Birthplace of Great Son of Mother India, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Janakinath Bhavan - Netaji's home turned into a museum and is open to the public. It's definitely a must visit place for all who believe that Netaji has a great contribution in Freedom of India. In this museum, you will get to know so much about Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. This museum beautifully preserves few belongings of Netaji and his family. Entry fee is only Rs 10. You cannot take pictures inside the museum.

One of the best museums on Cuttack, Odisha. The museum is very well maintained. The entry fees is only rs 10 ( july 2022). The place is full of plants and greenery all around. The place has preserved every little things associated with the life of brave netaji. Indeed a good place for the students to visit and learn about his life struggle and story. There is a souvenir shop to purchase little things associated to Netaji

Very emotional place for all in general and like me,in particular.Only for visiting this auspicious place,I had travelled to Cuttack. Since photography is not allowed in the museum, one has to be satisfied with the mental visit to cherish in future. Well maintained memorial.

The ticket counter on the left to the entry gate. It costs only Rs.10 per person. And is closed from 1:30pm to 2:00pm for lunch break. And the place is open even on sunday. But if you are in the premises before that you are still allowed to see things. The place was neat and clean and well maintained. There was no rush when we visited. Photography is not allowed inside the museum but you can click pics when you are outside of the building. The place is obviously historically significant. Its a must visit.

It was a great experience to see Netaji's birthplace. The road to this place goes through narrow streets but it's nothing compared to the route taken by Netaji for our country's freedom fight.

The place is well maintained and has a lot of information about the life of Netaji. Right from his rooms and all the artifacts used by his family. There are a host of photo gallery depicting various milestones in his life including his daring escape to Germany, detailing his journey. It is 30 to 45 mins drive from Bhubaneswar, we went mainly to see this place and show our son the historical place and the glimpse in to the life of one of the greatest freedom fighter.

Step into the world of one of the greatest freedom fighters, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Located in Oriya Bazaar in the city of Cuttack, Netaji Birth Place is an ancestral house of Subhas Chandra Bose - India’s one of the greatest freedom fighters. Janakinath Bhawan is the place where Netaji used to live and now has been converted into a museum where you get a chance to trace his life from his childhood to early days as a freedom fighter. This beautifully converted museum boasts a unique assortment of antiques, books, documents, articles, and other belongings of Netaji. These assortments are collected from various sources. Moreover, there are also 22 handwritten letters by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose for his family and also to other leaders. The museum also includes a horse cart that belonged to his family and also used by other leaders as well. Evidently, one of the best museums to visit in Odisha, Netaji Birth Place also houses a library where a large collection of books published by Netaji in different languages are kept on display. The library includes more than 500 books that tell tourists about Netaji’s life. During your visit to this museum, you will get a glimpse of ancient India during the struggle for freedom.

One of the best places to visit in Cuttack if you are a Nationalist or a history buff. And soak in the vibes of Netaji's adolescence moments at his father's ancestral place. Odisha tourism is doing a good job but they can make ticketing process more efficient and add some hand sanitizing stations around the place.

Most know Netaji belonging to Kolkata, but not all of them know that he was born in Cuttack - Janakinath Bhawan (named after his father, Janakinath, which has now been turned into a museum. It is an overwhelming experience. The premises are well-maintained and some parts are under renovation. There is a huge and well-kept garden of numerous flowering plants and trees around the house, and on entering the house, one walks the corridors and the stairs that hold history of the Great Indian Hero - Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Besides library, media room and other offices for administration and maintenance work, there are 12 galleries that depict the childhood, growing up, spiritual awakening, political life, prison life, military leadership and other aspects of Netaji’s life. Many belongings of the family and INA have been preserved and put on display. One can also see (from outside the window) the room that is believed to be the birth room of Netaji. There is also a shrine outside the house that was established by Netaji’s father, and a recreation of the stable and horse and buggy ride at the entrance, It is very educational for young children to witness history upfront and for grown-ups to feel inspired on visiting here. Entry fees are ₹10 per head for Indians and ₹20 for foreigners. Photographs can be taken from outside the house and also of the gardens, but is strictly prohibited inside the house. People can also climb the stairs to pay homage to the busy statue of Netaji but they have to remove their shoes before ascending. There is toilet and drinking water facility for visitors inside the museum, and availability of parking outside the entrance.

It was a good experience, knowing about the birth place of Netaji and his life. It was quiet (very few people) and well kept. Photography is not allowed inside the galley. There are good collection of photos and details about Azad Hind Fauj. I wish more people visit here and learn about Netaji. Worth a visit for those who love history.

I felt like an historical adventure to the past. Antique articles, old newspapers, handwritten letters and photographs gives us a insight of life and how Netaji contributed to India's independence. The Interior of the house is beautiful and some of the rooms have been preserved in the same state as back then which makes it more intriguing.

Little inside from main road. A must-visit place in Cuttack. Well kept and clean. The best part was very good people who allowed entry on tickets, of course, when the time was almost over since they knew we were visitors from other state. One gets to know about a little known portion of India's struggle for independence. One learns there how one person can have a great vision about an independent country and what all HE would have to do to obtain that. It was an eye-opening experience about a great leader who so far existed in text books only for me.

This place definitely have a lot of significance from Indian history perspective.... The birth place is sort of converted into museum...however from a collection perspective it is minimal.... The photos and life journey is part of the museum but not many arrificats... however overall you will feel good going to this place and to understand the initial part of our great leader Netaji

Great life time experience. You feel the sacrifice of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose towards our nation by leaving his cosy life. Also history of his NIA contribution towards freedom. Very well maintained. Absolutely amazing.

Good place to know more about Netaji Subhash Bose. All his life events and family related things are well displayed in different galleries . Also you can buy attractive souvenirs at good price from the Souvenir Shop. It also has a nice well maintained garden.

This place is the birth place of our beloved freedom fighter Sri Subhash Chandra Bose. When you visit this place you'll get mesmerized with the dedication of Subhash Chandra Bose for his mother land. Nice collection of photographs about his life. You might know very little about him. Once you visit you can understand the level of his work. One person travels round the globe and meets many people and establishes INA. He liberated Andaman Nicobar and established the government. Having his own army, own bank, own stamps, own currency and many more things. He opened embassies in different countries. Recruited army in different countries. Started radio broadcasting in Germany. All looks unimaginable for a person but he did it. In return of that we didn't allow him to come into our country because he was the war criminal for the British and we have accepted it. We can't repay him for the sacrifice he made. Jai Hind.

Nice meuseum in Cuttack. This meuseum holds the birth place (or the room) of supreme legend Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Apart from than, his child life, study life, spiritual life, family life, political life (his interaction with other leaders) working (Indian freedom struggle ) etc are displayed in the meuseum. I was wondered when got to know more information about the Indian National Academy and Azaz Hind Fauj operation. This truly indicates the bravery of that man. I like the thing that how is Netaji's emotional relationship with Odisha. Overall the meuseum is good and the garden near the meuseum is very beautiful.
