I remember this place when I lived in Denver 15 years ago as a late night eatery after being out all night. It still has its small restaurant charm. It was busy for breakfast goers and there’s quite a bit to choose on the menu. My son loved his burger and fries and I had the Pete’s special. The potatoes were not seasoned at all so I added salt. The atmosphere is amazing so it was worth a stop before heading to the mountains to start our ski vacation!

Local place has been here my entire life. Super fast and friendly service, tasty food and great portions. It’s always open so you can eat anytime and step back in time when they had real diners. Hard to find this mix of nostalgia, ambiance, community and dedication to the craft

One of Denver’s Best. Definitely one of the coziest and most delicious restaurants in the downtown area. Not overly priced but so tasty, especially as it is open later than most restaurants. They know how to make juicy and crispy fries unlike anyone else. Their homemade hot sauces are top notch. Will be coming back very soon!

Came here with a group of people. First time from me and I plan on coming back. If I lived close to here, I would eat here at least once a week. Food is awesome and you get a lot. The hash browns were amazing! The place was busy but, moved us through pretty fast. Next time I am going to have to try the pancakes, I seen a couple eating them and they could not even fish them. They covered the entire plate. Definitely recommend this place!

This place was absolutely amazing! Old school, cook the food in front of you at the bar. The chili was great, definitely will be back next time I'm in Denver. I got a gyro burger that was pretty good as well. They were cooking the gyro meat on the vertical spit, so you know it's good

Well, since 1942, been serving East Colfax through the ages! Iconic and diverse. Fun to take my kids here and remember some of the days gone by with friends and their kids. Food is still tasty, still a LOT of it. Plan to split or come home with a box!

Nice greasy spoon! Dean’s Special(double cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickle and fries $16.75), was delicious as was the huge Club House w/fries($14.75). A little pricey but most city spots are. I am definitely going back to try their breakfast.

This is an old fashioned style diner, with American/Greek food. I had their patty melt which was very good, with fresh onions instead of frozen, and extra crispy French fries. I tried a side of their chili which exceeded my expectations. The service was attentive and fast. The ground beef in the patty melt tasted fresh and was plenty to eat. It was a warm respite from the winter cold with Christmas decorations too. Follow me for reviews in California, Washington, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas Wisconsin and more!

Historic diner open 24/7. Pete Contos' establishments have been institutions in Denver since the 60s. Great place to grab a quick bite to eat. Servers were friendly and food came out hot and quickly. Charming, a little gritty, and part of the fabric of the community.

Pancakes are amazing. Skip the Chile fries and the green Chile there are better places. Onion rings were tasty and burger was good.

Breakfast burrito was the bomb! Veggie Greek omelette was also amazing... Potatoes were perfectly crispy, which very rarely happens! Sauces were really good and made by Pete's, esp the green chili. Server was extremely awesome!

Pete’s Kitchen is a traditional diner with an open kitchen, bar & booth seating, and an addition that is similar to covered patio seating. I ordered breakfast for dinner on this first visit and it did not disappoint. Ordered the Chef’s Special breakfast which comes with two pancakes, two eggs, ham, bacon, or sausage, and hash browns. I requested both bacon and sausage and my waitress came in with the winning suggestion of sausage links over patties, which were fantastic. I also added some grilled biscuits. The food was simple and absolutely delicious. I love going to diners like Pete’s and posting up with a good book. I will definitely be back!

Just moved back to my hometown. I hadn't been to Pete's in probably 20 years and really enjoyed our breakfast and reminiscing about all the late nights spent there back in the day. Our server was fantastic. 4 stars only because the green chili wasn't as good as I remembered.

I’ve loved coming to this place for the nearly 2 decades I’ve lived in Denver. My wife and I took our daughter for the first time today and she was served Mickey Mouse pancakes 😊 A staple we need to keep in Denver forever! Thank you all so much for all the awesomeness over the years.

Late night grub after a night of drinking nothing hits the spot better. I enjoyed the gyro while my wife ordered the club sandwich. Both were tasty I enjoyed the atmosphere and the quick and polite wait staff that were able to get our order as soon as we sat down.

Me and my best friend used to come to Pete’s kitchen all the time when I lived in Denver, 30 years ago. Nothing’s changed. This place is still the best! Best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried a lot of breakfast burritos, all over the place! It’s truly a special treat to be able to come here this morning.

I come to Colorado quite a bit and finally stumbled across this place while looking for a breakfast spot today. Wow. Everything I expected from a local diner! The vibe is so cool. Everything you could possibly want for breakfast. Thought about trying the burrito, after seeing reviews, but had to go the Denver omelet way while in town. Believe they called it the Kitchen Omelet. Fresh veggies. Great taste. The hash browns were fantastic. Then I see they specialize in gyros too. Next time for sure. Tried their hot sauce and was in love. Got some to go. Is this heaven?! Quick friendly service. I have to come back immediately.

Dine in comfort food that taste amazing! Gyro meat is the way to go as it taste so flavorful and tender. The fries are cooked to perfection! Crispy but not overly greasy or salty. Definitely a must if you're grabbing a lunch or late night meal.

I wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for being open on Thanksgiving and offering a full Turkey dinner (two dinner rolls came out after this pic) with a slice of pie. This was very good. In fact, it is always a pleasure eating here and the friendly staff makes it an even better experience. Thanks y’all!!!!!!

This place has great food and a very pleasant, laid-back vibe. I love traditional counter-serve diners, so it was nice to experience that here. The food was great. As mentioned in other reviews, the fries are wonderfully crispy, and they paired nicely with the proprietary hot sauces. The service was great, too. It just >felt< like a diner, you know? My server, Nelly, was super friendly. I asked for her recommendation on what to get, and her eyes just lit up when she talked about her favorite dishes. Food just tastes better when the people making it and serving it don’t hate their jobs.
