade for hot days. Clean and functional bathrooms. I wish they had larger playgrounds for the in-between toddlers. Our 4 yr old gets pretty bored quickly because 1 park is for younger kids and the other doesn't have much to do for younger ones afraid of heights. It's labeled for 5 and above anyways.
