While the staff are friendly and location is great, it's not a place to sleep well... every time someone in the bunk bed moves a tiny bit, the other bed shakes, like a mini earthquake. The sink is in the middle of the bedroom, not in the bathroom, which means everyone wakes up when someone is getting ready. Also to note they do not have a fridge available for guests.

We stayed in a double room with private bathroom in this place - overlooks a beautiful and buzzing square (see photo). You simply cannot beat the location. It is walkable distance to anything you want to do in Utrecht, and there are so many bars and restaurant right in front of it. The service was friendly and efficient, the room got everything you need. A word of warning though, because of its location, there can be open air events in the square deep into the evening (until 22:30), and some guests in the building might be a bit loud (but I think a staff member did resolve the issue on one night when it was particularly bad). Thanks for the pleasant stay.

Clean rooms, toilet and shower. Located very near the city centre. However, would be great if simple breakfast was provided in the cost for the room. Currently you would have to add on additional money if you would like to have simple breakfast. Luggage room is available for use if you decide to check in early or check out late.

A good place when you need to stay in the center of Utrecht, you do your bookings late and there are no longer hotels in the area with a 3 digit price per night. But if you pay with a card that requires the 3D secure, problems may arise. It looks like their system does not support this. I called them right after booking, and the booking was in the system. When I arrived the next day, it was gone. So be prepared. Ask for amenities if you end up in a room for four backpackers instead of your privte room with all the stuff you could expect. Now for pros: I think the herbs in pots that one could brew the breakfast tea with are gone because of COVID, but the chain is still devoted to "green", and I really do appreciate that.

Perfect hostel, the location is incredible and it looks recently renovated. We stayed in a room with 4 beds, with a private toilet and shower just for the people of the room, the beds are comfy and offer privacy with a wall in the bunk beds thats blocks the light of the room.

Amazing location. Fair price. Stellar view of the library and square. Great sized room (private double room) with a bathroom attached. Came with towels and personal shampoo/body wash packs. Great room temperatures. Only critique is the flatness of the pillows.

I stayed in an all-female room (4 people) for a week, and I was extremely satisfied with my experience. Both the hostel and restaurant staff are nice and very helpful. The position is great, close to the station, the university, and the main attractions. The rooms are clean and well-organised as well :)

Honestly not the best. We were on the fifth floor and the wifi was nearly non existent. Also whats crazy is that there was no sign of a kitchen so we were forced to eat out every day and no common room, and the rooms were pretty dusty. Whats even stranger is that it was quite a high quality, obviously high budget building, yet no amenities that would make the hostel much much better. The only plus is the two showers in each room and my view from the top floor. Its also a very good location.

For a single-cheap travel it is nice. I stayed for 5 nights but I think that my room wasn’t clean any day. I shared room with 9 people and you couldn’t open the windows so the room was very sofocating and hot. The breakfast is very good, but the take away lunch doesn’t worth the price, it’s just a bag that you can take stuff from the breakfast buffet. It would be nice to have more only female rooms

Great hostel set in a very central location. Friendly staff. The rooms were fine with an en suite. The beds were also comfy. Downside is there is no self catering option. Not a massive issue as many restaurants nearby. I would think of this as closer to a hotel than a hostel. The bar and chill out area was nice as well.

Location was perfect, right in the city center and close to the main railway station. At the time of my stay, there was no communal room / sitting room or kitchen to prepare your own food. You can buy your drinks and food from the restaurant on-side, where prices are similar to bars in the city. This was rather disappointing, because I picked a hostel to travel low-budget. Besides, a hostel that has a place to chill and meet other guests apart from the restaurant or bedrooms is a much prefered choice for me. Good choice for a short stay, if you only need a bed and leave early again.

Lovely location, pretty ok breakfast, plenty of options and excellent coffee, but the rooms can be better cleaned (especially in the bathroom). At least the beds were very comfortable and the reception area is so cozy. Overall, good location for a city break and especially if get a price offer.

Generally good experience, during a stay for a week. Breakfast was good. Could not try dinner as the kitchen was closed at 7:30pm or later. Room (shared one) was fine, with few comments; behind/under the bed it was dirty (not important in practice) Wifi was not good in the room (maybe only at 5th floor), but good in common area

Basic but good. Comfort room was spacious enough, good mattresses, nice shower. Location is AAA and staff is friendly and helpful. Will stay again.

Stayed a few times. Boxes under the bed are quite often broken but otherwise everything else is adequate. The hostel can be very noisy, especially on weekends. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Great hostel at a perfect location to visit the city. Rooms were clean and spaceous. Staff were friendly and provided great service. The restaurant is currently under renovation but the construction are is isolated from the floors. Looking forward to see it finished at my next visit!

