Most praised temple in darbhanga bihar , build by darbhanga maharaj. Must visit once if you in darbhanga.Mother Kali's Dham Shyama Kali templeĀ is built on the pyre inĀ Darbhanga,Ā Bihar. A large number of devotees visit here and allĀ ManglikĀ works are also done. This temple is known as Shyama Mai's temple.Shyama Mai's temple is built on the pyre ofĀ Maharaja Rameshwar SinghĀ at the crematorium Ghat and is an unusual occurrence in itself. Maharaja Rameshwar Singh was one of the seeker kings of the Darbhanga royal family. Due to the name of the king, this temple is known as Rameshwari Shyama Mai. The temple was founded byĀ Maharaj Kameshwar SinghĀ of Darbhanga in 1933. The statueĀ of mother was brought from Paris - Historians say that this statue came fromĀ Paris. Visiting the feet of Mother Shyama Kali fulfills every wish of the devotees. On the part of the mother, there is a delectable Raktim or yellow cloth. This idol of Maa Kali is of four arms. The right hand always blesses the visiting refugees. The entire temple complex is always in a bustling mood and the atmosphere is vibrant with Jai Shyama Mai's Jayghosh. In this temple, mother Kali is worshiped with bothĀ VedicĀ andĀ TantricĀ methods. Usually inĀ HinduismĀ the couple does not go to the cremation ground until after 1 year of marriage. But in this temple built in the cremation ground, not only newlyweds come to seek blessings, but weddings are also done in this temple. Experts say that Shyama Mai Mata is the form ofĀ Sita. Laldas, who was a servant of King Rameshwar Singh, has explained this in the Rameshwar Charit Mithila Ramayana. It is derived from theĀ RamayanaĀ composed byĀ Valmiki. It is told that after Ravana was killed, Mother-Sita told Lord Rama that whoever slays Sahatrananda will be the real hero. On this, LordĀ RamaĀ went out to kill him. During the war, Lord Rama got an arrow from Sahasranand. Mother Sita became very angry on this and killed Sahastranand. Mother's color turned black with anger. Even after the slaughter, his anger did not calm down, so Lord Shiva himself had to come to stop him. As soon as the feet were placed on the Lord's chest, the mother was very ashamed and the tongue came out of her mouth. This form of Mother is worshiped and she is called here as Kali not Shyama

Enjoyed the vibe there. It is behind LNMU university. There are 5 temple complexes. Don't go on Sundays afternoon, just don't. I was there on the day when the 10th board ended so it ruined my day. Tons of children irrespective of their religion were there praying to maa. šŸ˜‚ But I tell you what the vibe was still alive. It is the place ones go if tries to explore darbhanga. There is a small man made pond in which you can enjoy sailing boat. You will love it.

Temple is very beautiful. The statue of Maa Kaali is enchanting and oozes grandness. Group of 5 to 6 temples each belonging to different gods and goddesses. Campus is very big and the pond in the middle is just icing on the cake. A calm place to visit anytime especially in the morning or evening.

This is one of the best places to visit in Darbhanga, Bihar. People can visit this holy place for worshiping Shyama Mai. And also get mental peace. Tourists coming to Darbhanga also come to see it. I like to visit this place whenever I get some free time. It feels much better here than anywhere else. There are many temples around Shyama Mai Temple. Everyone should visit this place in my opinion.
