This is true hometown eats! Reasonable prices, quality of the food was great! I had a wonder burger - it was delicious! Also tried a pig in a blanket which was good too. We didn’t have the ice cream but saw people get it and of course it looked good too! We’re traveling and just happened to stumble on this great find.. Staff was friendly & helpful. If you’re near Owensboro, KY you’re gonna wanna stop here.

I'm originally from Owensboro and I come home about every 6 months. My first stop is always the Whip!!! Food is great, service is pure Southern hospitality, and it brings back incredible memories for me

I wanted to try this place after hearing about it a year ago. My impression of this place is NOT IMPRESSED! - We ordered a chocolate malt, which had a great taste. However, the cup was only about two thirds full. - Ordered a corn dog, which was fresh but small for the price. Of course it didn’t come with any condiments. I had to return to get mustard. - They didn’t salt the fries. I had to return to ask for salt. - Ordered a Wonder burger which was supposed to come with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion. We requested everything and ask for them to add mustard. When we began to eat, the burger had mustard and nothing else. I had to bring the burger back to add all the other components. - Ordered a chicken sandwich. It came on this large five inch bun with a small piece of meat. Overall, I’m not impressed with the quality of food and would not recommend this establishment.

The girl that took our drive thru order had attitude and would have rather been anywhere but there. The foot long Dog I ordered was brown and crusty and looked like it had been waiting for me for a couple of days. And to finish I feel like I could have squeezed a quart of oil out of it. I truly hope and wish the best of luck with future customers. But it won't be me.....SORRY. not.

Best burger in town even tho they left off my cheddar and jalapeños. Ice cream twist was awesome! Onion rings were good. I love that they toast your bun

How amazingly adorable is this place. And I am so amazed and grateful that they are still open. I will always come to a place like this before I will go to any fast food chain. Also I can get breakfast sandwiches all day long and breaded mushrooms. Food is great!!!

Decent burgers at a wonderfully nostalgic Drive- in. Since 1955, Wendell's has been dishing out comfort food burgers, fries and onion rings. And don't forget the myriad ice cream desserts. A covered area with picnic tables makes this place a cute little treat to stop at.
