A lovely location to stay one night or several nights. The green fish pond, the forest, everything breathes charm and rest. Everyone is kind and helpful. . We felt very welcome, also with our dog, in the Lodge as well as in the restaurant. The place is clean and quiet and we regretted not to be able to stay longer. A very pleasant hotel close to nature. Fantastic staff, quality food. The rooms are perfect.

The hotel staff is above the rest. Always a pleasant greeting, knowledgeable on the area, and not just willing , but wanting to assist. We were at the end of our 3 month vacation and visiting friends in the area and decided to try the Jagdschloss. The rooms is larger than normal hotel rooms and the bed is very clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful in unloading and loading our bags. There is a space near the front door to temporarily park for this purpose. It is a beautiful hotel and the grounds are relaxing to tour or to look at the wildlife. We will return for another visit in the near future. Thank you for your hospitality!

Check-In and Check-Out was very easy. The room was spacious and nicely furnished. The bed itself was comfortable but the gap between the two mattresses was huge. There was a huge smear on the toilett flush. Breakfast was rather disappointing.

Every minute in this hotel is just feels like one year. It’s 30 degrees in the summer without air conditioning in this tiny room - we have to leave the window open for the whole time, otherwise we can hardly breathe. But then we have to suffer from all kind of noises on the street. Room doesn’t have a water boiler, so if we want to have tea, we have to walk half kilometer away to ask the kitchen for it.The staff was very cold, they just say they don’t have anything that you need. Doesn’t even have a toothbrush! They asked guests who lived in the Armory not to use the main entrance, but rather a back door, because there are other users of the building who need unhindered access via the main door. That’s how important guests here are. For the price, I can hardly recommend anyone to try this.

Twenty minutes from Frankfurt airport the hotel is easy to reach. The premises are beautiful - especially on sunny days. Plenty of nature around to enjoy during a run or walk. If you prefer fitness, you will find a good equipped studio at the hotel. Had a room in the Zeughaus - 3 min from the main building. Nice, charming and well equipped. The cuisine is local/international and at a good level. Great variety of breakfast. Excellent location for trainings and seminars with small and medium groups. Plenty of breakout-space. The service was amazing, competent and very helpful. Definitely recommend!

Marvellous historical-hotel close to Frankfurt, friendly staff, excellent food in a cosy bar-restaurant. The breakfast is absolutely delicious. Rooms are very clean and spacious. As a dog owner you will appreciate the walking paths in the nearby woods.

Beautiful hotel close to Darmstadt but set alongside forest with easy walks or runs. Comfortable rooms - note some (or maybe all) rooms are a short walk or drive from the main hotel reception, bistro and restaurant. But it is worth the walk. I visited on business, stayed two nights. The hotel provides an excellent relaxing atmosphere, friendly environment with helpful staff. Bistro serves a range of local seasonal dishes.

Outstanding place to stay staffed by very courteous, helpful people. Beautiful historic location. We walked for hours on peaceful forest trails nearby. Walking distance to nature museum, historical hunting museum, and an easy drive to Messel Pit, Frankenstein Castle ruins, downtown Darmstadt, Wedding Tower, Russian Chapel, Rose Garden, and shopping. On-site restaurant dinner was excellent, and breakfast was the best we experienced in Germany. Room was more spacious than other hotels. Free parking above ground. A great place to unwind. Good choice for business retreats.

Best hotel to stay in Darmstadt and you have the forest right away for jogging.
