I find the extension on the top of the building very ugly and just an alien feature that's crowning a splendid architecture. Here especially in August you can witness free music shows and meet other peopl who gather here day and night.

I've never been inside just passing by and had a really good look. Visually impressive and yet from the distance, without seeing the entire building, it looks like a trainshed with its rounded glass dome! What really intrigues me is that on close observation, there are only eight muses! Scandale épouvantable! Poor Uranie, the 9th muse was removed for the building's symmetry sake! Still a stunning building to look at and it's right opposite Lyon City Hall.

Situated in a noisy & busy area in the heart of Lyon, this opera is easy to spot. Some part of the interior design is totally stunning. The plan of the building is quite complex and the toilet is not really clean.

You have to queue to enter the lift and reach the place. The Terrasse is small and getting a the view seats is a hustle . So if you're going for the pictures or the view, make sure you go a bit earlier than opening time. The place is nice. Service is alright. The appetizers are basic. But overall the place is great...

The modern-historical juxtaposition is not the best, but it is still a beautiful monument to visit

Came to see Tristan performed. The space is beautiful. Completely modern inside. Great acoustics. There is a dB meter inside the auditorium which was fun to watch to see how each of the singers compared.

A new concept on the old facade . I am still not sure how I feel about architect Jean Nouvel audacious concept. We took a guided tour that was excellent, well designed and delivered. I think this is the best way to get accustomed with the place. 5 stories down and 12 stories up, the visit is worth discovering.

I have been to Lyon a few times and can never imagine the interior of this building from outside. In addition, this is another work by Jean Nouvel (difficult to tell from the outside). Black and red set up a club feel under historical facets. It's quite small so it's OK to have a seat on the balcony. The foyer is very pleasant and you can have a drink. The staff is exceptionally nice.

The "Toaster" is visually compelling of new and old, of classic and modern, and a must see in Lyon. Also a rooftop cafe and bar when open. Night lights change with the season or causal support of humanity.

Great venue but the seats are appalling. No comfort whatsoever.

The theatre is so small for opera and felt very claustrophobic as soon as the doors were closed. As soon as you arrive you are confronted by escalators and it feels as if you arrived in a railway station or an airport. So unwelcoming. The seats were hard and uncomfortable and the orchestra was so muted as if someone had thrown a blanket over them. Then so many people in the audience coughing coughing and coughing a bit more... the coughs were louder than the music.... it really ruined the performance for me (thanks smokers)

The Open House behind-the-scenes was an excellent way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Merci à tous.

People there are very helpful. I loved the place, as well as the few operas and concerts I attended. It's so nice to visit. And the recommendations while reserving places online is also so helpful.

Great opera house. I was not expecting it to be so modern in the inside. Nice acoustic and the "Mefistofele" is great.

Very beautiful building mixing old architecture to the modern. Unfortunately, it’s closed due to the Covid pandemic

Very interesting architecture. Die building is beautiful and the hall on the roof perfect for relaxing and watching over the city center. We had a guided tour around the building so I didn't see any show but what's behind and that was very interesting. Perfrect for school classes
