This is a small Zoo but with heart and soul. The animals are treated good, there was enough food and space for each inhabitant. Some animals were lend out to other zoos so not all areas were filled. Entrance fee is really good compared to other zoos I have been to. The prices of the small cafe were too high (~4€ for fries) and it took way to long (~20 mins waiting time for fries...?), queueing excluded. The area is accessible with a wheelchair and the parking lots are close. Will be back for sure.

I took my daughter there she had a blast. I was surprised how many animals they had but we had an amazing time. Will definitely go back with some of her friends.

Aquarium water also was not lightened properly to see fishes. I hope that they can improve. There were enough visitors. So hopefully they will be able to earn and invest for the betterment. Mostly birds were there. The animals which we dont have in europe were missing. Kangaroo was just written over there but not present. Goats were attractive as the children were able to even brush them on their back.

Am Samstag, 05.08.2023 war ich seit langem mal wieder im Vivarium. Nach einer längeren Regenperiode war es der erste schöne Tag und es war zunächst (10 Uhr) noch relativ leer. Erst nach der Mittagszeit wurde es richtig voll. Dieser kleine Zoo ist ideal für Familien mit Kindern. Viele Sitzgruppen und Bänke laden zum Verweilen und Picknick ein. Es gibt auch etwas Gastronomie mit kleinen Gerichten. Das Schnitzel mit Pommes war gegen 13:30 Uhr leider schon aus. Vermutlich hatte man nicht mit so schönem Wetter und damit so einem Andrang gerechnet. Leider machten einige Außengehege einen etwas ungepflegten Eindruck, möglicherweise war dies aber auch dem Dauerregen der letzten Tage geschuldet. Die Anzahl der Tierarten ist natürlich nicht mit der der großen Zoos (Frankfurter Zoo, Opel-Zoo) zu vergleichen. Dafür ist der Eintritt vergleichsweise günstig und für Kinder immer eine Attraktion.

Es ist schön dort. Große Schmetterlinge kann man betrachten. Es ist schön gemischt an Tieren. Parkplätze ist bisschen zu klein.

Soweit ein schöner kleiner Zoo, allerdings ist der Eintritt von 8 € zzgl. Parkgebühren von 1 € die Stunde doch etwas teuer. Überzeugt hat mich die Sauberkeit der Gehege. Allerdings fand ich es befremdlich, dass Tiere wie Hauskaninchen oder Meerschweinchen um 11 Uhr nicht zu sehen waren. Schade. Für Familien mit Kindern jedoch ein toller Ort, da es genug Möglichkeiten gibt um sich auszuruhen, während die Kinder im Sand spielen können.

Das Vivarium ist ein kleiner Zoo am Rande Darmstadts. An der Lichtwiese und dem Botanischen Garten. Das Vivarium hat mich soweit überzeugt das ich Fördermitlied geworden bin. Ich finde sie haben eine schöne Mischung an Tieren. Insbesondere auch keine großtiere wie Elefanten, Giraffen oder Löwen bei denen man sich fragen muss wie die überhaupt artgerecht gehalten werden sollen. Auch darf im Vivarium fotografiert werden und die Fotos dürfen sogar komerziell genutzt werden. Das ist sehr selten. Als Fördermitglied (Ich glaube das sind 15€ im Jahr) kommt man kostenlos ins Vivarium und diese Möglichkeit nutze ich gerne um dort regelmäßig fotografieren zu gehen. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich das Engagement des Zoos für den Artenschutz und die Umweltbildung. Die Tierpflegerinnen und -pfleger sind äußerst sachkundig und teilen ihr Wissen gerne mit den Besuchern. Es gibt auch viele Fotoworkshops bei denen man sogar in die Gehege reingehen darf zum fotografieren. Die Sauberkeit und die Einrichtungen im Zoo sind erstklassig. Es gibt auch Essensmöglichkeiten und einen Souvenierladen, um den Tag noch angenehmer zu gestalten. Alles in allem ist ein Besuch im Vivarium immer ein schönes Erlebnis. Ich kann diesen Zoo nur wärmstens empfehlen, egal ob Sie alleine, mit der Familie oder mit Freunden unterwegs sind. Ein wunderbarer Ort, um die Schönheit und Vielfalt unserer Tierwelt zu schätzen und zu bewahren.

Trotz Feiertag nicht übervoll sondern sehr überschaubar. Nicht so viele verschiedene Tiere wie im FFM-, o. Opel-Zoo. Dafür aber auch um einiges günstiger. Familienkarte für 17€.
