The food at Jack Astor's never disappoints. My personal favorite here is Mexican chicken rice and fish and chips.

Melanie and Jamie were incredible. I was having an awful day; things just weren’t going right. Because of the hospitality they gave, I feel incredible. Thank you. The food was great. The service was personalized and they renewed my hope in outstanding hospitality. Everybody should experience Jack’s in Dartmouth.

My only issue with this place has always been price point. Otherwise they offer a variety of entrees. I had the truffle burger and it was interesting. Kinda like eating a beef stroganoff sauce but was a very interesting blend. Not sure I would say it’s my fave. Wife ordered her favourite spicy pad Thai tofu and the child ordered her oversized chicken nuggets (couldn’t finish them). The waitress was definitely on point and looked after us. Kudos to great customer service experience

Best friend was visiting and we came here for supper and drinks. Service was fantastic. Waitress told us they were looking after NS power employees which we found so thoughtful. It was a pleasant experience. Chicken fingers were awesome!

Jack Astor’s Bar & Grill located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is a great restaurant. Everything was clean. The food was amazing. We recommend that you either make a reservation or show up EARLY like 5:45 pm or so. The trivia game is fun. When you arrive make sure you get on their free WiFi. You will then be able to place the trivia game on the hour and every half hour. Our server was GREAT. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Food was excellent, service not so great. Visited this restaurant for the first time and would not dine in again. Our server asked us 4 times within our 30 minute dinner if we were finished our meal. Finally on the 4th time of her asking I gave up and said yes and asked for the bill. We felt extremely rushed and uncomfortable about the whole experience. Other than that, we loved the food and the atmosphere. Just didn’t like feeling as if we were an inconvenience to the server.

Wooh! This place gets SO busy and packed on weekends. I went there last Saturday for the first time and it was crazy busy. It’s a nice family spot and has a lot of cool options. I didn’t find the food being super tasty, but it was ok. We got the new wonton nachos twice because we loved them the most, but the second time around wasn’t as tasty as the first. We also got shrimp pad Thai which was ok, but it didn’t taste as authentic. Maybe this spot is best for other items, so it’s nice to try out once.

Stopped by Jack Astor's for lunch over the weekend for the first time in a while, and I missed it! The vibe was a little overbearing for the middle of the afternoon (super loud music), but it sort of still fit the overall idea of the resto. Our server was an absolute gem, and the food was delicious.

We had a great meal and our waiter Matt was exceptional. I asked for his opinion as I hadn't been before. He gave me honest feedback about a few dishes to help me decide. Can't say enough good things about him.

Wonderful atmosphere. This was my first time here, and I enjoyed the food, drinks, and how friendly our server was. A few of the ladies who work her are very bubbly and have great energy. I recommend this place for food, drinks and a night out with friends or family

Super friendly! My baby was very loud and crying. I was stuck away from home and just wanted a good meal. The waiter had a lot of patience for us!! We were "those" people that I normally feel cranky for bringing a small baby in. Happy to not have felt judged.

Stopped by for lunch Had their in-house bread for an appetizer and the chicken fingers ad a main. The bread was good but it sits in butter and it was a bit cold. The chicken fingers were great and highly recommended. Service was also very good. Server was friendly and attentive

Our server was Sarah she was just a lovely bubbly lady, very accommodating and very patient! Food I had the Asiago chicken bowtie pasta very delicious has a good heat kick to it, chicken is very juicy the cheese sauce is very good. My mum had the Asiago chicken Cesar salad big salad chicken was juicy, tender and tasty Drinks - ceasar spicy but good, Shirley temple sugary but really good flavor. I completely forgot to take pictures of the food.

Great atmosphere, loved the music selection! The nachos were amazing, their home made three cheese blend is something else! The BBQ burger was good, buns slightly hard but overall a great experience!

Love going to Jack Astor's. We don't do it enough. The staff are friendly and sincere about wanting to make your visit a good one. Our server, Alex, was exceptional and very knowledgeable about the menu items. Carl had the Hunter Chicken, of which I partook of several samples - 5☆. The attached photo shows his thumb up. I will have this dish on our next visit. Mine was the Thai Coconut Curry Chicken Bowl - 3.5☆. But to be fair, Jack Astor's is not a Thai restaurant. It is great, however, to be able to have something a little different from the standard North American fare. So, the Thai dish was good but not exceptional. The Hunter Chicken was both a little different - and exceptional. The only downside was the loudness of the music. Alex said it was because it was a Friday nite, and we happened to be seated on the "bar side" of the restaurant. It seems their goal for the atmosphere during weekend evenings is to appeal to the younger crowd who want to feel they are in an exciting place. (my observation) As seniors, we loved the beat, but we also wanted to chat. Lesson learned for seniors is Friday, and Saturday nights may not be the best choice for atmosphere - unless you want to tap your toes to the music - seniors do that too. As an alternative, you can ask to be seated on the more quiet family side. All in all, it was a really good night out, with good food served and eaten to a lively beat.

Went there for my birthday dinner last night with some friends. The food was perfection as always, and I forget the ladies name but she had an amazing smile and a warm heart. Great customer service and she even asked if we were effected by the fires and if we were okay, very sweet of her to care about her customers that much.

A fave. I wish they would bring back some of the menu items (fajitas!) But their newer items are super tasty. Would recommend the Thai curry bowl or the hunters chicken! I found the lemon tart very nice (think lemon meringue) but a little large for how rich it is.

Jack Astor's is a fine establishment, the food is decent and the staff are friendly. However I do feel that the prices have gone up a little too much. The quality of food did not go up, the atmosphere didn't increase and neither did the service. But the prices have been steadily going up. I feel like you're better off going to other establishments such as Moxie's for the same price and a much classier and cleaner feeling atmosphere.

My kids always enjoy eating here, so when my parents came for a visit last week we decided to go there for dinner. What made this experience exceptional was the service we received from Matthieu B. He was fantastic - not only did he engage my kids and help with menu choices, he was also attentive, quick and very pleasant. The food was pretty good for the most part - The wings never disappoint and most of the other meals were tasty. My father was pretty disappointed with his pasta dish, but I also would never order pasta from a chain because previous experiences have always been disappointing. We didn’t say anything to Matthieu and just let it go because everything else was excellent. 4 stars because of the pasta, but otherwise 5⭐️

Super friendly server helped us for our visit here. He recommended the Thai sesame chicken stir fry bowl which was very very good. I had the Thai sauce on the side but would definitely have it included in the bowl next time. It was slightly spicy and so fresh. I also had the blueberry lemonade cocktail and it was just right mix of sweet and sour. Spouse had the Chipotle burger and was really happy with it. We wish there was a Jack Astor's where we live because we would absolutely come back. If I had to compare it to another place for atmosphere and decor I would say it's similar to Boston Pizza but more upscale.

Had the chicken fingers with lemon pepper, the garlic pan bread, fries and ceasar salad. Chicken fingers were great. Garlic pan bread was okay, a bit excessively greasy. Salads were okay. There was a piece of spoiled slimy lettuce in one.

Ate lunch here with another couple today. Two of us had the Thai Sesame Chicken Stir Fry. Loved it. The vegetables were very fresh and crisp. The rice was just "sticky" enough to work well with chopsticks. The other meals at our table were the Holy Smoke Burger and the Chicken & Goat Cheese Wrap. They also enjoyed them. We also ordered some of their craft beers and the Gummi Bear Margherita. Although, this site has varying reviews, we certainly had a great lunch. First time here and we'll definitely be back. Service was great. Thanks.
