If someone said this has the very best food stands anywhere, would you believe them? Even if you knew about Paul Bocuse? Even if you knew Lyon was the food capital of France? It does sound too good to be true. But National Champion craftsmanship (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) in multiple categories can be found here. As those are only awarded every four years, having multiple award winners in one place is pretty amazing. It would be like walking into a food court and having multiple three star Michelin chefs behind the counters. Take time to enjoy sample offerings. Linger. Unless you live in Lyon, you won't have a chance to get used to this.

The pastries are so pretty, it feels almost guilty to eat them. Nonetheless, I ate them. I ordered the chocolate mousse one and I was thinking of getting more but it's so rich that I was very full at the end. I'd like to go back and more of the pastries. There were dozens and dozens!

This is a nice indoor market. It has quite different atmosphere to la boqueria market in Barcelona. Both of them are great place to see and eat. But, this market has unique features like quiet and less crowded. Local fruits, cured meat , and seafood were excellent. My wife and I enjoyed cured meat and varieties of seafood, oysters, sea urchins, shrimps, and clams. They know how to sell and packages cured meat. One of stores used a vacuum sealed package for cured meat. We felt safe to carry them. All of staffs were friendly and kind. One of members even made a luxury restaurant reservation for us. I think that they know good local restaurants because they are the food suppliers.

This is a lovely spot, well worth a visit, since you are in the gastronomical capital of France. Great selection of seafood, meats, pork, cheeses and wines on display and for sale. Many people dine here at reasonable prices. It attracts locals and tourists alike. It is open all week, but Sunday morning is our favourite day here.

Even if you are not a gourmand, I totally recommend this place if you want to have a true Lyonnais experience. The food smells and tastes excellent and the cakes and cookies are amazing.

A very upper market Les Halles, well compared to other ones we have been to in France anyway. Prices are probably higher too. One can easily spend 3 hours here walking around and trying the amazing locally made food. We ate at one of the seafood restaurants where the waiter took me over to the selection of seafood where I chose what to eat (oysters, rasor clams, prawns, gumbo prawns, crabs, tiny little prawns (I'm sure there is a French name for them, but you must try them as they are so sweet and tasty with mayo!). From other stalls we also purchased fresh truffle, cheese, roast pork, truffle risotto, fois gros and fig, fois gros creme brulee...the list goes on! So much to try and so many local dishes which I don't know the names of unfortunately. The halls was the cleanest I have been to. Toilets located inside.

Interesting high class indoor food market near to the Westfield Shopin Centre in Lyon. C3 bus stops outside. Cappuccino coffee was OK, but not the best we had in Lyon.

A must-see in Lyon. About 45 minute walk from downtown but worth the effort. Many food stalls inside with amazing dishes. Lots of areas to sit and eat your purchases. Large selection of different stalls, all looked fabulous. Our food was amazing and we would have come again if we were staying closer to it.

Beautiful but highly expensive marketplace in Lyon. I think the food and pastries here are good but you can get food and pastries as good as here for lower prices around the city. Worth a visit nonetheless, it is a good marketplace with many fresh seafood items as well.

Over the moon. This is a food mecca for all epicureans. This established Lyon as a good capital. So happy to work next door!

So many choice- and none of them are wrong! Had fresh oysters- and when I say fresh I mean that they tasted as if plucked out of the ocean! Served with a friendly smile and quick service. 10 out of 10 will be going back!

Love their mini praline tarts! All the patisserie are very well presented. Good stop for a treat :)

Good for something to do/see. There are lots of different stalls (around 42) selling fresh produce and cooked food to eat. Prices are on the high side compared to your regular supermarket or boulangerie. Would I come here again? No. Are you going to miss much? No.

Upscale farmers market in Lyon, France. 🇫🇷 where you can find a wide variety of seafood/meats/cheeses and pasteries for days! Not to be missed when your in Lyon. You can also dine in this always busy market. Kirk Regalia Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida U.S.A.

If you’re in Lyon this place is a MUST MUST! Best oysters you’d ever find anywhere! Prices are decent for the amazing quality of fresh food and produce you’re getting. Hands out one of the top places to try everything in one place.

You haven’t seen Lyon and the great variety of French cuisine if you haven’t been at Les Halles Paul Bocouse

The place was underwhelming. We went there in the afternoon, more than half the places were closed. I was very keen to get some cheese and meat, but only a handful of merchants let us try (only a select section of) cheeses.

The place to go for all the food and fresh local products lovers !

Definitely a must visit place in Lyon :) There you will find all kinds of delicatessen: from oysters and lobsters to typical French dishes like snails and saucisson lyonnais, fresh exotic fruits to freshly baked goods, cheeses, meats, etc… and you can both buy it to go and enjoy it there. All the locals go there, plus tourists, so it’s quite crowded, but super worth it!
