How amazingly adorable is this place. And I am so amazed and grateful that they are still open. I will always come to a place like this before I will go to any fast food chain. Also I can get breakfast sandwiches all day long and breaded mushrooms. Food is great!!!

Its a step back in time. We were just driving down the road and had to stop. Classic car hop food and soft serve. The wonderburger was pretty good. The soft serve was great. I loved that they had Ale8 on tap. I'd say this would be a must stop if you are driving through Owensboro.

60+ year old, locally-owned and operated old-school drive-in located on US Hwy 60 E in Owensboro, KY offering burgers, sandwiches, sides, salads, and ice cream treats (cones, sundaes, shakes, and malts which you can't anymore). I use to visit the restaurant often when I was younger, so I'm glad it was reopened in 2016 after closing for a shirt time. During the Summer when I go home I try stopping by one of the two drive-ins in town, so I recently stopped by to get a vanilla malt. So good. Want to try: Wonderburger and onion rings. (Several reviews mention both being good)

A local legend, and great drive in burger joint. I go here about once a month, and the food is always fresh made and delicious. The staff is friendly, and the service is fast.

We had burgers and fried mushrooms which were good, what you'd expect. We had dairy free for after which we love. The menu prices are not what we were charged. The service was efficient. It was very busy and we waited 30 minutes for our burgers. Overall, we would go back for nondairy but not for food if time is an issue.

One of the most disappointing stops in a long time. The only "wonder" to the burger is why I ordered one. Food was some of the poorest quality in a long time. Even the ice cream was only decent. Wait for food was extensive, but at least mine came out before the 2 ppl who order before me. Needless to say they were not happy lol.

I had the #1 Bacon Cheeseburger w/ a shake. I pretty excited after reading the comments. It's ok, it's a cheap meat patty. The fries common and basic. The chocolate shake pretty, can't really wrong with that anywhere you go. I give this place 5.9 out 10.

Wonder Whip will always be a top 10 on places to eat in Owensboro. Love drive-ins!! The burgers never disappoint and a large shake is absolutely huge! It captures that ideal American Food pride.

I love this place...it's the East Side's "dairy drive-in". It's been there forever and has it's original structure...and that crazy drive-thru. Not to very long ago Wonder Whip assumed new ownership and that place has been hoping ever since. The Wonder burger's are still tops and there have been some new items added like deep fried cheese curds. Check it out if you haven't already. You won't be disappointed. They make malted milkshakes or you can take some soft serve ice cream home, in a pint or quart. A veal sandwich is on the menu and fried mushrooms.

Wonderful staff/service and wonderful food! I have been coming here for years and still the best hamburger in town! Food is always hot and made to order.

This is true hometown eats! Reasonable prices, quality of the food was great! I had a wonder burger - it was delicious! Also tried a pig in a blanket which was good too. We didn’t have the ice cream but saw people get it and of course it looked good too! We’re traveling and just happened to stumble on this great find.. Staff was friendly & helpful. If you’re near Owensboro, KY you’re gonna wanna stop here.

Service is always kind enough, the food is always amazing. A few times they have forgotten things in our bag but they always make it right when you go to the window. Truly a small town gem.

I was drawn in by the 50’s style look of the place and ordered the burger, fries and peanut butter-chocolate milkshake. The burger was pretty good sized but just average in taste and the fries were good and freshly cooked. The milkshake was the best thing about the meal but still slightly hard to drink bc it wasn’t blended very well. Given the chance I’d pass on another visit.

Seriously, I could and would eat here every day if I could. Too bad I have to travel two hours here, but worth it every time.

I love all the food and the service but I don't think I'll ever try any "shakes" from here again. They advertise alot of different flavors but they aren't shakes. It's ice cream in a cup. I have NEVER successfully sucked a "shake" from a straw from here. Maybe start offering spoons with them so people can actually consume and enjoy!

Well, it's difficult giving any establishment a bad rating but Wonder Whip earned it. More like "wonder why we even stopped here and wasted our money". Exterior has a run down 50's feel- cute-ish, but only if it receives a seriously needed makeover. Everyone says to try Wonder Whip and to get a Wonder Burger. We go into the drive through, order a Wonder Burger, chicken fillet sandwich, and a corn dog. We wait in line for about 10-15 minutes. Finally got to the window and we were greeted quite nicely- thus the 2 stars on Service- took our card for payment. Handed our bank card back- no receipt or offered the option for a receipt. We wait for another 3-5 minutes before they hand us our drink cups, that were wet covered with soda on the outside. It's never fun being handed wet sticky cups. Another minute or two goes by and they pass out our food bag. Didn't look to have any adults inside who actually had leadership and control of the operation. Reaching into the bag immediately and grabbing a French fry: it's hot warm, but not fresh out of the oil hot hot. There was no salt on the fries, plain and boring- no taste. We traveled back home just to find out they forgot the chicken sandwich. The burger was NOTHING like the picture displayed on top of their building. The picture shows this big thick juicy piece of ground beef, but what we got was a dried out 1/4 patty. Didn't taste like it was made with the freshest ingredients either. Again, no chicken sandwich to judge. Corn dog: small pre-frozen corn dogs you buy in bulk from any grocery store, was NOT deep fried- I'm guessing some kind of dog roller heater or hot box. It wasn't pleasant and screamed cheap. But they charged $3 for it. Overpriced and gross. I don't understand why all the hype. It's pathetic. And yet I've seen lines wrapped around the building. Does no one in this area have taste buds or standards? Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and I have no plans on returning any time soon. Maybe one day I'll give it a second chance and hopefully I'll be able to change my review to something more positive. Good luck.

Been going there for years! It's one of the few "old school" drive up eateries around. The food is great and prices are very reasonable! As long as it's operating I will be a return customer.

We eat here frequently. Mostly burgers and shakes which are always good. I would give 5 stars if not for the wait, however, after trying another similar joint in town, I missed wonder whip. We'll put up with the wait next time.

Usually the food is great. Have never gotten a bad meal there until today. The fries were cold, some rubbery and some hard. They had been cooked for awhile before being served.

Love the place. First time there and we tried the Double Cheeseburger, Cheese burger, cheese balls, fries, and a Dole whip float and peach shake. Food was great but the nostalgia was greater. The old gas station and pumps were a cool addition to the historic property.

Love this place! We only had ice cream, and it was delicious. From Whips to Shakes they were all yummy! So glad we stopped. It's like taking a step back in time to days gone by. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Yum!

Oh my lordy mama. This was so good. We got a hot fudge sundae, a caramel shake, a double wonderburger, a tuna sandwich on toast, chili cheese fries, and a pup cup. Let's just say that the food did make it home. It was so good that I will absolutely be coming here again in the future!

Some good old American meals my favorite. It is a great place to get the amazing wonderburger. It is a staple of the restaurant and the best I might add. This place is not a massive chain and it is family owned. My favorite kinds of restaurants. Amazing job.

Established in 1955, serving good cheeseburgers, excellent onion rings, and thick, delicious shakes at reasonable prices. The menu doesn't stop at burgers, though. This is the kind of place I loved as a kid. Walk up, place your order, and enjoy it at one of the picnic tables or take it home. I could eat there everyday.

It was our first visit and it was definitely a good one. I loved the Dole pineapple ice cream which I couldn't find anywhere except Holiday World before we moved. The rest of the food was also tasty and reminded me of one of the places I was going to miss from our previous city. We will definitely be back!
