We thoroughly enjoyed our free walking with Paul. We opted for the Vieux Lyon tour and it was a good introduction to the old town covering the cathedral, several of the passageways, local restaurants and other sites of interest. It was a flat easy walk and included lots of history on the area.

Paul is a great tour guide, has great enthusiasm, knowledge and stories and the fun stops make the 2 hours go by very quickly. We covered more in 2 hours than I'd discovered in one week, yet despite the heat it wasn't tiring at all. I highly recommend you try his tours when you're in Lyon. The tours are free and you give him a tip of your choice at the end.

Paul is a fantastic guide, and we took both his Vieux Lyon and City Tour Lyon. Both tours covered different areas with different information. We learned so much about the city quickly, about bouchons, traboules, the silk trade history, the Roman ruins, churches, etc. Paul is very knowledgeable and passionate about Lyon and giving of information. He speaks multiple languages and is very personable. We would have taken a third tour with him if available. Highly recommended!!

I highly recommend this tour. The tour guide is knowledgeable and takes visitors to a lot of interesting spots you may not find on your own, including the traboules (public passage ways through buildings). Really appreciated his excellent recommendations. This tour works on tips - and for 2 hours of learning about Lyon it’s well worth 10 euro a person. That’s what we tipped and we saw others tipping the same. You’re free to tip less or more - whatever you want!

Paul was an amazing guide! His historical perspective helped us learn more about Lyon than we could on our own. We liked his first tour so much, we signed up for a second which covered a different part of the city. Would highly recommend both!!! We appreciated his tips on restaurants and what to do.

Excellent walking tour of Lyon! Paul is a nice guy with heaps of fun facts and a great sense of humour. He brought the streets of Lyon alive for us in a holistic way with his understanding of history, sociology, engineering and politics. With some yummy food and drink options recommended too. We took both his tours and enjoyed them thoroughly.

I went on two different walking tours in September: Free Tour of Vieux Lyon and Free City Tour Lyon. The guide is very entertaining, speaks a very good english (he is Dutch) and knows the city very well. He shared a lot of quality content about the city and even gave plenty of hints about what to visit, where to eat, where to get coffee etc. Totally recommend it.

I always book a walking tour when I arrive in a new city and because these tours are usually free, you never really know what you will get. This tour with Paul was extremely informative and fun. It was just enough time and effort to remain engaged and excited. I definitely enjoyed it and would recommend joining at least one of his tours to learn something new.

Free walking tours are the best to see the city from a local’s perspective and learn more about its history and fun facts. I really enjoyed this one and would recommend it to friends.

We did the Sunday tour recently and enjoyed it very much. Paul was full of interesting information and stories and we learned a lot. He also provided restaurant recommendations. Most impressed with how he managed a group of at least 30, it did not feel too big at all, he kept things moving at a very good pace. It was a beautiful walk and a very good use of our time! Thank you Paul!

The tour was very good! Paul is very outgoing and gave us a lot of interesting information about the city and also very good tips about restaurants and places to visit. He also showed us the "secret" passages around the city. Definetely recommend it if you want to learn a bit about the city and have more information to enjoy even more your stay in the beautiful Lyon. Thank you again Paul, I will for sure book the other tours once I come back to Lyon :)

A great tour! I stumbled upon this tour on the internet and joined the next morning. Paul has a great affinity for Lyon and knows the goings-on and history very well, so much so that I walked away with a deeper appreciation for the city. This tour covers a decent amount of ground and I couldn’t recommend it enough! You’ll also get to meet other visitors :)

The tour was super, as some french people says! Paul is a great guide and knows a lot about Lyon and it's history. If you are in Lyon do not miss this!

Paul was amazing. We learned so much about the City during our 2 hrs with him. We appreciate that he moved to Lyon after having lived in other countries. He showed us many secret passages and pointed out signs and interesting facts that we wouldn’t have otherwise noticed. He provided enough historical context to keep the conversation engaging. Highly recommended!

Paul’s tour of Lyon was really excellent! The tour was informative both with the history of the city but also for things to do today. I feel like I got a really great sense of the culture of the city as well, and had a better visit to Lyon thanks to it. Highly recommend!

Great guide! During the tour you can really feel, that Paul is a person who loves discovering places and so he did with Lyon. You learn a lot about the bigger history of Lyon, but you discover a lot of small details with him too! Would totally recommend it!

Great experience, really made me fall in love with Lyon, Paul gave great practical information which then informed the rest of our stay - the boats on the Rhone for afternoon drinks was a winner! Paul was a very natural story teller with the insight of a local with the appreciation/observations of an outsider. If we had had time we would have done both tours but we were on a tight itinerary.

Paul was an excellent guide. He was perfectly prepared and his utterance was well articulated. We've got to know information and stories about Lyon which we would have no time to search for or we couldn't even find. The length (~2 hours) is just perfect for this kind of activity. Even though the weather was freezing cold, it was very well worth participating in the tour. I can only recommend it to everybody who goes to Lyon.

This was a wonderful tour highlighting some of Lyon’s best spots, honoring the history of the city, and learning about current culture of the city. While this walking tour is family friendly, I would not recommend with a stroller. There were a LOT of stairs to walk up.

Paul is a fantastic guide with a wry sense of humour balanced by in depth knowledge of the city he obviously loves. He is patient and good humored controlling a group of nearly 40 with a strong voice and clear guidance. Good source of local knowledge too for restaurants and shops. Book a tour, you won't be disappointed!👍🏻
