Personally we parked at hollin bank car park. This costs money and isn't free, however, the walk isn't too long and we found some steps going up making it an easy climb to the top. Its a very busy place it seems, with many people practicing their rock climbing skills. This does have to be one of the best places in the Peak District for a view though. If you go to the pole you'll see 360 views that are stunning ! Walking boots required. Great for dogs. Ok for older children. You can make the walk as long or as short as you want. You can walk all the way along the rocky edge, or slightly further in along a path. The actual point can be very busy at weekends.

Stanage Edge is an incredible place! The stunning views of the Peak District are unlike anything I've seen before. The rugged beauty of the rocks and the lush green landscapes make it a must-visit spot. Whether you're a hiker, a climber, or just looking for a peaceful escape, this place has it all. The trails are well-marked, and it's the perfect spot to connect with nature. I had an amazing time here, and I can't wait to return. Highly recommended!

Stunning! Lovely hikes here and lots of opportunities for rock climbing/scrambling Had a lovely day walking up and down the views and absolutely gorgeous It is incredibly popular though so if you're after something a bit quieter this won't be the one for you! Unlike similar locations there are also toilets relatively close by which was really surprising!

Great 8 mile walk taking in Stanage Edge, Stanedge Pole, High Neb, and Higger Tor. Rainy and windy today on the Stanage ridge. 17mph winds at Stanage Edge trig. 14mph winds at High Neb trig. Great walk. Not much ascent/ descent but very rocky underfoot. Lots of people on the ridge, even in the bad weather. Enjoyed the walk and I'm sure it would be even better in summer!

Loved the walk up to Stanage Edge. We are in our late seventies but found the walk from the car park to the top of the Edge within our reasonably fit capabilities. What a view when you get to the top

We parked at Hooks car park and took the steep, but easy climb up to the rocks. We took our 3 and 5 yo who were both able to manage it fine. Gorgeous views and some great places to climb around the rocks without needing gear. Although don't get me wrong, there's plenty of parts where you definitely need climbing gear.

One of the most delightful ridge walks in the Peak District. You can start at Moscar and walk towards Fiddler's Elbow at Burbage Bride or walk to Hathersage or turn off along the Long Causeway via Stanage Pole to Redmires. And of course, you can start at any of these and walk towards Moscar. For the more ambitious the walk can be extended to Derwent Edge or you can take in the magnificent views across Ladybower from Bamford Edge. The lower footpath from Moscar will take you below the edge: look out for the many abandoned gritstone grinding wheels!

Awesome views with low effort. Very rocky terrain so good boots are needed. Free carpark at upper Burbage Bridge carpark. Gets busy at weekends and bank holidays. Park up and head east along trail and up onto the cliff edge. Non stop views for the next 3 or 4 miles.