The location and service by the staff was very good. The prices reasonable if breakfast was included otherwise I think it’s slightly higher 35 euros for a dorm room can get you the same in central Amsterdam with breakfast. Maybe the prices should be reduced if breakfast was unavailable due to renovation. The pillows also weren’t very comfortable. However, overall the design and layout of the hotel covered with its location and staff made it an above average stay but the things above could be improved I reckoned. Ps: for a popular hostel, one would think there would be more than 1 washing machine / dryer too. Good stay but definitely room to improve

It is a hostel with a perfect location, you are just a few minutes away from all the attractions and good restaurants in the city. The service is very good too, and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, I didn't like the cleanliness of the hostel very much, and the room didn't smell very good, I believe it needs a greater frequency in checking the conditions of the room, bathrooms, showers... But for the cost benefit, it wasn't bad. I believe that with more frequent cleaning and maintenance, it could be a great hostel.

Excellent location, very centrally located. Comfortable. Friendly staff. Clean. Nice that there’s a bathroom in the room. Could leave my luggage after checking out, which was perfect.

Excellent location, close to everything. Freshly renovated, really nice. Very clean, daily. My room had no windows, only a curtain which was not enough to keep out the lights on the hallway - on all night. They are still renovating, annoying sounds during the day, started at 8-9 AM.

Rooms were nice and clean overall but the furniture was a bit outdated and the food was average at best. The locator is lovely though, right in the middle of Utrecht and close to everything. Such a lovely city!

I loved this place! The location is close to the main station and the mall, it's in the centre of Utrecht. The room was spacious and new looking. The bunk beds were clean, super comfortable and they didn't make a noise. The staff was friendly and I appreciated the washing machine. The only thing I would add to this place is a microwave, but I can't complain.

Amazing location. In the middle of Utrecht. It's super easy to walk everywhere. The rooms were great too! Just be aware that there's no kitchen :)

It's more like being in a hotel than a hostel, until you go to your rooms. The lobby and bar area are fabulous, beautiful lighting, atmosphere relaxing, safe, friendly staff. I feel very fortunate to have been recommended this hostel from a hotel I couldn't afford to stay in whilst attending an insight seminar close by.

I couldn't believe that in 6 days he never washed the toilet, never changed a towel or a sheet...it's disgusting!! the housekeepers do not take care of cleaning at all and every day using the toilet or the toilet was a bit disgusting. I do not recommend this hotel, only if you are someone who likes dirt and the smell of unwashed pee

Our room DIDN'T HAVE ANY WINDOWS AT ALL. At the reception they told me, yeah, some rooms don't have windows indeed. Sleeping with 6 people in a room with no windows and ventilation that we don't hear or feel it working is a health disaster.. The toilette and shower are incorporated into the room, also no ventilation. I wonder if it's even legal to rent a room without windows.

The shower, toilet and the room was clean. There is a locker allocated for each bunk bed which was an excellent idea. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The guy who looks after people during breakfast was incredibly helpful, kind and prepared me a gluten free bread. I dropped one star only because of lack of air conditioning in rooms. It was very hot and therefore I didn’t sleep well. If there was an air conditioning, I would give 5*.

Good hostel that I can describe as comfy, hotel-like but sterile. Not in a negative way, it's great (and better than others) if you need comfy bed (bunk beds are surprisingly sturdy and cozy) and shower, but unlike more classic hostels it lacks things like kitchen, washing machines and public lounges to talk with folks.

This place was as central as you can get. Super clean and quiet. We were shocked how nice and quiet it was for a hostel. Great spot and great staff too! Close to literally everything. Will definitely stay again, or find one in other cities!!

Good and convenient hostel in the center. I have seen better-organized shared rooms but it is not too bad either. The difficulties I observed are: (1) The storage area is under the bed, you have to take the cabinet out to use it. It is not convenient, makes noise, and blocks the other resident staying in the upper or lower bed. You also need a lock. (2) The washing sink is in the common area. You create noise to everyone when you just wash your hands.

Recommended place to stay at a perfect location. Stayed here twice in the last year's. Last time was with the family in the special Miffy room. A birthday present, over night stay, for my little one. No need to leave the room and have a walk outside.Dinner and breakfast were served in a separate room where the table was decorate in Miffy style.

The staff are nice and friendly, the sheets are clean, they left mints and funny hand soap along with a welcome card on the bed, there's an elevator which is pretty great and they have a cool restaurant here, unfortunately that's where the nice things end. For starters; the rooms are generally clean enough, there's no kitchen, the toilet shower and sink are pretty gross, for the 2 nights I was here the room wasn't cleaned at all, there's a lot of yellow mold/fungus on the tiles in the shower (see pictures) and it smells of rotten eggs, the washing machine smells of mold and mildew, finally there's the price, I paid 21€ per night (weekdays), it might be one of the cheapest in Utrecht but in Amsterdam (20mins away) it's only 16€ for a hostel that's way nicer and is always cleaned daily. Overall it's not the worst I've stayed in but it's definitely not great especially considering the high price, if there's no other hostel available then it's good for one night provided you don't shower here.

