I parked up at Curbar Gap carpark and did a lovely circular walk along Curbar Edge, past Froggatt Edge, to the Grouse Inn and returning along White Edge to the carpark. When you get near the Grouse Inn, you need to cross a bendy road and walk through a bit of Hay Wood to reach the pub, then cross the road again to continue towards White Edge. The walk took about 3 hours, but I spent quite a bit of time around the rocks and cliffs admiring the views. It was a wet overcast day, but it was still an enjoyable walk. Although it was misty, I could get enough glimpses of the valleys and hills around this beautiful area to make me want to come back on a sunny day.

Brilliant place to visit for day out. Nice steady walk with absolutely fantastic views all round. Second time I've been, will definitely go again. Just a beautiful picturesque place. Only one issue, car park is so small, you have to get there very early to get a space to park. Literally before 10.00am. There is a small old style van that serves coffee, tea and other hot and cold drinks. There are no toilets around Curbar Edge Side car park area, not sure about other side, as only been to see views first time and went with son second time. Only walked for two hours. Well worth going just for views though. Slight hill to start off with, then flat for most of top, but obviously has the rocks, and other old footpaths. Just be careful when walking.

Beautiful piece of our beautiful countryside. Lots of walkways, the carpark is usually quite busy and has a small mobile cafe most days. You can park in various safe spaces on the roadside if you're careful and respectful of the residents and other road users. Not far from a lovely village either with lovely pubs.

Easily found as the edge itself is quite large. Park at Curbar edge car park, but if you cannot get a space many people park on the road. 10 minutes maximum walk from the car park. No toilets at car park. Cafe van there at certain times. Amazing views. Walking boots or wellies advised. Keep dogs on leads. Keep children under control as sheer edge drops. Worth a visit and a good starting point to walk further if required.

Amazing views and a lovely walk which you can stretch out to suit your desired length. Car park is quite small but is the only free one I came across in all my walks. Can imagine it’s quite busy at peak. The views are quite breathtaking and there are lots of great photo opportunities to frame the landscape with the rocks edge. Terrain is hilly but not too steep with a lovely forest part. You can walk down to the village also for a pub lunch.

Amazing, breathtaking place, great for a shoot. I am a photographer and a proper nature lover! I took a couple for a shoot there. It's only 10 minutes walk from a nearby car park. the walk's very easy. Definitely reccommend to check this spot. :)

You can park up and follow a straightforward hike along a ridge with fabulous views and surprisingly dramatic rock face if you drop down below where the path meanders for a bit. A lovely little refreshments van open for hot and cold drinks open til 4 to finish off a bracing walk too ☺

A short walk from the car parks free for rspb and national trust holders . A short easy walk With beautiful views apart from the endless amounts of dog poo bags everywhere. Why bother picking it up and then just leave it for the cattle to chew on

Mesmerising place we went there for the first day but it was raining and windy. Wasn't able to see view that day, but we went again the next day, and the sky was clear. The view was spectacular. It is so beautiful with wild flowers. It is a bit dangerous with the pet or kids since it doesn't have any safety or someone looking after.

Wonderful views of the derwent Valley and lots of very striking rock formations. This walk links onto the also lovely Froggatt Edge and you can choose to do a circular walk including White Edge too. There is a pay and display car park at curbar gap and I highly recommend you include a stop off at the friendly Grouse Inn on your route!

Curbar to Froggart edge looks fantastic. Parking is very close but quickly fills and accessibility means it gets busy quickly. Very easy to navigate from on top though, and there's a slightly more adventurous route below the rock face for a scramble here and there. I'm sure climbers need no introduction but there's plenty here!

Nice steady 3 mile walk from the car park up to the Grouse Inn. Easy terrain and not much in the way of inclines.

Although I have lived in Derbyshire for over 10 years, I had never visited Curbar Edge, until the other day with a friend. Absolutely stunning views, and will definitely be going back πŸ‘

Catch this is on a clear day and it is a great place to while away the hours, lost in thought. A popular place for climbers and although the climbs look tame enough, some are amongst the most technical for many miles. A great place to get away. Just go early to make sure you can park safely.

Beautiful views, played rock hopping with my daughter and watched the climbers. The car park was busy and there were some benches for a picnic.

Froggatt, White and Curbar Edge. Decent sized National Trust car park at Curbar Gap. This is not tarmacked and can be muddy and bumpy. There is a small cafe wagon offering drinks, cake etc during busier times. Gets busy in warmer weather, holidays and weekends. Very limited free parking on the roads nearby. Loads of different walks from here. You can choose your own length and difficulty. Many on well defined wide paths but you are able to pick up much quieter routes. Be careful - these can be very boggy! Wrap up warm as it can be cold on the tops. We like the circular ones but whichever you choose you will be rewarded by spectacular views in all directions! Amazing! Look out for the red deer and lizards!

Great spot, not too far from the car park, careful on the ice. Unrivalled views.

Very nice place to hike for elders.. not too hard and steep but a very nice view after a quick hike. Would recommend visiting this place around mid of September so you can see those pink flowers.

Walked across the road from Baslow Edge. Car parking can be a nightmare, get there early. Plenty of roadside parking though. Easy walkways, Rocky pathways. Beautiful views.

Lovely 6 mile circular walk from Curbar edge car park. Some fantastic views along the way. It’s a very exposed location so it’s often windy and the tracks can be muddy too. If walking near the edge make sure you have good footwear as the rocks could be slippery. There are no toilets on the trail or at the curbar edge carpark. The carpark is fairly small so would quickly fill up at peak time there is another car park though at Frogartedge around the corner which you can park and walk to curbar.

A great place to sit and think in the quiet. Gets very windy. Views are amazing. Don't forget to get the coffee from the parking lot so good !!

Such an amazing, beautiful location with stunning views. There is a small pay-and-display car park near by (cards and cash accepted) and from there, a small hike to the cliff. Would recommend and definitely visit again!

Fantastic views and great walks. Official parking nearby Β£5 for the day with most machines taking card and pay by phone available. A massive improvement. Gets busy at weekends. Great place for a picnic but recommend a blanket or sinwthing to sit on as benches and tables scarce but fine a rock with a view open your flask and enjoy a cuppa.

Stunning views moderate walking conditions with the correct foot wear. Worthy of a stop off. Picnic benches along the way.

Great views across the nearby village and not too taxing on the legs. Worth a visit, free parking on the road nearby.

This place is a real hidden gem, great for a nice walk, there is a car park which is free which seems to a rarity for most tourist sites around the Derbyshire dales/Peak District. You won't be disappointed coming here.

Great place for a hike or walk and even good to pack your lunch and enjoy it on the cool rocks. It provides a magnificent view of the famous Peak District and wildlife.

  • 5/5 Wistman 2 years ago on Google
A popular spot. You'll need to be here early for a place in the car park. There's a busy coffee van parked as well. (Sunday) A beautiful place to walk, play or just sit and look at the view.

Stunning views, lovely walks, not suitable for wheelchair users!, small free parking area!

  • 5/5 Graham H. 2 years ago on Google
Great views. Shame that some visitors cannot respect the place by leaving rubbish behind. Curbar Edge is a victim of the nearby Curbar Gap car park and is considerably busy, even on a Monday in late August.
