Monte Pacis restaurant is a hidden gem. We ordered a 6 course tasting dinner (in advance) with wine pairing and had a Michelin level experience. The cooking was extremely creative and delicious. That is rare, because most of the trendy fine dining restaurants in Lithuania are good on presentation, but struggle to deliver flavours. This restaurant kept impressing us with each dish! The wine pairing was excellent. The hotel and restaurant is run by a family and the owner is a sommelier. They go through a great effort of ordering wine from small wine makers and monastery wineries and are very selective. Our waiter/sommelier Arnas told us stories about each wine and was very attentive. Honestly I don't know where else in Lithuania you can find someone who really understands wine like this and has so much passion about it. The service was also excellent. I would be comfortable with inviting any biggest foodie guests to this restaurant, it is a hidden gem and I would say that it deserves a Michelin star. We were truly impressed and would come back to Kaunas just for this restaurant!

A wonderful stay at Monte Pacis hotel located on the shores of the Kaunas lagoon! The hotel itself is situated in a Benedictine monastery with a history dating back to the 17th century. The room was spacious, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom had ample space. I must mention that it had the best hotel breakfast in Kaunas: impeccable Benedict, Florentine, and Royal eggs, along with juices and fragrant coffee. The service, like everything in this hotel, was flawless! We will definitely return!

    - The location is really unique, really beautiful lake and park nearby. Interior is really authentic. - The room was spacious enough, high ceilings look great. - The food was really good - Quiet room and facilities - Great restaurant staff - Internet in the room was unusable, kept disconnecting or super slow, basically I didn't have working internet in the room at all - To turn on the heating we had to get the remote from the reception by special request - Even with heating on it was not very comfortably warm in the room - The ceiling under the bed is really low so you have to crouch into the bed and be always careful to not hit the head - Restaurant room was really cold during the breakfast, so I had to eat with my winter down jacket on - There were no slippers in the room and the floor was tiled, so it wasn't very pleasant to walk on it with bare foot. We've got the slippers only the second morning - The floor in the shower is really slippery. I slipped and cracked my head. According to British and European hotel standards the floor has to be non-slippery, this hotel doesn't have this - Next day room service didn't stock up the water - It's really overrated and too expensive for such a quality. Unless you like to pay just for the view and "fancy" interior - Part of the staff feel like they don't care about guests

I'm never coming back to this place and would definitely not recommend it to anyone. Pathetic customer service, unable to comment on the food quality as we simply did not receive it. First of all we were informed there are no available tables and they couldn't give a timeline when to come back. After visiting the monastery we saw there were tables so we asked again, and after ordering the food we were told 20 min later that we have to order either salad or soup as we have to leave by 3pm. We were visiting with a toddler who was already hungry so we opted for the soup and salad options as they were on the days menu, and after all how long would it take to serve soup and salad. To our surprise the soup and salad order was served at the table next to us, to patrons that arrived and ordered after us. The waiting staff were judgemental and lingering around the bar and clearly not bothered to do their job. I'm never coming back to this place and would definitely not recommend it to anyone.

Really nice hotel in a quite place. We were 3 person and had a room in the 2nd floor. Staff was welcome and nice. We were really unlucky, because on that night was some meeting-party and because of that till 00:30 there was very noisy..and the worst thing that fish smell was everywhere 😞😞 maybe some problem with ventilation..I don’t know We didn’t have shampoo and everything was for 2 person, instead of 3 We were very exhausted after competition so we were not so happy to hear all that and feel this smell 😞 Breakfast was nice Really nice place and if there is no parties -it’s worth to stay there *by accident in a small closet we found a paper in Lithuania..English version was inside and there were some rules!!! Why not on the table or somewhere where we could see it! You can’t use an electric teapot- it was really strange, bet they had them in the room

Stayed in the hotel two nights in a triple room with two people. Ate dinner in the restaurant once, had a catered dinner the second night. The rug in the room was full of someone else's hair. The shower had no shortage of mold. Even with the historic building, these types of things for a hotel of this rating and price can't be excused. The food was good enough, yet not remarkable. One of our group's steaks was ordered medium-well but served rare (language was not a problem, almost all the staff spoke English very well). I believe the high reviews are mainly from people who just may not know any better. The location is, however, quite interesting. Apparently their parking lot is a local a hangout spot of sorts for 16-26 year olds, which while a bit weird, wasn't really troublesome. Staff very friendly, especially the bar staff. If you go, go in with moderately low expectations.

Enjoyed some of the finest beef I've had in a long while. Pleasant wine and coffee, polite and friendly service. A stroll through the grounds and a walk in nearby Kauno marios regional park. We keep returning to Monte Pacis for good reason.

My wife and I went to the restaurant for a 6 course dinner with wine pairing. Everything was excellent, from start to finish. Amazing thanks to our server and sommelier Redas, who took the time to explain every single wine and dish with lots of passion. He made our dinner a memorable experience! We will be back :) Thank you again, Redas!

Delicious food, good service, an okey wine selection. A bit too small space from tables, but better when dining in hallway.

The burger was soggy, too many sauces, too many spices in the beef. I couldn't taste the beef at all. The worst burger I ever ate for a whopping 15 euros. The duck was ok. Also the duck ravioli soup was ok. Nothing special. The best dish was my sons pancakes from kids menu. We left the restaurant disappointed. It used to be better. Our server was also very cold, unfriendly ... I am giving 3 stars because of the pancakes. Otherwise, it would 2.

We had a New Year celebration dinner that was suppose to be a six course meal. My wife and I both left mildly hungry as the dishes were mosty one bite. The food was good but nothing special. I expected more considering the price, since they basically serve the same for their business dinner and this was kind of a special night. For me personally it was weird serving fish and meat at one dinner. Also the order of the dishes seemed unusual: fish-desert -meat -desert. Since I am lactose intolerant, I got the same desert twice (serbet) -boring.

Me and my wife decided to have lovely dinner but for me it was quite a disappointment. The meal was OK, nothing special, just the waiter was soo poor and this spoiled the whole evening. How is this possible that the restaurant rated so high could afford to gave such a low service.

A unique stay for the fans of sacral architecture! The whole complex is good for meditating. Low mezzanine and the guest bed had a bad spiral mattress, the but the rooms are very good in summer season when it is sizzling hot. I personally recommend the staff to get rid of chlore odor in the corridor leading to the breakfast room, that serves one of the most copious breakfast I have ever had, with Michelin quality.

Restaurant's price to value ratio is poor. We had a dinner and ordered duck's breast and venison for mains. First of all, we didn't realise that they come without a side dish, waiters didn't ask whether we'd like a side. So we were very disappointed to receive half empty plates with minimal vegetables. And the meat - extremely undercooked. We were not warned or asked for how well done we would like our meat. It also lacked salt, but guess what - no salt on the table. On the bright side, sauces were good. Desserts were nice, interesting unusual flavours of smooth basil or linden ice cream. Waiting staff were polite, only forgot to check basic information about the order (sides or donnness of meat).

Food was very tasty, definitely up standard. But staff is missing proper training, attention to detail. At least several mistakes very made to each guest out of 11 people. Dinning rooms from the photos are very far away from the ones you get for such a small celebration.

😠 The security guy woke up a 4-year child because she was sleeping on the bench and the child was breaching their rules. So it was our last time in this awful place as for these circumstances.