Location ist right in the middle, nice view from top floor onto the public library. Interesting former office building with stairs that have the groove of more than half a century in them. First floor features lots of communal space and outlets to charge devices.

The breakfast good, bed were nice and service was nice! Only minus was that there were no hooks in the room to put a jacket or anything. Otherwise very good!

Dont stay at this hotel. They are trying to take your money even if it's not your fault that the country put new laws against covid and you can't even go to the city. We tried to get them to consider our case, but they have shown zero flexibility and that they simply prefer to rob us and keep the money. Run away from this place

Nice location, affordable price. But the rooms are very dark and without any ventilation

Modern and clean hostel in the city centre. We stayed in a 2 person comfort room which can be compared to a standard hotel room (albeit without a TV). The room could do with better air conditioning since it was quite hot. Breakfast is basic but good enough and the bar has some nice beers and pastries. Staff was very hospitable and friendly. Owning to the location there will be some noise from the bars nearby but ear plugs are free :)

The hostel is really cool. I lived there for a month. I saw different people and know the staff well. They are welcoming, friendly, open to comments. I really liked the atmosphere on Tuesday evenings when people gather to play board games. There are specially designated places for work, for eating and just chilling. Despite this, I lacked variety at breakfast and sometimes I would like to have more meat for the evening. Also, my room lacked cleaning. All that was done was picking up the trash and adding toilet paper. I think they should put cameras under the hostel so that if a bicycle is stolen, it would be possible to track it on the cameras. But still it was nice to be in the hostel. It was comfortable. It was nice. Ecological. Thank you

PRO: Clean, modern, spacious 10 bed dorm with nice beds & baths, large common area with many places to chill, work or play table games, free brekkie if you book direct and stay at least 2 nights. CON: Dorm was too hot to sleep during summer because the window does not open and there is no AC, getting to the hotel is troublesome - 1km walking from train station or 3€ to use bus 74 or 77, almost impossible to get to by car (no stopping or parking within 300m of hotel and the Park+Ride is 20 min away but only 5€).

  • 3/5 Tímea D. 2 years ago on Google
This is the cheapest Hostel in the center, all the Hotel and Hostel are money oriented it cannot be change anything, otherwise the prices will be higher, so once in the life it's affordable :)

  • 4/5 Mohan D. 2 years ago on Google
It was not okay, it was great!!!! Friendly&caring staffs | 10 minutes walk from Utrecht Centraal | quiet&calm-in (Just don't make me wait for +15 minutes from the check-in time when your reception is right next to the bar! Ohh, I see what you did there ;))

To be an hostel, absolute innovative, everything looks new, family & solo-friendly. Spotless, abundant breakfast, excellent service, receptionists polite with guests. Can't complain!

  • 5/5 Vin S. 1 year ago on Google
Probably one of the best hostels I've stayed. I had a single room and everything was as expected. The only thing missing was a floor towel but I could live without it. The common area and the restaurant is nice. And the staff were friendly. Location wise - it is amazing. Walking distance to all shops and the central station.

Great stay, good location, clean, and vegan options at breakfast. Thanks for an enjoyable stay. close to the places to drink and party, but very quiet at night inside the hostel. Mixed rooms and segregated rooms available.

  • 4/5 Louise S. 2 years ago on Google
One night stay here. Double room was very clean with everything we needed. Pillows not great though. No fault of hostel but the Thursday before bank holiday weekend is quite lively outside with partying 🤣 I really loved 'The 5th' a great facility. Utrecht is a lovely city with plenty to see. For cycle tourers like us there is free and efficient underground secure bicycle parking almost directly opposite the hostel which was useful (below the library). The staff were brilliant 👍

  • 4/5 Carl E. 1 year ago on Google
Great location, room would have been great, but the ceiling vent was not working and with the high temperature this left the room very hot and uncomfortable to try and sleep in. We are used to very hot climate in tropics etc.. and it was still v hot for us. Should be an easy fix.

  • 5/5 Geraldine L. 2 years ago on Google
The rooms have everything you may need, it's clean and it's located in the heart of the city. Definitely recommend staying here if you're just passing by the city for 1 night. Price is affordable and the staff is friendly and give exceptional service to the costumers.

  • 5/5 Nish S. 1 year ago on Google
Very central location, but the rooms were very quiet at night. Also very clean, the fittings all seem quite modern. We stayed in a private 4 bed dorm which had its own toilet and shower room.
