Well , the reactors got modernized and they are almost like New. Download Atomkraft to see all the npp accidents , you will realize that the western type reactors had wayyyyyy more accidentsf(rbmk only 1) only in Japan 5 exploded and 1 had a meltdown. In USA there are 57 accidents+ 1 major (three mile island /equipment failed not like the chnppp accident where mainly humans were the cause )anyways we got youra self .conclusion : not only you should stop roasting the rbmk but you also should be happy that they operate and that they won't get replaced with a western reactor type ...( see for your self how many accidents happened with western reactors ,also the rbmk design got updated so it's unlikely that a accident will happen .
